  • altos are the hardest to play in my opinion, bari is my fav

  • @dragonforceisasem That depends on the player.

I played Clarinet for 3-4 years, then alto for 5 years before i tried bari. And it is damn hard to keep the embouchure relaxed while playing, when you learned to keep a certain amount of force on the reed with the clarinet and alto-saxophone. But it sounds damn awesome if you can do it.

  • i think thats an alto not a bari

  • for a student horn this is the best you can get

  • @kulacgizmo I agree. Most people say that the Yas 23 is the best, but hey, then the 21 gets cheaper ;)

    Just bought another 21 for resale, 100bucks : )

  • selmer this, selmer that. If you want to get the best craftsmanship for the price, get yourself a Yanagisawa. All of their horns are pro level. I've played on a many different horns, and none are better. The key work is much nicer than the Selmers, as is the response and resonance of the horn. I've played on Series 3, 2, and Super action's, and they all respond poorly in the lower register. not to mention all the problems with the special mechanisms, such as the C. way overpriced.

  • ouchhh flat down low

  • yamaha yamaha yamaha yamaha

  • @jacksonblaze21 moog and a casio.

  • don't be fooled! just because you buy this saxophone does not mean you are automatically going to sound as good as him! It requires hours and hours of practice to get a tone like that!

  • that sick dude...how u do dat...or wats the music peice

  • i can show you the world. from aladin

  • selmers are way over price get a yamaha 875EX they are awsome i had a selmer series 2 and i compared it i loved the yamaha it is even better with a vanduren aL 3 optimum mouthpice

  • Paris Selmar is best. Hands down.

  • Selmer Paris...

  • no no no no no no no no no no no no no no get selmers. selmers reign supreme. Selmer super action 80 seirie II or a Mark VI are the best

  • money money money money money money. Selmers cost super money

  • they may be expensive but are worth in the long run. they last longer than yamaha and are better

  • bene bene

  • how much is it ???

  • hey everyone could you all please recomend a saxophone for me? i want to learn to play and need your help. i currently play piano and guitar but really like the sound of saxophones. specifics would be appreciated. i play jazz and bles thanks in advance

  • you could get the yamaha 475 it is an intermediate sax and costs abt £700 dont bother getting a beginner one it will last you only for abt 2 years

  • pretty good what notes are you hitting

  • how much is it worth

  • thats def a 23 i have it

  • No, it's a 21. Older model version of the 23. I got a 23 too.

  • that low g is so flat, i recomend that u lip up or voice it up, but great sound and song

  • omg... yamamahs are shit, i think i have the samemodel as you - makes your tone sound squeky as shit.

  • Yamaha custom professional models are some of the best saxophones in the world.

  • No there really not, it's all about selmer paris and P.Mauriat.

  • I suppose it's a matter of opinion. But last professional Yamaha I tried beat the Selmer Paris I played hands down. But each saxophone is different.

  • Selmer has set the standard for years, but they have lost they're integrity. You can't spend less than top dollar to get a decent Selmer any more, where as you can pick up a YAS62 for a great price (depending on new versus used and where you look)

  • Its a matter of opinion, but when you get advanced there are the 4 top brands that you should look for, they are:

    Yamaha

    Yanigasawa

    Selmer

    Keilwerth

They all make great saxes, but its more about what you look for in a sax.

  • are acent saxes pretty good???

  • I wouldn't know, haven't heard of that brand before. sorry

  • i mispelled it. it accent and mine is doing pretty good for me but i was asking in case sum1 else wanted to kno........

  • P. Mauriat says hi.

  • Hate to break it to you but it's probably not the horn's fault that your tone is bad and it certainly has nothing to do with it being a Yamaha. If Yamaha was a bad brand, then people like Jean-Yves Fourmeau, Otis Murphy and Nobuya Sugawa wouldn't waste their time playing them.

  • Wrong, It's either my yamaha was just so fucked up it was shit, or it was me. I doubt it was me because now i have my 902 i play quite well, compared to the yamaha, my yamaha was bought with a massive dent in the bottom, which i fixed with my dad. It played fine for a year or two until the pads started to stick. So it was a saxes fault, not mine.

  • Wrong sorry. I have a Yahamaha alto sax to and the on it is really i got one from walmart and it sounds better. It was exspensive and a ripoff dont get one!

  • @jzer21 Man, if Yamaha was a bad a brand, then it wouldnt be in the Big 4

  • ugh...flat as ever.

  • That low G sounded flat every time you played it.

Well anyway you sound great. Imagine that on a Mark VI

    Great Job

  • you sound really good

  • ha!!! I LOVE IT!

  • toca de la ptm !! bien ehh

  • Thats the 23. I have that as my old horn.

my newer one is the 62, if you ever look for a new horn, check it out. Excellent.

  • para que me entiendas --> very good!!

  • hey your aswome but why do cromatic first

  • Warm up.

  • o, iis that a jazz mouthpiece

  • o, its that a jazz mouthpiece

  • I also have a yamaha alto... I find the tuning on them is terrible... any idea where I can find a decently priced good quality sax for university band?

  • Oh Cannonball saxes are phenominal Im a freshman and I own a cannonball Bigbell alto and tenor pro models and i use them at all my gigs absolutely love them its like getting in a car and it adjusts itself my only problems are... wait no i haven't had any problems with mine yet but yea they are great i suggest u buy one u won't regret it ever

  • Coudlnt agree with you more. Im a sophomore I play the alto and I own The Raven, everyone else in my section is stuck with crappy yamahas.

  • i have one like that

  • Not bad for a Yamaha student model, eh? Do you play on something other than a Yamaha student model horn for serious gigs/practicing?

  • I have a YTS 23, and I find if I hook it up with a jumpin' mouth piece its mighty finnnne.
