  • Use the new rules!

  • Nice HQ guys

  • am im dreaming bow on youtube

  • these rules suck balls

  • put link in description fromm where to gt it

  • @juggles47 use your google fu, it aint that difficult.

  • @max15637 hey btw i cant find it f tard duh

  • hahaha such lads, love beasts of war

  • these rules can go fuck themselves

  • no start a small beginner book it will pissssssssssss me offf

  • This is why i love and play Warmachine. PP says, "Hey mates 35$ gets you a playing force, easily expanded upon and just in case you need them heres the rules for the game on the site! For Free!"

GW says, "Oi! Buy these two tac squads and commander to play with, which is about 100$ altogether! And we'll toss around a new rules set that if sucks we'll deny making it!"

  • @TechmarineArkantos Orks Minatures anyone?

  • @TechmarineArkantos Maybe a Dreadnought and a Terminator.

  • @TechmarineArkantos

Not to mention the fact that Warmachine has all the awesome parts of the Imperium and less of the shitty parts.

    Protectorate ftw.

  • I hope to Christ these rules are fake. First of all they are crap. Secondly they render a massive amount of codex rules (including latest codices) irrelevant. They render many rules such as relentless and assault shooting weapons irrelevant, and they make it hard for shooting armies to be as competitive as far as I can tell. This is far too big an overhaul on the rules. Even if the rules were good (which they aren't), it would require every single codex to be re-written at the same time to work.

  • @SingularSuperNinja or every single codex to be FAQ'd, which they are in the release so we can assume, if real, they will be on actual release

  • I think it will be good to try these rules; if nothing else the game now reflexs real combat norms. By going unit by unit the battles will really rage across the game board. The upper hand changing hopfully many times before the end.

  • yeah and then everybody will have to spend like 200 bucks

  • 18:14 embarrasing tree touch achievement unlocked

  • Over watch sucks. Its sucked in the past and its going to suck now. Long live the hive X..X

  • where can we download this so called heretic rulebook?

  • @MmmrrrggglllMedia You're really asking where to find an illegal rulebook that every man and his dog has played when all you had to do was google it?

The 'heretic' rules are designed around a faster game by making units more lethal but still trying to remain fair, which seems like GW's strategy (faster games = higher unit count in casual games = more sales).

  • use these new rules!!!!!!!!

  • PLAY THE NEW RULES!!! they are awesome!

  • Play with the new set

  • I don't play tournaments, but maybe what they could do with the bidding thing is have each player have set amount of Strategy Points, say, 5 each, and they wager at the beginning of a match on a Dice Roll off. Player A bets 3 points, Player B bets 0 points, they both roll a d6 and the winner gets what they bet, plus first turn.

  • @TheBeastsOfWar I really like the idea that you guys are doing this, however, i do have a suggestion. when you play out these set of rules why don't one person has a melee-heavy army, and the other has a shooting army. when it comes down to it, most 40k armies are gonna be favoring one of the two, if not both. i just want to see how it is gonna affect the game play by doing this.

  • @ANTX81: read again, Tau units are Airborne, not flyers. Read the Supersonic rule and you know what a Flyer is.

@Beasts: I really like the new ruleset, already played some games based on it, a few mistakes with the balance (did you recognize the "Heavy" rule for the Monolith? just insane) but I say, go for it. Even if it´s not the 6. Edition, it´s worth a shot

  • kill points games keep units cheap and effect no mary sues.

  • this leak is a old playtest ... basically its an alpha and they are now play testing the beta... most of it is changed\

  • well, seeing as the gaming group I play with is quite disinterested in this, I vote yes. I'm REALLY curious as to see how this set is played every which way, and maybe... it'll give me a jump on 'em :)

  • Yes! Make more videos of this Edition of 40k. Fake or New, it's getting me interested in building/painting/and playing 40k!!!

