Come Bacchus sons we'll all get paid When the paymaster in his grave is laid He shits gold coins and flushes the loo And takes the milk from the bairns he do! In place of pay we drink stale ale And cannae pay the reck'ning coom in the mail We're in hock to the Bank and our home's in the tank Our accounts are all in HSBC Hell! 'Tis Debt that makes the world go round And that clinking clanking clunking sound Of Mark, or Yen, or Buck, or Pound That ne'er to us do come around!
The Seventh Cavalry rides helicopters to work these days, but they used to be pony soldiers doing the dirty work in the west for 13 bucks a month. They swiped this great tune from the British. Well done, Seventh Cavalry. You followed some crazy men, like Custer, but you did so bravely.
The British and Indian troops marched into the Battle of Magdala to this song in what is sometimes considered one of the worlds first examples of a Rapid Reaction Force being deployed over seas. (I say rapid reaction, it took a good three months to assemble and transport the force- but in 1868 that was quite a feat)

Garry Owen Baby Musical Ride: Father places Baby astride his leg and takes Baby's hands as if Baby were riding a Horse. Father bounces his Child whilst singing, at top volume, all verses from Garryowen. Babies generally like this.

"Mess with Scotland at your own risk"? Hasn't England been doing that for over seven hundred years? And who wears the crown of Scotland today? Why, Elizabeth II of England, isn't it? Where's William Wallace and The Bruce when you need 'em? Although Elizabeth is actually a descendent of Good King Robert, so I guess it's OK.
GOD bless the Republic and the Mighty 7th. hoooooaaahhh! This is a soul stirring rendition, one of the best I've heard to date. Many thanks from an old Tanker Sargent.

I've waken my daughters many times to Scotland the Brave and Gary Owen on the pipes at full volume; scare the hell outta them and my neighbors!! They still love me and the neighbors still tolerate me. I was single parent and DID IT MY WAY!!
sounds awesome and it's loud, and the drums crash like something you might hear on the field of Waterloo, sooooo =D what cause is there for complaint?
well men, that was tight! Fair play to them for having a wallop at it anyway, just a wee point thing there, the second Irish tune of course as you all know, is O'Donnell Abu, not O' Donald (thats our Scot cousins) The Last Donegal Cheiftan, and one of the two last Earls, and succesor to the High Kingship (as well as Hugh O'Neill of Tyrone) of good old Eire, O'Donnell forever "as Gaelige",
I come from a VERY OLD Welsh Cavalry family and of the Owen bloodline. This [bag]pipe version nearly made me cry it's that AWESOME! I CANNOT fathom a world WITHOUT our majestic Scots and their beloved bagpipes! You absolutely KICK ASS AND ROCK!!!!!
@smallHOST Thank you. Jesus, I'm glad someone noticed. The Drum Major called the set out of time. Early drones (out of tune) and early chanters. This is atrocious.
grailqwest, don't be like that, the man fought hard and oughta be admired for his service. Another FYI for you, it was referred to as Viet Nam back in the day, and old habits die hard. For instance ARVN, the term for the South Vietnamese troops, stood for the Army of the Republic of Viet Nam. It's two words, hoo-ah?
Did you know that in 1846, a MEXICAN ARMY BATALLION was formed mainly by IRISHMEN whom had deserted from the american army to join Mexico, a catholic nation, against an illegal invation.
Mexicans will always be grateful to Ireland for that.
There is some question about whether they were deserters. Some people insist they were civilians who migrated into Mexico because the could not find employment in Hew Orleans. one thing I agree on is that they were courageous soldiers and fought well.
