'This comment has received too many negative votes' when I see that it draws my attention to it like insane. But, haha, what I really wanted to say, is how much I love watching Bjork in the studio and see her create, it makes me want to create too she's just so incredibly inspiring! It's very rare for me to see someone and then to inspire me that much. I mean, I have my influences and idols and such, but with Bjork it's different. The way she talks about the creative proccess, hm yummy!
@ChrisMagoo99 i agree, it's a good song as it is but would be alot better without him, i'm not dissin when i say this but his voice reminds me of some of the characters of south park, i cracks me up every time i hear it!
Antony, I do not like you one bit. You cannot pronounce Bjork's name, you can't pronounce "Oceania," and worst of all... you ruined the second best song (Dull Flame) on Volta with your unbearable vocals.
@d3ejmz Yes, I do believe he is transgender. But if anyone in this world could convert someone into being straight, it would be Bjork. Heck, I'd be a lesbian for her.
I saw Bjork (or better said, heard her, cuz I'm so small I couldn't see much) here in Chile like a week ago, her voice is so powerful... I sing too (not professionaly, but I've won contests) and her voice is so enviable (I don't know if that's the way you say it). I'm studying singing this year, so hope I can live from it one day...
Lyrically... this isn't her best album. Its definitely not my favorite, but I know there are more to come. Just when I didn't think there can be anything better than Post, came Homogenic (which i thought was the meaning of life)... Then I thought it can't get any better than that, and then came Vespertine, which is my therapy. Volta is awesome, but not GENIUS, like some of her other albums.
I don't think an artist should write music specifically for the fans, i think they shud write for them selves, and be honoured if people like it (or not, lots of people like Britney lol). Tho i agree that the fans put her there, its not like she asked for that, shes just doing what she wants to be doing, a true artist. Also Mostonian, i think sex has other meanings as well, people understand what Gender means just as well as sex anyway
LOVE them. If more musicians were like them, no one would be talking about b spears, or any of that meaningless shit. Bjork is one of the true artists of our time, she's a fucking modern Michelangelo
Is your soul purpose to make negative comments on youtube videos? You're a total loser. If you hate vertain music so much, why do you go out of your way to insult people who like it? So sad. And how dare you say people have low IQs cos they like music you don't get.
One obviously gets some influences, but one's impression and, even further, art impression is what really counts. I'm just sure of it because of Björk.
Many artists these days get depressed because of the pressure they get for making something the public wants. All Bjork is doing is communicating her voice and trying to feed her inner artistic needs. I think its selfish of people to demand that an artist make art for them to indulge on.
i suppose. there is some nobility in doing work for thyself, and thyself alone.
but, at the same time, it's like a snub to those who have supported her and put her in a position to be able to experiment and live such a fulfilling life. for that, i kind of resent her proud selfishness. if she does it for herself, she should keep it for herself. otherwise keep your audience in consideration.
but, more than anything, i just really miss her old styles. i loved them, they meant so much.
I think the best thing an artist can do is to make the music for the artist self,, it seems way more real when they do that. something that comes from the heart!
i find her new work too self-indulgent. it no longer tries to connect with or really strike her audience... she's just experimenting to please herself. it makes me kind of sad.
Bjork has always said she's really selfish when it comes to music, she makes things that sound good to her ear. She says this in a statement when an interviewer from MTV talked to her about her receiving Grammy recognition. She says "I didn't think that they would even think of me, to be honest... I'm quite, quite selfish, you know, and I'm kind of doing stuff I enjoy doing, and the fact that they sort of noticed is very flattering."
Why does it matter (or should it matter) to anyone what gender/sex this talented singer is? So what if he was born a male and thinks he's not a man! Shut up and enjoy the music. He's doing a good job singing. This wouldn't even be an issue if he didn't have a lisp, so stop thinking that way.
Sex is the body(male/female). Gender is the mind(masculine/feminine). When your sex and your gender do not match, you are considered transgendered. It is extremely common. Sexuality is a spectrum.
thats my favorite song of volta, sounds kind of intense&barroque! have you heard the bjorks glumy sunday version? The Dull... reminds me so much to it, I remember falling in love whit that sweet but yet so dark melody...
Antony claims to be transgendered but he does not come across that way at all, he seems just like a very artsy guy, near the end he even sits like a dude.
He is fantastic :) I don't think he likes to call himself transgendered though. I think he just looks at himself like kinda neutral in a way. A genderneutral artist who loves make-up, haha. Either way he is beautiful, and he makes music that can reduce me to tears from the sheer honesty and beauty of it.
I love Björk aswell. I love how both she and Antony are so eccentric and .. weird in a way. People like them helps when it comes to keeping me sane in this monotone world.
I think it's the opposite cause he don'T really look like a biological woman he looks like a man who think that he is a girl! or whatever °3° thanx for the picturelink!
he is not transgendered, he knows that he is a man, but in some of his songs he reflects as a woman, or has sort of a female personality, and yeah he's gay
there is a difference between "man" and male. Man is a gender, and he proclaims himself as trans gendered. So he actually, I'm sure "knows he is a" male, not a man.
And, trans gendered people usually don't like to be considered gay.
I'm sorry, but that guy is a creeper. He sucks at singing too. I can't bear to listen to that song, because he ruined it with his "singing".

I couldn't agree more!! Wow ~ SO cool to hear about someone else's passion for The Girl Who Makes The Music.
I find it so exciting to think that Björk has said that making music is her life ~ and she isn't ever going to stop!!
That means there might be Björk albums coming out for another 40 yrs!!
Attempted comprehension of that concept blows my brains..
