@xEMeehanx "its about attitude, its about freedom, its about rock n roll!!" I agree, amazing speech. If I'm lucky enough someday to be in a famous rock band, I hope I can have half the attitude and be half as cool for half as long as Aerosmith!!
Great music. Horrible editing (though not handitarded's fault). I wish they had a zoomed-in shot of Joe's guitar from the font when he plays his solos.
Fuck yeah! There's many bands and artists from the seminal 70's still out there playing live that really should retire. You can tell which ones too... it's the ones that no longer move or play with energy. This clearly ain't one of those bands.
YOu know its bands like these KISS, OZZY, AEROSMITH, that even kids today in age know the classics and everyone sings it with the band at the concerts that is what you call legends
As for their comparison to the Stones, the truth is that Aerosmith were big fans of (and influenced by) the Stones. Steven used to go around saying he was Mick Jagger when Aerosmith got their start. Supposedly he used to get is a** kicked for saying this back then. In my opinion, they are better than the Stones. And they certainly have continued to record and tour much longer than the Stones did. But technically, the Stones have had more hits than they have..
It makes me feel a little bit happier about my generation seing all those young people there instead of at a motherfuckin' Black Eyed Peas "concert" listening to their "music".
@cfhscheer its funny you say that cuz I happen to be in that group of young people and I know exactly what you mean. I feel better about my generation when I see people my age at these shows I'm 20 and I've seen Aerosmith 8 times, Motley Crue twice (soon to be 3 times), Rush 3 times, and Van Halen once with David Lee Roth. The shit that passes for mainstream music nowadays, with the exception of a select few rock bands, is terrible. Long Live Rock!!!
The older Aerosmith is the better of their best songs by far. In the time there was freewheeling and no abandon with it all. The creativitity was better with less. In the time of their hay day, it was common to go to one of their shows and see flaundering about mostly because of the recurational usage and all, so the songs themselfs recorded were better, like many others. To compare them to others is a disservice to them, they were not the best, but they did rock it with them at the time. )
Years ago during the night I was luckily enough to be able to lead your trucks to the St. Paul Civic Center,Minnesota. You gave me two pass's to the show. You guys changed my life forever! Not only is Aerosmith the BEST but I went on to work in audio for bands and concerts. Wouldn't have seen the light if it hadn't been for you guy's. Thanks a million.
@DJDansound I'm sick of people thinking that Aerosmith wish they were the stones. Why does everyone compare Aerosmith to the Rolling Stones? They rock too hard and play too loud to sound like the stones. The rolling stones are pussy shit compared to Aerosmith. If anything they sound more like led zeppelin. Aerosmith are better than both of those bands anyway. Aerosmith dont have to wish they were anyone. everyone wishes they were Aerosmith
It's funny how Tyler and Perry are still fighting over stage volume. When Joe Perry has his head down jamming, Steve Tyler gestures to the sound man to reduce Perry's volume. The editors of the video cut to the girl with the shirt saying, "If it's too loud, you're too old." Just hilarious. Tyler is such a drama queen.
If you want to see and hear the original rock guitarist that played the distortion licks on this song 1956.(covered by this group and others).Search-Paul Burlison..Go down to-Rock and Roll Trio-Part Three..second song..then go to the original cut in 1956..Johnny Burnette..Train Kept Rollin
probably the best version Aerosmith ever did, but it still lacks in the guitar solo department compared to Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter on the original studio version from "Get Your Wings". That could be the best guitar duel ever laid down. They came in rattled that amazing shit off and left. No mention on the album either.
Many people say this is their favorite Aerosmith tune and it's because of the guitars..well at least it is to me. Hunter and Wagner..best ever.
No band out there rocks like Aerosmith!! Theyre the best ever!! If I could rock half as hard, for half as long, and be half as cool I could die a happy man!! Somebody has to keep their fuckin train rollin all night long when theyre gone...I'll do it as best as I can if I have to haha. who's with me?!
@012jack012 Brad is an amazing guitar player, and probably the most underrated guitar player ever. He has so many great solos, like in Last Child, obviously in Train Kept a Rollin, theres too many to list. look up the vid of mama kin from japan 2002 at the world cup. brad has a kick ass solo in that song
yeah i don't know why but when they did 2 almost identical concerts they mixed some of the video together and i think they took the best version of each songs audio and put the mixed video with it.
During some of the songs i noticed brad had 2 different guitars and tom as well but other than that the mixing was pretty good.
@lapislegit1993 most concert movie are filmed in 2 or 3 cities over a couple concerts so a mistake made one night can be covered by the correct part from the next night
This the best concert closing song EVER!!!!!!! Nobody can touch Aerosmith, and especially their version of this song. I've heard so many other covers by other bands, and nobody's comes close to theirs.
@aerosmithmotleycrue The first Rock and Roll cover of the song was by Johnny Burnette and the Rock and Roll Trio in 1956. It was way ahead of it's time, and one of the wildest Rockabilly songs. It's their version that all the other Rock bands are covering.
This song give me goosebumps every time I hear it. Saw Aerosmith a couple of times in their prime and loved when they played this song. Great live version here.
Having a really great 'rave-up', just like The Yardbirds did 39 years before. Some things change with time, others not so much. Glad to see this is the latter not the former.
Great song, but it would have been better if the drummer had played the singles part on the snare instead of just keep playing the beat. besides that they still rock.
@jbassman666 I have this dvd and it is edited so I have noticed. I dont know why they did it, but they did. They took the audio from one show and pieced the videos from two shows together, then put the audio and video collage together
Sometimes Steven just talks way too much and tries to sound so clever. Honestly, this band hasn't rocked since Night In the Ruts. Maybe a few tracks off of Pump, too. But anything after that is total sh*t. And Joe Perry will attest to that personally.
@EzrinJem2 i agree to a certain extent , theres 20 songs after rock in a hard place that i like , rock in a hard place was a Excelent album , night in the ruts is great and my favourite draw the line! they need to get back on heroin if they make a new album i think ...
@EzrinJem2 trust me they still rock. I like all of their stuff, but obviously the old stuff is way better, my favorite album ever being Rocks. Every song on that album is pure gold. I listen to pretty much all of their stuff, except most of Just Push Play (too poppy). They still rock, considering they have torn the house down everytime I've seen them, but they have to get rid of the outside song writers. Steven, Joe, Brad, Tom, and Joey have to sit down and write by themselves I think.
aerosmith went to venezuela some days ago, i was in that concert but the sound was not so good, but wathever, this is one of the best band of all time
@handitarded I've read the autobiography. The reason Brad doesn't get the spotlight is because he's humble enough to keep back and let the real rock legends, Joe and Steven, lead the way and pull him up with them. I really doubt anyone would be upset to be the unimportant member of FUCKING AEROSMITH. I agree with you completely on all other parts of your comment, though. Fucking epic.
@handitarded Absolutely. However, Brad acknowledged that Steven and Joe basically carried him up. There's no question he's unbelievably talented, but he's by no means the crowd pleaser.
@handitarded Yeah! Its not Aerosmith without any of them! When Joe and Brad was gone for some years Joey said It wasnt Aerosmith cause it was only him, Steven and Tom
@handitarded it was always said Brad was an integral part of the chemistry. he plays rhythm guitar and never was in out front kind of guy. but his place in the lineup is what is. you can see it in his face as he concentrates on the others while he plays. seemingly connects all of the different sections.
Brad plays alot of the lead for aerosmith , he done half of Aerosmith , most of rocks , some of night in the ruts and live he does just about every song with a exception of few :D , brad is more of a schooled style guitarist and is very layed back , joe is self taught and uses emotion to trigger a solo which is better in way's but also worse :)

