  • the person that put this music to this footage should be made extinct what an insult.

  • Please bring them back. I want to see one before I die.

  • maybe a few are still alive..

  • @xRedNationx they are not alive anymore, predetors and the hunters killed the last one on earth.

  • Just goes to show that despite what some people think, we don't always take things into consideration. I've seen a lot of show and movies, along with reading plenty of books, where people talk about doing the right thing. But when it comes to animals, a single person can automaticaly become judge, jury, and executioner. So, while I love Australia, its people, and its amazing wildlife, I have this to say to early Australians preceeding 1936 or so: FUCK YOU ALL, YOU MURDERING ASSHOLES!

  • Fucking Wilf Batty and the Tasmanian Government at the time can all EAT A DICK.

  • fucking humans.....

  • Bring back australias tazmanian tiger we need a tiger to rub in other peoples face

  • Was this a silent film to begin with I assume. Too bad we can't hear the sounds they made, instead of SM's overwrought ditty.

  • BRING BACK THE THYLACINE!!!!!!

  • There's something that's so amazingly unnerving at how huge that open mouth is. Imagine seeing that in the wild. I believe these animals are still around. If they are, I give them props for avoiding man's reach. If they're rediscovered, I hope humans will be observers and not seek them out as zoo commodities. Thank you for posting this valuable footage.

  • they still have one at el paso zoo

  • Fuck anyone, living or dead, that hunted, killed or even harmed a Tasmanian tiger.

  • beautiful peice of footage, luckily tazzy tigers are sighted to still exist in tasmania and australia and papua new guinea

  • great animal

  • Fuck u mankind killing things needlessly

  • @pimpmastaC98 fuck u yourself for being so stupid.

  • Next to the Wolves, this is my favorite animal!

  • they act just like dogs

  • Whats up with the music? I almost wanted to cry.

    This is so sad...

  • I would love to believe that somewhere in the Tasmanian wilderness these beautiful creatures are surviving, but it is 99.99% certain that these unique marsupials are extinct. I would be very happy to be proven wrong though.

  • they're so cute, i hope to God the sightings are real. It's so sad to see animals go extinct.

  • @breezybaby284 you've obviously never seen one with its mouth open.

  • I did some research and there have been some sightings of this animal. We need to catch some and make more!

Anyway... this is such a freakishly looking animal.

It has the face of a coyote (with smaller ears) and the body of a tiger but its body sorta crouches low and it's has short legs like a weasel or a ferret.

  • I wish they are harmless.. If so, i can take care of it..

  • Occasional sightings of these creatures still occur so I hope a few escaped the end.

The world is a poorer place without them.

  • First time I saw footage of these I thought they were soooo cuteee! Then I freaked the hell out when I saw it open its mouth....Damn Australian assholes :/ Just "had" to kill them off....

  • @winkydinkable actually the European settlers of the early 1800s wiped them out.

  • @winkydinkable you sir are wrong there were no australians taking part in the great hunt for this animal in fact they were all british soldiers and farmers defending their crops and cattle from these elegant animals......

it is sad but it happened, and all we can do is remember....

  • @bboyoofccheese Yeah yeah...I already have been corrected.

  • Its so sad that these guys are now extinct...

  • The size of the jaw with the mouth opening wide like that is like some kind of Satanic abyss...

    Very sad though.

  • Another example of humans destroying the balance in nature... just like the wolves being eradicated from europe, people just have to be so stupid and kill off things they deem "scary"

  • it looks to be more of a dog than a cat

  • @Willdaonlythrill yh it does look more of a dog

  • Those bastards would fucking kill you If they werent already almost extinct.

  • @westsidepride69 lol waht? they are extinct and theyr very or were very docile creatures

  • @westsidepride69 Dude, even then, there's like zero reports of an thylacine attack against humans! In fact, they didn't even had enouh force to attacka anything larger than 5 kilograms!

  • Doesn't it look like a dingo with stripes?

  • You'd think people could've figured out they had a problem when they were down to about the last 4-5 Thylacines -- and started BREEDING them!

