Sad but lovely. The morning after 9/11 I went into the office at work shell-shocked like everyone else and I put the Sting webcast recording up on my computer and this came on, and it seemed so fitting. Thinking of that day today.
If someone broke into your home and killed everyone there (if you had family members sleeping) would your first thought be, "I wonder what their religion is? "Of course not. You would want to seek justice for the innocent lives that were lost. They did not deserve to die. Had they known this would happen, they would not have put themselves in harm's way. You would have told them in advance if you knew. So many lives lost, needlessly. To what end? Did the murderers please their god? I think not.
hey everyone, can't you just stop fighting for once? all this fighting over who is right & who is wrong is what caused this day to happen in the 1st place. can't we just please, get along. It's in Italy at his estate. This was supposed to be a celebration and international telecast for the release of an album, I believe. You can glance around and see the stellar lineup. Firstly, the vast majority of Native Americans who died because of Europeans died due to disease- often before the Europeans themselves even reached the natives (the old world diseases spread ahead of them).

85% of world's wealth and resources go to the Global North (The U.S. and its allies), which is only 20% of the world's population. Other 80% of the world live in total poverty. No one seems to sing songs and care about those dying because of hunger and basic human needs. I am not justifying terrorism, but unless the U.S. stops acting like a tyrant, stops stealing resources from the undeveloped countries, and share the same, terrorism is the only unconventional way of the weak to act.

Not trying to victimize civilians, we have plenty of ignorant monkeys, but I think things are a bit more complicated than that. People seem to use the word "US" as some sort of all-inclusive force. In honesty, your global scope can be applied to the US itself. 1% of the population wields all the wealth and power here. There is plenty of poverty and inequality in the US as is elsewhere. The US is not a tyranny, the people that run things are, as are the leaders of many other nations.

I fell sorry for the 9/11 victims but i also fell sorry for over several million people that died in Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam. And Americans are terrorists too. My country was bombed by the Americans and thousands of innocent people died in that bombing.

The song is dedicated to those innocents just going to work on 9/11 and the brave men and women who scrawled their SS numbers on their skin so they could be identified if they were killed.
