Newer batteries are more stable but charging with a good balance charger with the battery in a cinder block is a good place to start. If a lipo battery is damaged or puffing or not balancing soak it in salt water overnight, cut off the plugs, puncture it and throw it away in the regular trash.
It was only charging with 12 volts. I have seen batteries do this after a wreck and we have heard of 3 house fires due to fires while charging. It's not a joke it really happens Notice I shown how to make a bunker for safety too and am not selling anything..

I bet if I hook a lamp cable to you with wire ties and plug it into the wall you will burst into flames too.
