I like that you sung SHY cux=z im Winnifred in Once Upon A Mattress.Thanx for the advice!!!!(you remind me of sherie rene scott for some reason sorry,I had to tell you that:)
If your song happens to have a melody with strong notes on beats, especially downbeats, singing is OK as a method of indicating tempo. Otherwise, I'd prefer that singers clap or tap the beat.
You need to learn how to pronounce "accompanist." As an accompanist, I'd not do anything you say with your poor pronunciation, and you would immediately be regarded as an amateur and unprofessional. Should we be taking advice from you? I doubt it.
ITS IS ALSO IMPORTANT To make sure you get some music lessons to understand vocal and sheet music so you know about all the tempos and notes and note values..or else YOU WON'T GET ANYWHERE
^ i made things capitalized to draw attention because this is important
you shouldn't nod to the accompianist because that is also disrespectful.. u should bow ur head and when u rise u should be in character and the accompianist will know when to start
very helpful, i am an accompanist for a regional theatre in California, i hate SNAPPERS! but to qtpd1, i dont care if she says it wrong, which she didn't really. although don't audition with "shy" Everyone uses that song. and i hate playing it for every up tempo musuical audition!
yes - definitely mark your repeats! This is Athena Reich - the girl in the video. Thanks for the love :) Subscribe to my channel. Google me and get in touch!
It might also be a good idea to be able to pronounce the word accompanist correctly. Many people make the same mistake the hostess on this video makes.
Accompanye-ist? Wha?

I think you not doing what she askes of you just because she pronounces "accompanist" wrong is unprofessional. Amateur.

"YOU WON'T GET ANYWHERE" is important enough to draw special attention to? A little on the discouraging side of advice, wouldn't you think?

Just a thought about this excellent video, especially the thought about snapping...
One thought, it is good to mark repeats etc. in the music in addition to telling the accompanist, don't you think?
