  • One thing for sure is that if the shop clerks dump food on the floor in this sloppy manner, they'll get fired in Japan. Perhaps one fair standard that the whole world may agree is to optimize the energy consumption over one man's life.

  • they DO waste food. if the apple is not perfect, they won't sell it. if there are marks or dents or imperfections on the vegetables, they won't sell it. they don't display anything that is not perfect to buy. that is why they have fake food displays, everrrrywhere in japan.

  • i think you mistaken japan for america

  • yes, i understand that but

cant you do it without insulting?

  • Its not propaganda its asking food companies to donate the food to the poor instead of throwing it away. A perfectly noble request. If you're insulted by pointing out a flaw in the modern supermarket culture thats your own problem.

  • just anoother propaganda

  • 日本だけじゃないはずだと思いますけど?

  • Wow, I've never seen food just thrown away like that. D8

  • So true. It's so upsetting. There is a lot of food wasted...in this commercial! Damn.

  • なにこれ!?また某国の仕業か!?

    日本の店員が床にボトボト食べ物落とすとかありえないでしょ。こんなことしたら店長に怒られるっつーの。

  • @HAINE817

    こんなのを自分で見たことがある。

  • it is not true

  • really? 2/3 of good food is wasted in america.

  • all i can say is give me food

  • The uploader that is satisfied to understand this commercial by half.

  • wow that looks really delicious

  • result of capitalism

  • um.....lmao this is so stupid and not true. most restaurants use every part of the animal in their meals and they are smart enough to probably throw the stuff away in trash bins instead of just throw it on the store floors lol! trust me this is fabricated bs!

  • wth???? y did they even make this video??? they should mind they're own business. give me proof that supports ur thoery.

  • lol how do you know if im japanese or not? Im japanese smart one

  • because normal japanese dont obsess over sushi. do you see americans saying "ilovemcdonalds" or italians saying "ilovepizza" or indians saying "ilovecurry" as their username? UHh no. WOW u are obsessed in japan so much that you even think that ur japanese and tell people on youtube ur japanese = lame. I FEEL SO SORRY FOR YOU. u want to be japanese so bad that you even claim your jap. keep pretending your japanese - ur living a lie. how does it feel like being something ur not and will never be?

  • WHAT THE HELL, MAN? just because someone's japanese doesn't mean they can't obsess over something from their homeland.

......then again, sushi isn't exactly from japan, technically it originated from china, but THAT'S NOT THE POINT. TWO CAMELS IN A TINY CAR. oh, and I'm japanese too, btw.

  • @netaiiyo

Sushi is exactly from Japan !

If you talk about Nare-zushi , you maybe right.

But Nigiri-zushi is the Japanese food which started to eat in Edo-era.

  • @RapidEyesCream ......chip?

  • @gabsylv sushi?

  • i heard california wastes the most, and it is very agreeable

  • I believe the rate is even higher in the states, probably at 40-50%. NO joke.

  • Yeah, don't McDonald's have to throw their burgers if they aren't served withing 5 minutes from when they were made? Some crazy shit though xD

  • i just hope none of the 1/3 of Japaneses food was meat.

  • clean up all over lolz

  • wata waste of food

  • Why don't you take action against this company? If you want to justfy what your organization doing right thing.

  • As I commented before, the store I was working did wasted tons of goods unfortunately. however, I know there are stores that save goods, too. It depends on company's policy. I do not understand people made this film why they only pick JAPANESE. Did they investigate all contries in this world? I would like to read their report if they have. We do not food fight in Japan though.....

  • Because this video was made by an NPO called Second Harvest Japan to promote their activities in Japan and explain the need for their services here.

  • This is very true. The japanese are terrible wasters.

Oh and I love the all too typical japanese approach to their negative side. "Well, people waste in other countries, too." Yes. We are very aware of this problem but this video is specifically about japan. Now that you know this you japanese and your japanophile pets what is japan going to do about this problem other than making excuses?

  • why don't you just go look in your own backyard and see how much America is wasting.

  • This is very true. The japanese are terrible wasters.

Oh and I love the all too typical japanese approach to their negative side. "Well, people waste in other countries, too." Yes. (Thanks for proving my point)

  • the WRONG thing to do is point the finger and be rude(however you wouldn't understand that i wasn't talking about the video but just your stupidity)

    btw

that's very ignorant of you to say something as dumb as you did considering that its JAPANESE RUN PROGRAM!

try not to scrutinize and generalize other races and people man. it'll definitely help you out in the long run. maybe you'll learn something from this unless you think you're too old for learn a lesson :]

    (thanks for proving MY point)

  • the only thing you prove is my point which happens to be....."The japanese are terrible wasters.

Oh and I love the all too typical japanese approach to their negative side. "Well, people waste in other countries, too." Yes. We are very aware of this problem but this video is specifically about japan. Now that you know this you japanese and your japanophile pets what is japan going to do about this problem other than making excuses?"

  • did you just completely miss my point?

This whole program is RUN by the Japanese!

We're helping ourselves by putting up a program such as this...

gosh man...you are really blind if you missed that one

  • Gosh. typical japanese you are. Read what I wrote.....................several times. You are typical japanese. It takes you people about three times for it to sink in because you skulls are so thick.

  • maybe your skull is the thick one in the fact that u didn't get what i said!!!