  • Reading these rules I am so happy to play Tau. Crisis suits are flyers with relentless. That means rapid fire at 18" AND a constant evasion of 6 (so long as I don't get 12" of someone). This makes them crazy hard to hit and with even greater standoff power. Lastly shooting after assault means I always get to mop up.

What does concern me is the fact missile pods are listed at 20 points, not 12. What else is changed point wise? where would i get that errata?

  • found the PDF looks very good, but without the basic rules alot went way over my head, any ideas were the basic one is? Also some quick 500 point games demonstrating what you know beasts of war please SCHNELL SCHNELL!!

  • YES BEASTS OF WAR WE ALL GIVE YOU PERMISION, ON THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE BOOK CAN BE COMPLETLY WRONG, DITCH FITH AND RUN WITH THIS, IT LOOKS GREAT FUN, 5TH IS BORING NOW, AND YES FOR BATTLE REPORTS, soz for caps :)

  • New rules sound epicly awsome, i say NEW RULES!!!!!!!

  • lord of the rings is played " you go i go" move player one- move player 2, shoot player 1- shoot player 2, charge player 1- charge player 2 etc, it works well in that you can counter atc the enemy after only just a few moments.

  • i like the kill points idea! but surely it shouldnt count upgrades?

  • its fake to me until GW say so. move/assault then shoot? no.

  • I vote for playing the new rules!

and, to anyone saying that tau gets a GREAT disabillity... the overwatch abillity will be devestating for anyone trying to approach fire warriors!

  • Now the pathetic init of necron jump units makes more sense.

  • @davethepak I think the turn sequence change could be true, as you said, it'll make triarch preatorians useful.

  • Comment removed

  • dooooo eeeeeettttttt

  • Go with the new rules!!!

  • mumble less! its painful to listen to this!

  • OMG are yall back now?

  • yeah, you could get 500 guardsmen made from plastic toy soldiers!

  • @miniwars123 This made me laugh.

  • Definately do videos about the new system. However make sure to inform viewers in the start of each video that these rules might be fake.

  • Where is this pdf???

  • Battle reports!

  • Chaos Daemons are crap?! Not so! Being able to assault after Deep Striking now will be HUGE! Even with Overwatch shots, their invulnerable saves and in the case of Plaguebearers FNP, should see them through to get into combat and maul a beleaguered defender. Daemons may have gone from the weakest 40K army to perhaps THE strongest!

  • TBOW: I would love to see more on this "ghost" BRB. The flexibility of proposed rules and impending tactica have me on the edge of my seat. I was having flashbacks to 3rd and 4th edition. Love the excitment you guys bring to Gaming also.

For the Honor of the Emperor!

  • and yeah im happy enough for these rules to come through, especially unit by unit movement, it'll go alot faster making you think as you move

  • and for special characters their points value would be equal to their wounds value, but for units with abilities to increase wounds, they always count as their base wound value?

  • do you not think it would be better if each model in a unit is worth 1 kill point? e.g. a squad of 5 space marines is worth 5 kill points?

  • @kenroth87 Yes, but different models should have differing values. Both methods have faults, i.e:

    - With 5th, killing 30 upgraded ork boy can give you one KP just as will picking off one vulnerable IP commisar.

    - With what you propose, say you kiled a Necron Nightbringer, a Carnifex and a Hive Tyrant from a Apoc. game, I would win by having more KPs if I killed four grots.

Overall, YES - that would be a better system, but, for example, a Space Marine cou;d be 3 points. etc.

  • It would be awsome if 6th Edtion comes out and these rules are better then everyone starts playing them.

  • I dont care if it is fake if the boys at gw see it i could be 7th Edtion if not 6th.

  • isnt the assaulting in terrain the exact same?

  • I wrote some rules in my bedroom one night, can i have a 45 minute episode on your website now please? thanks! :D

  • i just got into the rules for 40k but the movement idea sounds cool

  • However, Overwatch isnt available to all units

  • so biased that it probs was written by matt ward!

