it took me a few times to look back at your vid to start understanding this function. Its basically just telling it where to lock to grid. I'd do bigger chunks at a time and take it from there cause it may just lock it a little faster than so many markers. Kudos!
to Aspi17 the wave is a salsa piano line, it is very difficult to get the tempo with a "machine" you have to tap self the tempo cause the piano is "playing" with the beats the whole time and Logic will be crazy, this is salsa not classic or pop music.
Hi there - I'm trying to correct some rhythm/bass tracks in a song that has a section where the tempo changes (over a few measures). Whenever I turn on "Flex Mode" it shrinks the 2nd faster section of the track so the kick drum becomes completely out of sync with everything else. Had any experience with this and if so, any suggestions?? Thanks in advance...
i realize this is an old post.. but what the heck...
hahaha dude you know i just this same issue yesterday, So what I didn't realize at first is that the whole thing works together with your tempo settings (duuuuh obviously), sooooo. In the global tracks set up the click with transitions on the exact points where the tempo changes et voila!!! That should do it! That should keep it straight!
PD:BTW you can quantize once you have turned on Flex that can be helpfull too!
@Timdrum why don't you make a tutorial on how to do that? or maybe have a competition on remixing an old track, you use your way that 'makes more sense' and someone else uses the way that only everyone else apart from you uses. douche.
Logic's BPM counter works great with very defined drum beats, and on some tracks with well defined transients. On a lot of complex tracks, however, the BPM counter is a bit difficult to deal with.
thanks, very informative.. !

Great video!
Quick question on the transport settings you're using. How do you make the transport stop and hold its position for when you play again?

How can edit a track with logic p9 like makin
The song shorter or larger... Thanks

Once you get the song locked to a tempo, you can use snap... to cut bars.. repeat... double.. remove etc.

Nice intro to flex.

Would make more sense to use Logic's beat mapping to move the grid to the song, instead of the other way around.
Anybody can sound like a computer. But there's a reason classic 70's songs are still revered today: groove!
PS: Why is it so many audio folk can't record a decent voice over with a ton of popped p's all over da place???

If you don't get it, your too old... I'm not gonna explain it to you.
From now on, I will only approve "critics" comments...if they actually post a video showing how they did it "perfectly".