I know we are terrible wasters!..as is every other country with a huge economy. get a grip man. I'm will accept responsibility for my country but i will also put out the fact that other countries do it as well. At LEAST we're doing something about it.

  • As I thought. You are worse than your brethren. Sure japan is doing something about it.......... now after others countries started doing it and then once you start you THEN start pointing your fingers as if you stand on some kind of moral high ground.

    NOW do you get it?

  • ahh whatever dude. im tired of talking to you. its over

  • Glad to see you got my point.

  • whatever.

  • But, but, but you said it was over and now you come back.

Anyhoo, glad to see you got my point.

  • i don't accept your point...The REASON i want to stop talking to you is because this is senseless arguing back and forth about something that neither of us will accept. So...I'm glad that I realized that'd it'd be smart for me to become the bigger man in this situation...

Now i Hope you won't reply back...so then it CAN be over..because Im SURE ur tired of talking to me because i sure am tired of talking back and forth to you.

  • Glad to see you got my point.

  • okay, okay little one... you can have the last word...

    :]

  • VERY GLAD to see you got my point. :)

  • you are a tool. a racist, ignorant, tool.

get a fucking clue, you try way too hard to be intellectual and you fail incredibly. i myself am not japanese so your "typical" view on people doesnt apply to me. fact is, yes they do waste food, but its true with ALL developed countries, including your own. they address this issue and obviously have a campaign against it. so wtf are you bitching about?

  • you have no valid points. you claim that they all make excuses, all have thick skulls, refer to them as 'you people', and then go on to claim that "other" countries were fixing this issue first. show me some proof, you can't because you are so blinded by your intolerance that you assume other countries done it first. you're just bitter and obviously prejudice. don't spew bullshit, just because you were dick slapped by a jap who had a bigger cock than you.

  • I`m Japanese but I`ve never seen this things happening in Japan. We use eggs for Manure and Recycle paper. Most drink will be sold out in a day so we don`t get any trash.

  • ever seen the Seinfeld episode with the muffin tops?

  • When I was working at SUPERSTORE in Canada, We dumped tons of foods. If any corner or edge of boxes are not square, We dumped.

If any bags were not sealed tight(Suger, rice,

wheat end even pet foods),We dumped.

To donate foods are companie's fake performance. It is not from the heart of manager and executive. If you work any fast food restaurant, you experience more.

  • I live in America, and the old food goes to discount stores like Big Lots. The boxes in Big Lots are smashed and torn open. It is a real trash dump in there.

  • in America we have Food drives about twice a year, Donating food is all year round if you want, But yes theres still Alot of food that gets wasted, it only last for so long

  • Sad but true. Japanese are very sensitive about freshness of food. I wonder how the rest of the world deals with this kind of problem.

  • even if it's true, most industrialized countries must have the same conditions. have you never wasted the food???

  • Personally, I don't. The study in Japan showed that consumable food left in garbage is almost 40%, about 11% of food is still in the original package. Most of them are from hotels and lodgings and Parties like wedding, and other gatherings.

  • This kinda seems like pointing the blame on JUST japan, the reality is that food's wasted no matter where you are, not only that-but ironically they wasted food for this commercial.

  • This is NOT just Japan, you find exactly the same phenomenon in any country where food is plentiful.

Having said that, most food shortages aren't caused by a simple lack of food, but by something (such as a war) upsetting the distribution of food. Food handouts help in the short term but the long term requires peace and stability.

  • @nokiagaming

Don't be a fool. Those foods are expired. You sound like they throw foods away because they have plenty of them

  • LOLMAO. As long as they can afford wasting the food its okay. Id understand if they had some major loans because of that...

  • Funny. Just a couple of days ago I read in my local newspaper and there was a post from a Swedish resident (I am from Sweden) in Japan commenting on the waste of food done by some grocery stores in Sweden. He wrote that the same problem had been solved in Japan - that they did not waste food in Japan.

  • where is the source about one third

  • Food wasted making the comercial

  • exactly

  • It's FAKE

  • It is true. In KFC or Mc Donalds whatever is in the holder before closing and not sold have to be thrown away not even employees can take that home or giving it to someone in need.

  • Yes, this is fact.

    this video shows that apparently.

    it's not fiction.

not only japan, many developped coutries are same conditions.

  • I need facts. These might just be actors.

  • Surely this is true of most developed countries? Not that that is an excuse.

  • True, we waste a lot of good food here in Canada too. But things are improving, recently we've started giving it to less fortunate people. Once a week, people with a low income can get good food for free.

  • That kicks ass! Wow, I wish we were so altruistic in England. I visited Canada once on holiday. Absolutely loved it. The people seemed really friendly.

  • Farmers are even growing extra crops for them and giving away the milk they can't sell! Restaurants, caterers and grocery stores are also gathering good food for the people who are in need. And during Christmas time they can get a 'Christmas Basket' which is more than just food! It includes hygienic products, clothes, toys for kids and even some money!

    I'm really proud of this!

  • People used to do that in America, especially restaurants. If someone got something they didn't order, or they made too much of something, they'd give it to the local homeless guy on the corner instead, just to be nice. But then some moron sued the people that were giving him food, because he accidentally got food poisoning once. Now nobody will risk being kind. It's messed up, but I can't say I blame 'em. If people bite the hand that feeds 'em, they won't be fed.