  • sounds good for marine armies and horde armies. Small, elite fast cc armies e.g. Dark Eldar/Eldar in particular may as well just give up though. Some of it sounds ok like the skimmer rules and the modifiers which just make sense but the move-assault-shoot thing completely gets rid of fleet and a unit like wyches whose main feature is the invulnerable save in cc and a high initiative are going to really suffer from overwatch, shooting in combat and alpha strike.

  • i sounds to me like eldar are getting sooo nurfed.. :( except a codex comes out :)

  • sary but i do not like what it das to molty wound units

  • overwatch was taken out of 3rd for a fecking reason... it's stupid good. and nothing could move.

  • will you be doing vids on the new vampire counts?

  • this seems to have the feel of rogue trader/2ed. Go for it!

  • Absolutely jump on it, what harm can it do. Those not interested simply don't have to watch.

  • +1 to using the new rules guys, at the very least it will be something interesting to see other peoples opinions on, mix it up alittle!

  • Awesome Idea, Do It!

  • Rather the book is real or not, from what I've read, so far I like the changes.

  • Awesome I love it!

  • I think you should definitely scrap the old, boring 5th edition and go for the new set. If you decide to go with this you will help us understand the new rules and perform a great service for the wargaming community.

    Exciting times ahead!

  • Looks like a mix from 2nd ed. rules with the 5th ed. ones.

  • Personally I hate this rule set, I play a "shooty" ork army although i have around 4000 points. So if this is true GW wants me (and you) to spend more money to make a Apoc size army for normal games. This annoys me in that A) It already take ages to play a average size game (2hours min) B) This might stop new people from joining and enjoying what a brilliant hobby this is. I personally belive that GW should sort out their problems first -cough- FINECAST -cough-

Angry thoughts of a Teenage Boy

  • info actually starts at 6:00

  • My vote is for the new stuff!

  • where can we get a look at this

  • @lorcan0c Eldar, Orks, Black Templar, Daemons and Dark Angels didn't get a 5th edition book either.

  • @cadoingresha Daemons are a 5th ed army, they were released immediately before 5th ed was and their rules correspond with 5th ed's. As for Black Templars and Dark Angels, they're all just "Space Marines" to me. You don't see every Eldar Craftworld, Ork Warband and Chaos Legion getting a codex, do you? There were already 2 Space Marine Chapter books this edition, AND Grey Knights. But Eldar and Orks got new models for 5th ed. Tau and Chaos got nothing.

  • @lorcan0c Tau and Chaos are rumored to be next so they'll get their time! Can't wait to see the rumored Chaos Legions book!

  • @junkerdunk Damm right. Chaos haven't had a book outside their basic codex since Eye of Terror, and that was what, second or third edition? Yet everyone gets their own books filled with rules, units and backstories, be it the Asartes chapters codices, Imperial Gaurd sub-factions (Catachans & others featured in Imperial Armour books) But the IA books dealt me a painful blow. I play Red Corsair CSM's. They get new rules and info, in the form of the Astral Clas, Aka LOYALISTS... Ugh.

  • @cadoingresha Dark Eldar didn't get the 4th edition book

  • Making combat more dangerous? Oh yes, thank you games workshop! Make life even MORE fucking difficult for us Tau players who DIDN'T EVEN GET A 5TH ED CODEX!!! Seriously, what the fuck is giving every faction but Tau and Chaos Space Marines a 5th Ed codex, then releasing a 6th ed codex before they get one?!

  • @lorcan0c They've just done Necrons, which were even less up-to-date than Tau and Chaos Marines. I suspect highly that one of the last two are going to be next. It only makes sense.

  • @TheQ260 Yeah, It's just the Space Marine chapters getting preference that annoys me. I mean if you include grey knights, there have been FOUR Astartes Codices in 5th ed, three of them written by the much hated Ward. Add to that the Imperial Gaurd codex, that makes five imperial books against 3 xeno books (Necrons, Tyranids and Dark Eldar)

  • @lorcan0c well it would be a bit pointless if they released a codex just before the 6th edition came out but you're right it's time for updates

  • @lorcan0c Because eldar got a 5th edition codex...

