@ABoredGameDev I own both the game and a CD-i. I'm currently in the middle of editing a video which looks at the CD-i console in detail, including data management, the controller and options. This should be up by the end of the month or in the first week of June, along with the fourth and fitth episode of Hotel Mario.
I guess you just commented at the best time for me to check ;)
In the 4th video (which was recently recorded, but due to a few problems will need to be re-recorded) cutscenes have started to be commented on after they're played, so hopefully that should make this LP more enjoyable for you. I don't know when I'll get time to re-record it however, so please be patient :)
Nintendo had no part in making it actually. Nintendo had a contract with Phillips to create a CD add-on for the SNES that didn't happen, yet Phillips managed to retain the rights to produce Mario and Zelda games for a while. So, while it may be considered one of Nintendo's abortions, it's not quite right.
I'm happy you enjoyed it, I hope I'll become slightly less dull as the LP continues, I should have up to episode 4 online by the end of next week.
