The song is called Rokdim Yechifim, and it is by Yehuda Poliker. It is an Israeli Folk Dance created in 1993 by Shmulik Gov-Ari, and is very common among Messianic dancers as well. When danced by Messianic dancers, their is commonly a lot of switching in the middle, clapping, and extra turns, as seem here (the choreography in this video is adapted from Shmulik's), but when danced by jews or Israelis, it is more common to hold hands the entire dance, and not clap or turn.
@RakdanimShelAdonai I hope that information was helpful for you guys. You can buy the song or a video of the Israeli method of doing the dance at rokdim .co.il/rikudim/f_rikud.asp?rikudId=7817&mode=info
It's not the same version of the song as is in this video though. I have never heard this version of the song before.
God bless ISRAËL , superbe vidéo , merci !! D.ieu vous bénisse dans le + plus beau des NOms "JESUS de NAZARETH" YESHUA notre Roi des Rois , Seigneur des Seigneurs ! Amen !
That's right. Jews are from the tribe of Judah. Lost tribes were part of the state of Northern Israel, Judah was the state of the Southern part of Holy Land.
Hi just wanted you to know I'm on this team and the drums are goat skin hand drums made in the middle east and were bought on our last trip to Israel =)
Awesome is the Lord our God!!This song and dance is so beautiful,it made my spirit want to leap for the joy of the Lord is strongly connected to this video.
Very nice it was a joy to watch. I noticed alot of different cultural influences in it which made it (atleast to me) feel more world encompassing as if all are being called back into the celebration of the lord.
Sorry, my bad, Rakdu Yechefim is the most usual spelling. You'll sometimes see it given as Rokdim Yechefim. It means "dancing barefoot" or "they danced barefoot", by the way.
I am an South Indian-Tamilian, the tool used here is called "kol" in tamil , this dance is called koalaatam in our tradition...its a very old traditional folk dance still practised in rural villages during local festivals..Please search "dance forms of tamilnadu" in wikipedia..hope I answered your question...God Bless!!
the dance is not a south Indian dance. This dance is a traditional Israeli Dance that was re-choreographed using modern Israeli steps. We use 24 inch hand drums and normal drum sticks for this dance. The choreographer used the 4 drums to represent the "four winds"in the bible and the sticks from the bible verse in Ezekiel 37. Just thought you should know =)
Oh really..thank you very much for the info....our kollattam is very much similar...we used to call this as kol...You guys had done an awesome job, much appreciated...anyways thank you very much for the info
In Ezekiel 37:15-23, it talks about 2 sticks of wood. One was to have written on it, "Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him." The second stick of wood was to have, " Ephraim's stick, belonging to Joseph, and all the house of Israel associated with him." written on it. It goes on in verse 17... "Join them together into one stick so that they will become one in your hand. Verses 18-23 go on to describe what those sticks represent. This is where the dance was created!
I forgot to tell you, For Zion's Sake has another video on you tube under "For His Name's Sake." It's a 3 minute promotional clip that we use to let people know who we are. Check it out! Thanks =)
you said the name of the music is rokdim yechelim but you din't say who the artist is and the dvd's(for his name sake concert 2007)is this the one you are talking about?Should i buy both or one or the other?what are on the dvd's just music or musicand teaching or what? are there upcoming events posted? THANK YOU sooooo much for answering all my questions
Our team doesn't know the artist for this music, we were given a cd by someone who made a copy and gave it to us as a gift. Maybe you could google the name and see what you can find. On our website you can by the Paul Wilbur concert series DVD, which has everything we did that weekend. It has no teaching it's all music and dance if you're interested. We do have a schedule of events listed on our web site, but as of now we don't have everything listed, it will be updated in May.