  • 40k and Fantasy are two different games. Just because GW have finally pulled their heads out of their asses and realised that the 40k Codices of the last three years are broken as hell, doesn't mean they can undo that by changing the game.

THE RULES ARE FINE. FIX THE CODICES. The rules are NOT the problem. Fantasy does NOT have broken Army Books, and has good rules. 40k has good rules, and bad army books that make every new faction the most powerful and broken.

  • I think it'd be worth doing something with the rules, but I wouldn't go with them exclusively. I'm of a mind in thinking that it's someones pet project in that it contains house rules from certain groups of posters I know in several forums and mailing chat groups (and the fact ir references armour values and units wrong is another matter).

  • go with the new rules.

  • A lot of this stuff sounds very interesting, but I do not think that most of this stuff will be in the final release, whether this is the Games Workshop roughdraft or not.Their focus lately has been a massive increase in model sales, so the only thing that I can guarentee is that the minimum game size will increase and the minimum number of units will increase and the rules will be primarily focused on sell more models, rather than being good and fun.

  • was i the only guy checking his Iphone when i heard the noise in this vid :P

  • Guys, I'd really like to see more Warhammer Fantasy !!!!

  • Go with the new rules

  • The first part of the rules about assaulting and such, sounds amazing for orcs :)))

  • My wife made me a Titan, check out my channel :)

  • @DarbysBored

    Your wife made me breakfast.

  • @Battlereports: do it!

  • yes, lets see you play the new system!

  • If everyone said Rumoured 6th Edition rules it wouldn't be so bad, but people are going overboard.

  • Why are all of BOW scottish, I thought they were an english/amerucin organisation? :L

  • @Gingrnut Actually, they're based in Northern Ireland, which means they could be Irish or British. Or indeed, both.

  • @Gingrnut They're Northern Irish, and so you thought wrong on two different counts :P

  • I love to see some batreps from you guy, and I am looking forward to watch some experimental research on a set of prototype game rules, done by you, while i can lay back and relax.

  • Yes, YES, OH YEs... lets see it

  • Take the Chance...do battle reports with this system!!!!!!!

    5th edition is becoming boring.

  • BOW are a crafty bunch (remember the"megalith"?)

I put it to you that they are responsible for this rule set!

    And yes, go with it.

  • @richardcasellas Would they take 50 mins to do it?

  • I noticed in this set of rules that Deep Striking would work alittle different and will make Deep Strike Armies, namely Chaos Daemons, have a more fighting chance. If a beacons is down on the board, which it would be after turn 1, then the ones coming in within the 6" of it can go right into their Combat Move and Engage the enemy. Although I think they're still subject to the Defensive Fire rule (Enemy units within 12" of Deep Strikers can fire on them when they arrive. The 'Oh Shit!!' rule :P )

  • But even with my point about similar to 8th edition Fantasy changes it still could be some of the changes they go with. Since they did make such big changes to the Fantasy rules for 8th they may well do the same to 6th for 40k. And BoW guys, I gotta say that even if this ends up just being similar to the end product come Summer time it would still be damn good fun to see how it all plays out on the Tabletop among you. Also if the Necrons new rules work better under them would be telling as well.

  • After they said this was suppose to be from May 2011, some of these rules are stuff they went with for 8th edition Warhammer Fantasy. Like the Move and double it for a Charge/Combat Move. Or the Parry Save in combat for Power Weapons of a 5+ Invul like the now Fantasy Parry Save of 6+ Ward for some weapons.

So with May 2011 being said I think this was a rules set they made to test possible 6th edition changes and work out how the Necrons will play in it before they'd put their new codex out.

