  • U R THE LUCKIEST PERSON IN THE WORLD FOR SEEING THE BEST HORSE JUMPER EVER!!!! you lucky you ;)

  • Beezie Madden is my friends aunt :)

  • Judgement!!!! yay! I love Beezie, she's my idol!

  • I <3 judgement. Im hoping their will still be frozen semen available in ten years or so, so I can have judgement babies :D

  • aww i miss Judgement:\

  • @o0XxawesomexX0o She's getting off her horse's back for the ground poles and so that he can use his energy for jumping instead of carrying his back in a really correct, dressage way. If she were warming up for a dressage test, she would sit up under herself and get him carrying his back.

  • I live in Pennsylvania :P That would have been SOOOO awesome to see her!

  • DAMN Judgment is gorgeous! I love watching him jump, he is my favorite show jumper. He has such an interesting attitude over the jumps....

  • I wish I could of been you for that moment. I love beezie and judgement. : )

  • i think it's cool how she still does ground poles and such with her horses

  • @o0XxawesomexX0o I'm not a professional so don't take my word for this, but it's not that she's leaning forward but rather she's keeping a light seat while warming up Judgement to let him stretch out and loosen up. You can see that her shoulders are back and her chin is up.

  • Beautiful horse!

  • did you see that jump at 0:10?!?!?!?!? its amazing:D jk i know i warm up on them too ;)

  • Ah that's amazing! I hope she wasn't jumping with those draw reins lol. :3

  • I met bezzie madden and mclain ward! if you wanna see pictures just ask!

  • @mooseandchiara72 Haha...whatever you say. I was there.

  • @mooseandchiara72 That is to judgement you idiot lol that stripe is a fleece cover for his breast coller

  • @mooseandchiara72 this is most deffinitly judgment. yeah that white stripe would be his breast plate fleece. good try though!

  • @mooseandchiara72

ummm to bad that "white strip" on his chest is a piece of tack! haha

  • i live for the day when i can ride like her

  • My aunt owns one of judgement brothers!

  • @OverTheEiffel12 wow - what an honour!! :) judgement is great

  • Stallion eh? looks calm!

  • @mckennarules9 not all stallions are wild.. some are but some are actually gentle and calm.. my mom used to ride a stallion who could lead a mare undersaddle and not even look twice.. he would just walk around.

  • oh my gosh I HATE riding in this ring so much.

Just had to throw that out there. :)

  • how did u get to doing this, were u acutally there?

  • @LadyGagaFann101 Yes, I was actually there. This was right outside the main ring.

  • @dragonfly1030 im likeee a hugeeeeee fan of heer

  • Her leg doesn't even move a centimeter. Soooo jealous

  • Omg!!!! I would of fainted if I saw here there!!!!!

  • yah, shes awsome and sooo nice! i met her in person, i have a picture and she signed a saddle pad ;)

  • Wow...is she wearing draw reins? Interesting. George Morris hates them. I dont mind them and it's nice to see a grand prix rider who feels the same way.

  • @allieanimaux That or its a running martingale.

  • haha see even the best work over rails to warm up!

  • awesome ive been face to face and met her before :) it was so awesome

  • she has such control! and look at how much her horse is listening to her! even just watching this 18 second video and i am in awe of how easy she makes it look!!! incredible rider, i can't wait to see her at the grand prix at Old Salem Farm next month!

  • done improperely, yes. done properly, it can really teach a horse stuff that would take a verrry long time to teach w/o it. for instance, it teaches him to mind where he puts his feet

  • she makes those canter poles look so easy!

  • Oh, I'm so jealous that you were there!!! I love her!!! You're lucky. :)

  • u were atcully there!!!!

  • Indeed I was! As a spectator, but yep. :)

  • i really dont think Beezie would make her top stallion go over something that would cripple him and like TEFgirlforever said, the poles were set for judgement

  • Judgement is one of my favority horses of all time. He always gives Beezie 100% especially in the six-bars

  • Comment removed

  • it can if the poles are set for trot steps but those poles were set for Judgement's canter strides

  • Of course not 40+ years, however I have been taught the English way of riding for the past 20 years which I do believe is how Beezie rides...

  • Wow, a pro like her doing ground poles! Gives me hope :D

  • judgement is a sweet boy, but i like authentic better

  • I absolutely LOVE beezie madden. She is my idol

  • beezie is amazing! i lover her! i got her autograph on my saddle pad in KY! shes was soooo nice!

  • i always love watching some of the top riders warm up. Because, they do simple excercise like younger riders do. it amazes me how sometimes even the best riders fall. becuz some ppl think, well there top riders, they shouldnt fall. But we all fall sometimes,.

  • I just love Beezie :)

  • Actually, this was in Pennsylvania...but I agree, she's fabulous! :)

  • OMG!!!!! I LOVE Beezie Madden!

  • umm i canter through trot poles all the time you just space them differently thats all

  • old video, old description...

  • ok.

  • I definitely did not know a whole lot about pole work at the time...but damn, she still makes it look like an art form! :)

  • haha yupp

  • You can canter in trot poles your horse just needs to be collected. IN dresaage your horse should be able to do a walk trot and canter at all the same speed. Unless the speed needs to be increased.

  • no matter how collected the horse is i HIGHLY doubt the walk and canter could be the same speed -- even if the horse is overtracking like a machine. i agree that walk and trot can potentially be done at the same speed, but canter needs to have at least a little bit more pace than either to keep it from becoming a four-beat gait. unless we're discussing pirouettes, which is another matter entirely :)

  • no actaully it should!! Ive read it ive heard it and alot of teachers suggest it! But it also dpeends on what you are doing to!