The only reason brad is underatted is that he's not as energetic as joe or steven but the band together are unbeleivably talented
The best live band EVER in my opinion
handitarded 1 year ago 75
@handitarded you're right my friend! Aerosmith is the best live band i've seen, nobody can beat them
FloydRockFan 1 year ago
@handitarded I've read the autobiography. The reason Brad doesn't get the spotlight is because he's humble enough to keep back and let the real rock legends, Joe and Steven, lead the way and pull him up with them. I really doubt anyone would be upset to be the unimportant member of FUCKING AEROSMITH. I agree with you completely on all other parts of your comment, though. Fucking epic.
jmerridew124 1 year ago
@handitarded Absolutely. However, Brad acknowledged that Steven and Joe basically carried him up. There's no question he's unbelievably talented, but he's by no means the crowd pleaser.
jmerridew124 1 year ago
@handitarded Yeah! Its not Aerosmith without any of them! When Joe and Brad was gone for some years Joey said It wasnt Aerosmith cause it was only him, Steven and Tom
Dustehue928 1 year ago
@handitarded I don't think Brad could have done better than he already did by any stretch of the imagination.

@handitarded Agree!!!!!!!!!!

The Greatest American Hard Rock band ever -
Aerosmith!
lzrb 1 year ago
@handitarded it was always said Brad was an integral part of the chemistry. he plays rhythm guitar and never was in out front kind of guy. but his place in the lineup is what is. you can see it in his face as he concentrates on the others while he plays. seemingly connects all of the different sections.

didnt know that brad played so good impros
PRISI0NER0123 1 year ago
why is Brad playing leadguitar on some points? I know he and Joe is playing dualguitars but still =S I like Joe more xD
AmnellAndreas 1 year ago
Brad plays alot of the lead for aerosmith , he done half of Aerosmith , most of rocks , some of night in the ruts and live he does just about every song with a exception of few :D , brad is more of a schooled style guitarist and is very layed back , joe is self taught and uses emotion to trigger a solo which is better in way's but also worse :)