  • @Ninjas2040 Oh I looked up and found and immediately downloaded this rule set they have after I got about 10mins into watching this. And on another side note about this the accompanying Codex Updates PDF that goes with it does NOT include Codex: Necrons, Codex: Black Templars or Codex: Witch Hunters/Sisters of Battle & it calls Codex: Daemonhunters Codex: Grey Knights. But I'm sure they would have long known Daemonhunters would be Grey Knights even back in May 2011. Just stuff to think about.

  • stratagems are the best thing i see so far. it makes the game seem like an actual battle and keeps it from getting stagnant as 5th ed. has been lately. it makes each list feel like it has new life each game. either way i WANT this edition. if this is GW's next version i'll have a reason to play again.

  • I believe that this ruleset is the real one, becaouse most of the rules were told to me by an insider some months ago. I skipped 5th edition, but with this ruleset I would give it serious consideration to play again my beloved eldar.

  • some of this sounds amazing some sounds bad like the new movements for things i dont see how something with a jump pack can only move two inches more then some one on foot now if the foot slogers was cut down to like 5 inches and the jump and bikes for that matter was at say 9 or 10 it would be more realistic which is where these rules seem to be pushing towards. i also dont agree with not being abel to shoot to soften your oponent befor the charge.

  • Oh, and I can't wait for the next video!

  • I playtested a couple 500 point games, and after 30 minutes of looking at the rules, first game took an hour while looking back to the rules. The next game took 40 minutes. The game after that took even less time. And we loved every bit of it. Occasionally we ran into some rule questions, but dakka dakka 60+ page fourm on it helped a lot. The rules are ace!

  • even if its a real 6th ed rule book, it may very well be an early version that will get reworked heavily and when the final 6th ed codex comes out it will have a 50% reworked rule set.

  • Dear god... I hope that is fake. Fifth Edition just seems absolutely perfect. This rule set is just gross. >_<

  • I've never subscribed to a Warhammer channel before but I'm going to subscribe to you guys just to see you play unofficial sixth!

  • Guys... GO FOR IT! these rules are just incredible!

  • Cavalry type units Charge to 3X their move rather then 2X, and for the Per unit turn, its only in one of the Missions, who is designed for 3 to 5 players, its not something mandatory.

  • I really hope this is fake because this is an awful rules set. 5th edition was by far the best edition of the rules so far and I hope the real 6th ed rules don't deviate too much from it.

  • @EryxUK When you don't know jack shit about what you are talking about, just shut your trap will ya?

Those rules have been tested by several people on dakkadakka forums, and they all agree that those rules are excellent!, and by far way more superior to the 5th Ed rules, wich ruins a lot of things with their transport parking lot and wound allocations funkyness.

Go find the pdf of 6th Ed, read it in full and come back and i dare you say 5th is better...

  • @Mugthraka I do know what I am talking about. I've been playing 40K since RT was released. I've read the PDF and I still say they are rubbish compared to 5th edition. %th was perfect (bar one or two things). If this is real then it is a step in the wrong direction and a huge unnecessary change to the rules set.

  • There wont be a separate rule book with simpler 'basic' rules for beginners. Everything will be covered in the same book, just like in Fantasy.

  • Some of this may be good.

But I'll wait for 10th edition.

  • Real or not real, I'd dig these rules. Could this be a stunt on the part of BoW to get GW to start thinking?

  • I say go for it. It is a vast improvement on the joke that is 5th ed. Even if it isnt GW sanctioned (wich is very likely because there is so much logic in these rules) then still do batreps and tips, because this is the ruleset which 40k needs to aspire to. Fun ? omg balanced ? All they would need to do after this is adjust their fuckwit prices and they would once again be an excellent company, not just the biggest whores in the tabletop gaming community.

  • i think you should do it. and possible try to get permission to put in an ebook or something. or possibly even a pdf!

  • Go for it!

  • DO IT !

  • Realism FTW!!!!