  • Oh a canter can be done the same speed as a walk, if not slower in Dale's case, trust me. It is completely possible...But, I don't think that's quite what the want in dressage.

  • In the upper levels they can do it in place!! =D

  • i love beezie

she is so humble and one of the best riders out there

  • either is authentic, people pay her to ride both of them and most of the horses she rides.

  • My freind actually just recently went down to florida with her : p

  • I train with her,, or have a couple of times and livee a couple streets down from her. She has an amazing barn and is a GREATT trainer.

  • you are SO lucky.

  • omg was this in 2007 at the ap sport horse cup?

  • thx

  • whose horse is it?

  • you are so lucky to see her ride!!! she is my riding idol.

  • Hey Know How You Said About The Trotting Poles Thing I Dont Know If Anybody Else Has Said This But They're Probably Set Up As Canter Poles Which Are Spaced Further Apart =]

  • Yeah, people have said it, but thank you. At least you weren't rude about it. When I went to see this show, it was prior to having encountered anything like that in my training...but of course, you know, people love using Youtube as an avenue for feeling better about themselves by being asshats.

  • Ahh Ok I Just Couldnt Be Bothered Reading All The Comments To See If Somebody Had Said It So I Did :P And I Hadnt Done Canter Poles Until Last Summer Either So I Only Just Found Out What They Were =P

  • It's amazing how a horse that just rips apart the ring during competition, is so calm and graceful. It looks like a totally different horse.

  • The Grand Prix jumping

  • omg i wish i could have seen her warming up and everything. i mean like shes awesome! one day i will see her....i hope....

  • nice horse

  • They are called canter poles guys, they work on the same principle but are generally spaced 9-11 feet apart.

  • She's a great rider and has accomplished so many thing, you're so lucky to see her ride in person :)

  • not really....

  • you've never seen someone canter through trotting poles? haha. its not hard. what's the big deal with this lady? she's no better than any other pro rider as far as i can see.

  • omg i was there! haha i was sitting right there in the front like where you are seated and i didnt know it was her until she rode by and looked at me and im like HOLY SHIT!!! hhaa

  • Haha...it's amazing, it's like the way other people feel when they run into a movie star...it's just so cool to be able to get so close to someone that damned good. :)

  • lol I did that at a pony club rally, accidently of course - we were a little excited. :p he's beautiful, and lucky you shadesofgrey53! x

  • did what? ground poles??? how did you do them accidentally. and i join in with you envying shadesofgreay53 :P

  • yeah, well we cantered the trot poles that we were meant to be trotting over, hence it was accidental cantering over poles. n yeah that is a very stylish stallion :)

  • this is the horse that we're breeding my mare to in april.

  • That's awesome. That must cost a small fortune.

  • storm288, it's called the 'forward seat.' so when you go fast or over jumps you stay over the horses' center of gravity. or just sink your heels(that works too).

  • I know what it is thanks Jamielne. I use this type of seat when riding cross country. But in this case, I believe you should be sitting up on the horses hocks.

  • I love Beezie she is my inspiration as a rider, I want to meet her soooo badly.

  • They are called canter poles, have you never done them? They are great to make your horse think about where it is putting its legs in canter. You have them slightly wider apart from trotting poles.

  • totally agree :D

  • Actually, cantering cavaletti poles is a great way to help your horse balance and lengthen/shorten his stride or teach him to stay consistent in front of obstacles. If you watch Judgement closely, you will see his striding stays ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME over the poles as he is entering/exiting them. Of course, you have to have a secure, independent seat like Beezie, otherwise your horse will do a flying lead change or jump the pole (like my dear horse Blue)!

  • Storm288 I think it was your country, United Kingdom, that offered millions of pounds for her horse Judgement but she turned it down so if I were you I wouldn't say that.

  • The horse dosen't belong to her, he belongs to Iron Spring Farm. A comment about the riders eq has nothing to do with the horses ablilty, while she is an excellent rider I have to agree with storm288

  • As JumperGirl83 kindly pointed out - SHE didnt turn down anything since she doesnt own the horse. I have never slagged off Judgement, he's amazing. And I have never slagged off Beezie herself. She's very talented, just sit up!

  • Aghh, SIT UP! What is it with you American riders leaning forward all the time? It looks so messy!

  • Feel free to criticize one of the best riders in the country...

  • You should pick up a copy of a book on hunter-seat equitation and educate yourself :)

  • Right... since I have no idea what you mean by "hunter-seat equitation" then I cannot answer that - its clearly an American thing. The English seat is not like that.

  • really? the hunter seat is pretty common, even in the olympics - which is clearly not an American thing.

  • Do you know what the olympics are? Last i checked it was an international event :/ I'm pretty aware that a lot of Americans ride in a hunt seat :)

  • I completely agree with you haah what I ment was- you said that the olympics 'clearly isnt a american thing' and yes, americans are in it too so i dont see how it 'isnt' a american thing..

  • sorry - i didn't realize this was boiling down to semantics - what i meant to say was the olympics are not JUST an American thing.

  • Kk Now I undestand you..

  • ok?

  • I don't know about horses in the UK, but some horses in north America don't like having their riders drive their asses into their backs.

  • i've always been told not to do that and that it was... improper i guess

  • ugh

  • hahah agreed!

  • I LOVE BEEZIE MADDEN

  • I love her to death!!!! I met her and Brianne Goutal at a horse show in Florida and she was so nice!!!! She asked so many questions about how I ride and what I was schooling and so on!

  • Awesome..I have met her many times and she is soooo nice! Gotta love her! She lives twenty minutes away from me, so that is pretty sweet to!

  • Ahhhh i love beezie.