"Oh, duh, like now we only got one left, ooops! "

  • Cool animal. Crap song.

  • I hope there's still living in the unknown wilderness or that we can clone it

  • HUMANS SUCK!

  • A thylacine ate my baby!

  • @eveltrout I bet the ancient aborigines said that on a regular basis.

Aborigine #1 "ooomba oomba, thylacine waki waki waki!" (translation, "A thylacine ate my baby")

Aborgine #2 wazoo nana, zanzibar lama nu!" (translation, Oh yeah? Prove it!")

  • This song loses its effect when people use it extensively to dedicate it to all sort of things.

  • id fuckin kick the shit outta those people acting like fuckin goofs id prob tie them up and put them in a cage and piss on them that thing looks like a tiger cross with some type of coyote or ome shit

  • @ jezusfreak your mother is creapy you fucking inbreed Fuck

  • These critters are amazing. They kinda make me think of what a cross between an opossum an a mongoose would be like. The way the mouth is reminds me of the opossum, the movements/mannerisms remind me of the mongoose. Thank you for posting this awesome footage. A shame none of us will ever get a chance to see these animals for real. Humans are sooo exploitative of their environment - what a shame.

  • @drac2you whites are the main source of evil.

  • @XXXXJesusFreak13XXXX I mean, for one thing, nobody will take you serious with all you're FREAKING CAPS ABUSE and ALL YOUR FREAKING OUT and SAYING FREAKING LIKE AN IDIOT . . . and for another, thanks for showing your true colours. At least we know you're:

    1 - a whimp

    2- heartless and

    3 - selfish.

Thanks for sharing your FREAKING INTELLIGENCE?!?!?!?!

  • @XXXXJesusFreak13XXXX Great, let's kill all animals that scare you. Sounds like a great solution.

  • @PeterPiper00 What are you even talking about!?!?!?! I didnt even post this! I have NO clue who did! I think that these animals are cool! Sorry about that I will removing this comment. Because I'm not sure who posted this. God bless.

  • possibly the biggest environmental disasters of recent times.i am reaaly hoping for its comeback.

  • I love this video! Thanks for sharing! I had to stop in again!

  • how come we always kill the cool animals. we hunt awesome creatures like tasmanian tiger to extinction, but no one is doing anything about those damn pidgeons.

  • i wish i could go back in time and save all these extinct animals

  • @Jamesl52489 Indeed my friend. But of all extinct animals I would choose this one if I had to choose one. Mainly because the Thylacine was wiped out by man in his ignorance, fear and greed. Such a wonderful gift of nature that we erased forever as if to say to God himself we're too good to share this world with these creatures. Well I believe the Tasmanian Tiger has as much right to be hear as any of us. If the Marsupial Wolf stil lives somewhere in the deep Tasmanian bush I hope you are hiding.

  • This is my favourite video on youtube... Fantastic. Still makes me cry.

  • 50% of all species we see today will be extinct be 2100... it's really sad no one passes any protection laws as if they don't give a damn.

  • I think the Tasmanian Tiger is now what people call the chupacabra in North America a more evolved animal brought over from Tasmania in the 1930's.

  • i feel sorry for them...such a sad fate the thylacine had.

  • Why would we kill such majestic creatures. They look so nice and to be looked after and cared properly, they would still be alive today. We are just disrespectful assholes. )= poor Tasmanian Tigers <3

  • @TonyMontana525 because humans kill everything. no matter how big/small, pretty/ugly.

  • wow what wonderful animals :). i wish they were still here :'( .the song makes me cry too

  • -- beautifull creature -- wish we could see them inperson today u no

  • The last one was captured in 1933 and lived for 3 years (alone). "This thylacine died on 7 September 1936. It is believed to have died as the result of neglect—locked out of its sheltered sleeping quarters, it was exposed to a rare occurrence of extreme Tasmanian weather: extreme heat during the day and freezing temperatures at night." - F**k I *hate* humans sometimes. Ignorant bastards.