  • dont ditch 5th all together, just state which ruleset you use at the beginning of vids, im thinking about codex releases here

  • I would do both but a bit more when 6th is a month or so away.

  • One comment on the titan issue you talked about. I want to see ANYONE who has made an eldar titan

  • I love Something for the Weekend, so go for it. If it doesn't work out then at least you gave something different a try.

  • Go with it, even if its wrong it might inspire GW or if its right might be valuable beta testing, and that's good since it might make a better game for everyone.

  • i do know they change the rules every so often i have been involved in the game since rogue trader 1st ed in the 80`s. i am saying until we know wether they are going to be official from GW. you shouldnt be using them to show how the game is played after all they could be written by a nerd in his basement(albeit a genius nerd) you could play it and show the batrep as long you make sure you show it is not the official ruleset and dont ignore the official ones for the likes of noobies.

  • @jamieoliver1976 Considering that people are calling it a fake based on numerous facts, this video is sort of a waste of time and the video title is misleading.

  • @JackoLantern007

It says "If this book is real".

    IF.

  • @JackoLantern007 There is waay more proof that its a genuin leak, then there is proof of it beeing a fake...

And don't quote me the Bloodofkittens post wher they say" Its fake because its fake and we search in google for 2 days"..., thats the lamest excuse i've ever seen in my life.

A bit like GW saying "the black Box isn't Space Hulk" where 2 weeks later...it was actually Space Hulk...

  • @Mugthraka Its more the people that searched into it have come up with the fact that it wasn't written by GWPLC, it was written by some person in Glasgow translated badley from a German source. It was written using 1.5 when GW uses 1.6. Lots of things like that point it to be a fake.

  • this is a great ruleset, if games-workshop doesnt do something like this, then we know they are ignorant, because their fanbase loves it

  • DO IT, i wanna see this crushing strike ROFL plus it sounds fking fun as hell @_@ way more enjoyable then the last few games of 40k i played.. even if its fking 100% wrong or fake id still print out a copy and game using it with pals lolol

  • Try a game out see how it plays and please record it!

  • OMFG BoW BATREPS?!?! DO IT DO IT!

  • Id love to see you guys do batreps!.

  • you have to do a battle report its the one thing that your channel has been missing and

i would love to see how the "new" game plays

  • "Makes your bog standerd marine a lot better" ....................og gosh aren they OP enough.

  • @PretentiousPainters on the flip side, tau also get a huge boost from some of the new shooting rules (rail being the most notable)

  • I like some of the ideas and they make since. But I can see it being a shot in the foot.

  • hey... just do it eh

  • 1 book to replace both core rules and suppliment books for gw...ha don't count on it warren that loses gw money and they won't do it so that might be clue one that this isn't 6th but only time will tell and maybe gw will make me eat my words.

  • I'd love to see more of this. It's just to bad that GW will probably have it wiped out and sue the crap out of anyone who posted or downloaded it.

  • This Monday, I was having a bud over to play a game of 40K. When I got my hands on this download, I've already opted to try these new bits out. DO IT! :]

  • THIS DISCUSTS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jnsstudo Discusts ???

  • @milton1969able

It might be a play on the words disgust and discuss.

  • I like it! It would be noice for a change and it would make me see more videos, so do it guys!

  • I want to see some battle reports with this new ruleset...

Just make sure you read up on the rules a little more. If you use a pistol as a primary weapon in an assault, then you only get the number of attacks in the weapons profile, rather than the character. And you only get an extra attack if the model has an identical pistol.

  • boo to the bidding portion.

  • Can't wait til BOW is doing a Vampire week!!! So excited!!!

  • Ya, do it

  • Battle Reports featuring this system would be a must see, though it would be great if it was more padded... just so people can keep up with what your reading doing minor explanations of core setup and changes as they occur. Long videos will be long, but amazing. thanks guys!

  • AoBR had a "simple rulebook" so i would say that 5th did have one. just not "sold separately"
