If God creates the person, he creates the conditions for a person to grow up and feel a certain way. God would be unjust if he purposely created someone just for the fun of torturing them all their lives and then sending them to hell after. The fact is that there may or may not be a God but I don't think the Christian Bible represents God's views. Christians are not bad, just brainwashed.
I think people are just born the way they are born. I have seen some men that are so feminine that they nearly look like women. Some of these type of men do turn out to be attracted to other men and it is obviously because of their bio-chemistry. If God hates that, he should stop making people of various shapes, sizes, degrees of masculinity and femininity.
@strangedecadence lol you must be a homosexual! most gay people get offended by the bible. gay christian? better off worshiping Satan, he doesn't care what type of sin you do.
Excuse me for having one video where it appears to a person I an generalizing... I was raised a christian and sometimes our childhood habits come back...
This video was posted a while ago when the news was overloaded with store of very large christian church groups protesting such things, heads of churches doing interviews and so on.
... Because religious institutions are the only groups who have ever said homosexuality was wrong. I mean, the Romans, Greeks, etc, they all engaged in homosexuality. It was pretty much a normal everyday thing for them. And I think we can pretty much show conclusively that religion is the only opposition, therefore if gay marriage isn't legal, it can only be because of religion, and therefore a violation of seperation of church and state.
Christians are so far beyond any common sense. They all know that gay people are born that way, but they ignore that fact so they can keep promoting that bullshit about how gay people getting married will turn children gay. Any child whose going to be gay, is going to be that way, and any child who isn't has no chance of becoming gay, thats just the way it is. What gets to me is how this isn't a complete violation of seperation of church and state.
people getting angry over homosexuality is very suspicious, for it's impossible to hate what you don't recognize. The link between religion and homosexuality however is evident.. when you meet somebody that is against homosexuality, it's pretty exceptional to find this person to be an atheist. People that study the Bible and Qur'an academically, can't find any evidence of homosexually being wrong, nor that two people of the same sex can't get married. it's all human interpretation.
The thing about the Bible is that it doesn't "say" anything--it's interpreted, often twisted, to say whatever people want it to say. People today use the Bible to smack GLBTQ folks over the head, they used it to "support" slavery in the 19th century... It's ridiculous. Everyone should mind their own business. Thanks for your words of support?
You make some good points and are balanced, unlike many of the religious arguments here and I think your promoting the right kind of tolerance and appreciation.
But, since you asked, leviticus is where it denounces homosexuality, lev.18:22 and more clearly lev.20:13 Which says clearly to kill both people if they commit homosexual acts
Which is exactly why Jesus cast
Also the sins of Sodom are never clearly defined in Genesis but in Ezekiel its said to be deadly sins
you place many good points.....you are extremely smart...I've never even opened a bible so I couldn't argue there....and I honestly know how shitty people can make you feel by pulling the "oh your gay...?" or the "Oh you don't believe in god...?" bullshit...I've heard "Oh you don't believe in god...?" way too much...well what I'mtrying to say is you have a great eye opening video that I shall share around with my family and friends....have a god day
and it would be nice, white, if people refrained from insulting remarks. but i am tired of people thinking that i am immoral and all b/c i am an atheist when i have more morals than most christians i know. but honestly, it is highly difficult to repspect a religion that basically took every aspect of their beleifs from other religions...
White, Chrisitans have had the reign in America since the begining, so if there is a rise in comments against christianinty, christians have brought in on there own so suck it up.Turn about is fair play, you and I both know that.
On the other hand it's completely understandable since there are alot of Christians who don't live Christ-like... which is what a christian is supposed to be. I think if Christians actually live what they believe, there wouldn't be so much animosity towards Christianity. Also there are a number of references to homosexuality being wrong in the Bible. I feel many people confuse lust with love. Anyway it would be nice if people with differing views would refrain from insulting remarks.
Soldiers of god are just cannon fodder in god eternal war with himself.

@strangedecadence (Holy Bible) Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

@jamjr1972 Well, there we go. Yet just another reason I'm happy to not be a christian.

There is plenty of anger directed at Christians as well. And guess what?? That disturbs me.