  • Why this stupid song???

  • its k-9

  • @thecrazyshowshow No. Carnivorous marsupial and it was in the same family as the kangaroo and the Tasmanian devil.

  • Wish I could have seen one before they disappeared... Makes me wonder if our future kids will be able to enjoy and see the wildlife we have now. =(

  • iwish we cpould bring bacl a lot of extinced things this is one of them.

  • The sun above me and a concrete floor below

Scratch at the chain links maybe bare my teeth for show

Fed twice a day I don't go hungry anymore

Feel in my bones just what the future has in store

I pace in circles so the camera will see

Look hard at my stripes, there'll be no more after me

  • Nice video all around! I love the Thylacine!

  • Should be renamed: "ZEBRA BUTT".

  • RIP Thylacinus cynocephalus

  • Watching videos on extinct animals makes me tear up, but I can't stop watching.

  • beautiful animal

  • To rais awarness on endangered Species join the Facebook cause Turn Facebook Wild!

  • @CoDBoSkillz spam whore.

  • I'm sick of this fucking song. It's not even sad anymore. Anyways, these creatures looked a bit clumsy and rat-like. To be honest, not sure they would've lasted to long anyways.

  • watching this made me think, my heard felt all weird this is so sad especially with the music. Nice choice in music though . :)

  • I love the Thylacine since a child. I have seen all the pictures and the videos...Thanks for this!

  • You had to put this music with it? This just makes me want to cry like those ASPCA commercials! Dammit!! Reading about these buggers makes me sad enough already, then add Sarah McLachlan and my pansy ass has to whip out the kleenex.

  • @HolliePrimeTime haha I found it fitting.. although most people are hating on the music.. :P

  • @BladeZofSorrow well, it kinda of like it and @HolliePrimeTime, it has the same affect on me the song and the ASPCA commercails too. well almost

  • @BladeZofSorrow oh well i made a video on these guys and I used the same soundtrack

yeah my video made my eyes get alittle water in them and it's the same with video

i mean watch closely and if you understand animals as much as I do you can tell he is wordering where all of his family was. He was so graceful for the last of his family.

  • @HolliePrimeTime

I was going to say, way to put a stupid-ass song with this really cool footage. I'd rather just watch it in complete silence, so I'll mute my computer. But really, you should've just kept it pure and silent, BladeZofSorrow.

  • The Dare Island Enigma is a novel concerning the Tasmanian Globster that was found in the early sixties see video book trailer

  • If scientists are able to clone Woolly Mammoths, and it looks like they're going to, expect to see these critters back on earth in the not-too-distant future.

  • @joesmoe71 But don't they have frozen tissue samples from mammoths? Tasmania is not that cold, I don't think.

  • @gryphon50c They have 3 complete babies preserved in alcohol which are like 120 years old, although ironically the DNA is not as well preserved as the frozen Mammoths.

  • @joesmoe71 well it turns out that they have several DNA samples now so now its a wait and see what happens approach to see if they find the right animal to give birth to it

  • @imgodnikca

    test tubes...

  • its a big rodent

  • aww .. how did they become extinct?

  • @xoxoalex310oxox Farmers hunting them

  • 2:21 scary as shit.

  • Comment removed

  • They're not completely extinct, the are about 50-100 left in the tasmanian forest, I can tell that for a fact cause I live there

  • @TheMrDudeWTF Then take a picture of it and make a fortune. If they are there, you should be able to get proof of it. So why has no one done that yet?

  • I love this thing. I hope they actually end up cloning it. Fucker can OPEN HIS MOUTH LIKE A SNAKE!

  • Our Tassie Tiger never would die, they still living in our forest, we don't like to showing them to world, the world that almost kill him forever ! Cheers from Tasmania

  • GUYS GOOD KNEWS! The Thylacine isnt fully extinct. There are undeveloped preserved embryos being studied. (I saw this on Hystory Channel and Dyscovery)

  • It saddens me to think that the Tasmanian Tigers are no longer on this earth... :/

    Lovely video, Thank You

  • this is sooo sad. i cannot believe that the human race is so stupid as to kill off the last of any kind of animal. soon there will be videos like this about polar bears as well. so sad.

