I've never bothered getting Excalibur II, skipping a lot of the game for one sword isn't really worth it.

Though I did read somewhere that it's still possible to get it after 12 hours, but you need to loop through 256 revolutions of the clock hitting 00:00:00 (which is about three years...)

I know this is kind of late lol, but some advice to get the final weapon for Steiner. IN the config menu you can change the ATB speed to fast instead of waiting for it to be slow.

You need to examine that spot within 12 game hours. After the timer hits 12:00:00 it erases the event and you cannot obtain the sword.

because damage isnt based on what level your character is, its depends what weapon you have. You obviously have weak weapons if you only hit 2k damage.

using tents on an enemy can be one of the most powerful things you can do while trying to get the excaliber 2. youll know if a tent has worked if you see a message that says that a snake has bit the enemy. it can cause some or all status effects which can greatly help u beat an enemy waaaay quicker.

It's 'Auto-Haste', and it's a side-effect of one or more of items you can equip to your character in FFIX to learn, and then equip under 'Ability' in menu. It's a permanent status effect throughout battle.

Item that has Auto-haste: Running Shoes.

Where you can find it: "Go to Quan's dwelling with Quina and Vivi in your party. There will be a meeting with Quan, Qualle, Quina and Vivi. After this is over look in the klok on the balcony and you will recieve a pair off running shoes."

Its possible but insanely difficult.You have to flee from most battles.

He had 15 minutes remaining,you can cut down time by skipping the in game CG cut scenes.

-Low Gil(since you keep running)

-Low Level,and boss battles don't give XP

-constant reset

When people do an Excalibur II run the usually go for a perfect game run,includes.

-Perfect stats for all members(as possible)/(You'll be seriously undeleveled)

-All treasure chests opened(To get the rank from Gilgamesh)

-Jump rope and Marathon King(Vivi and the fat Hippo running)

-etc

Some people have gotten Excalibur II with more than 50mins remaining,soyou can watch the CG.

Gilgamesh was a hero of the ancient Sumerian civilization, also for Babilonians and Acadios (dont know how to write the second in english).

Gilgamesh search for the eternal life, and he found it from the "hero of the past" (maybe it was Noe from the Arc).

Enkidu (there in ff IX is wrote like Enkido (maybe this is the english translation). Was a savage who lives in the outsides in nature.

Gilgamesh teach him and they become goods friends.

Most people don't like FF IX becuase it isn't "cool". They like dark, gloomy characters and story. This isn't bad, but they can't be ALL like that. FF IIX's story was faaaaaaaaaaaaar more substancial than VIII's. People just don't see past the "super deformed style" characters. If Zidane was a fully-grown guy in a black leather jacket... then I guess most gamers would've liked the game -_-

As shown in this fight Quina needs luck, one of her normal attacks can be 500 the other one 100 (in the beginning , only time to use Quina..)

Her Blue magic learning takes time also, right timing for eating/cooking, also very boring... and if you wanna be soo fast etc Quina aint a good option. You also had luck in this fights like mostly all of ur fights to get Excalibur II..

Quina is FAR from useless, this video was actually intended to be just a practice run but it worked out so I kept it. But once you get Quina down to 1 hp, you can use the Blue Magic "Limit Glove" and it'll deal 9999 damage. It's very effective and time saving in an Excalibur 2 run.

I actually liked FFIX. It had fantasy elements here and there. Where as VII, VIII and X were all kinda... future-y. I disliked XII so much that I pretty much refuse to even believe it exists (the story was just blah, the battle system was just blah and the characters, save one, were just blah).

FFIX was for nostalgia, Besides, every FF never says it's "in the future", it just has a difference in advanced technology, which doesn't mention anything about future, as far as FF7 is concerned imo it was in oldern age but with massive technology, just as FF6 was oldern age world with technology. Just because airships are made of metal rather than wood, doesn't mean it's set in a futuristic world. Besides you've got to remember every FF is set in a different world, so tech' would mean nothing.

FF VII was dark, but that is why is so good. It represent a world in chaos and degeneration.

FF IX is a "recall" to the old fashion series, like I, II, III, IV, V.

If you look, ff 1, 4 and 9 are all the same world.

FF 7 was the best. The history was too good, the game shows the feeling that is real. Is like our world, with sword and some magic. And was the first rpg game, if I am not wrong, who has BLOOD and a lot of death feeling.