  • They were beautiful

  • This song always makes me so sad, I miss Tasmanian Tigers terribly and I just heard of them literally 4 minutes ago. :(

  • awwww they are gorgeous im really sad they are extinct : (

  • @TahiraDarkmoon It is possible for them to clone the last one as their is still samples of DNA remaining, however the problem is if they clone it, they can only clone use the DNA from that one specimen, which means it will be the same gender and wont be able to reproduce therefore they are unable to bring the species back :S... But hey there might be advances in technology in future :)

  • Can't they clone them?

  • R.I.P.

  • the last 1s in aussie national museam

  • 2:05 wow that's a wide mouth

  • They plan on brining this species back via cloning by 2020. If that occurs it will be revolutionary

  • 2:05

That sort of scares me actually.

Still, it's a shame this species has gone extinct.

  • Very sad that such a beautiful creature no longer exists.

Proof that we need to look after the amazing animals that share our planet.

  • alot of people think that this animal is a hybrid or crossed with diffrent animals, but it is really a pure breed. Its not mixed with any kind of any other animal not a tiger, wolf, dog, or any kind of cat. Its truly an amazing animal and its soo sad to see it be gone for every. I would die to see one of these. The numbers are crazy high how many people killed this animal in the late 1800's abd early 1900's

  • Every year our school has either a History fair or a Sceince fair and last year was the History fair and me and my freind Madeline got 2nd for our Austrailia: Landforms and Animals project and the Tasmainian Tiger was one of the animals I did (I wish they were still here beatiful animals) oh and we can say that they are dog cat marsupial things XD

  • 2:05 how awsome is that

  • @tehpointyone totally thinking the same thing! =)

  • God that's depressing. What an amazing creature... I'd love there to still be a remnant population, but I fear the evidence for such is incredibly flimsy.

Also, so was corny: 'I will remember you, wee Tassie Tiger, will you remember me?'

Answer: probably not, what with being extinct and all.

  • Corny song.

  • Wow that is an amazing creature! Looks like a carnivorous kangaroo! Its mechanical structure, it's feet and even it's face very closely resemble a 'roo! Let's hope there is an undiscovered group of them in Tasmania. I know highly unlikely, but one can hope! :)

  • It IS extinct... :-(

  • @bersa888 It is THOUGHT to be extinct. Scientists are not 100% sure on this yet. So we all hope there's a small population thriving somewhere in tasmania's unexplored jungles.

  • @DrVonTotenkopf138 : That would be fantastic. But, last I heard from my biologist friend - who lives and works in Australia & New Zealand - it really seems to be it for the thylacine

  • Such a cool Cat.... Dog... Wolf... Marsupial thing....

  • It was a canine, not a cat. It does look like a cross between a dog, cat and a deer. Kind of a creepy looking thing, but with what I consider a friendly looking face. I'm guessing they were all killed off by humans.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN the tasmanian tiger is a marsupial, it was not closely related to tigers or dogs , but because of convergent evolution it displayed the same general form and adaptations. Its closest living relative is thought to be either the Tasmanian devil or numbat. They are of their own genus. They were hunted on a bounty by early humans, while their habitat and hunting enviornment grew smaller greatly due to dingos.

  • @Tressaburger, Thank you, I stand corrected. I once saw a show that stated that the Thylacine was a canine. Looks like that show was wrong. I hope that these so called sightings of modern day Thylacines are real. It was an amazing looking creature. I have a feeling were it not for man, they would still be in existence, on Tasmania, anyway.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN Thank you and i completely agree with you...its a damn shame. Hopefully there are a few who have remained hidden.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN It's not at all a canine, though. It's not related to dogs AT ALL, it is only related to other marsupial mammals.

  • @gryphon50c You're right, it's not canine at all. I once saw a TV show that stated that while it was nicknamed the "Tasmanian Tiger", it wasn't a cat at all, but actually a canine. That's why I thought it was canine. That TV show was wrong! Don't believe everything you see on TV!

  • @gryphon50c

    Yeah. Watch "The Howling 3"

  • Music sucks. Just sayin'

  • with the tech we have today we could easily make one but ooh no thats playing god I mean really who are the christians to boss everyone around. just like stem cell research that could cure cancer or AIDS fucking idiots

  • @monkeypoo3000 I actually think god would be like "Hey good job dumbasses, you're actually doing something right for a change fixing your fuckup." Because seriously Humans fuck everything up lol we're responsible for tons of Extinctions, and yes we do have tech to bring some of those animals back but because of Taboos we don't. Keep Religion Separate from Government and Science.

  • THe song kills the mood man!

  • ew the bg song reallymakes you wish for another massive extiction, even the akward silence that makes you think that a screamer will come out any minute is better than this

  • way to pair the cheesiest song with the most badass animal.

  • i feel sorry for those animals they keep getting shot by hunters.

  • so fucking sad

  • lol this song makes it lulzy.

  • is it even related to the tiger family at all beside the stripes on the hind end

  • @tigers186 It is a marsupial

  • @BladeZofSorrow yes it is meaning it has a pouch on its under side

  • @tigers186 i dont think its a feline but it is a marsupiel

  • what the hell??!! the music

  • Such beautiful animals :) Just everything about them is amazing! I understand they hunted the livestalk but how could you ever want to kill such a beautiful creature ;.; They are very smart,i don't blame them for staying hiden! i don't blame people for not turning in sightings of these, the stupid people will try to kill them all :/ Animals such as these are meant to be enjoyed from a distance, not your wall or rug :C i'm not with PETA(not against them either), i'm just a thylacine freak XD

  • we'll always remember the Tasmanian Tiger :,(

  • why is that the cutest thing?

  • @CheshireCat1011 yeah right, lol

  • dislike music

  • pobres animalitos que culpa tenian de que el humano existiera

  • @roxileeable --Calm down roxil you bible thumping freak of nature. I called it an "animal" first and foremost. I think I understand it better then you considering your likely horrible ignorance to evolution and natural selection. The devil dose not exist.

  • this is cool. All this time I thought a thylacine was a prehistoric animal that went extinct millions of years ago, but it turns out we have fotage of them! I learn somethin' new every day.

  • im not gona call names but who ever calls this weird or never heard of it haha your stupid as hell pls study the world around you before open you f mouths stupid ppl :( sry for you sry for my english im not that gd

  • it might be posibble to clone tasmanian tiger again.

  • @gooddarkjedi it would be a shame if they cant....its an amazing animal

  • They tried. Nothing worked. Even when they said the thylacine DNA functioned in mice it would not be a step towards cloning one. All the DNA from all the preserved specimens are too poorly degrated for that to be posibble.

  • thse r extict because peps were creeped out cause thy thought it ws a mix between a cat and dog, STUPID PEOPLE!!! THATS WHAT A FOX IS

  • I love this song, we had this song at our school graduation.

  • 2:40 Scratches like a dog. I wonder if they were still around if they could be domesticated.

  • best thing for these poor beasts is to stay extinct. it is a cruel world, because humans live on this planet. if some still live, they must stay hidden.

  • i never heard of this weird thing before today. it looks like something they made up for avatar.

wow, it's so fucking idiotically stupid how we just go ahead and extinctivatate [made up] different beasts and everyone is like "pff. oh well", until about 100 years later when everyone is like, "wait....oh my dear GOD! the beasts! don't you see? we fucking ate them ALL!!.."

  • @OverlordRulerOfAll not sure that they were all "eaten".. I think most were just killed

  • In the last couple years, people have started to actually see or claim to have seen these animals out in the wilderness. Which could mean that there is several or even a remote pack somewhere.

  • i wish these things were still alive, they looked so beautiful

  • nice footage ...horrible music choice
