The Starwars Empire beats most Sci-Fi civilizations, they have advantage in numbers, firepower, shields and speed. For example, it takes Voyager 70 years to cross the galaxy, Starwars ships take like 2 days to do that.
Still, the Daleks or the Timelords would win a battle against the Empire xD
@EsmeWeatherwax Star wars may have faster ships but in star trek the shields are more powerful lasers, in one episode a litlle ship with lasers tried to attack the enterprise and they said it would take 100 years to get threw. also phasers and anti matter torpedo way more powerful then a laser. just saying
@Fjsouth not really. Federation vessels seem to have issues with plasma based weapons which is just about every weapon in starwars. Besides a Star Destroyer can glass a planet pretty quickly while it would take the enterprise a while.
@Alexodia most of the weapons in star wars are light based lasers turbo lasers... yes a star destroyer could glass a planet. but your forgetting star trek has anti matter torpedo's a couple of grams of anti matter could level Chicago. so if a torpedo has a couple 100 pounds of it on board what do u think will happen, also phases tuned correctly can rip the atmosphere off a planet
@Fjsouth Nope. Lasers are light speed weapons. Turbo-lasers are way slower than lightspeed. Also they use Tibanna gas and turn it into plasma before releasing their bursts so they too are plasma. Photon torpedoes are photonic which is light. A turbo lasers output is roughly 7600 terajoules and a star destroyer on screen has at least 26 turbo lasers with unknown numbers of laser cannons, and 8 Heavy TBLs. Now laser is a misnomer as Turbo lasers are more accurately called Turbo-Blasters.
Tie fighters use Stabilizers, if they turn their Stabilizers off they can do exactly that Turn and shoot deal, but they fly so fast that they run the risk of crashing which is why it's rare,
if they tried doing it as slowly as the Vipers do it, then they would be sitting ducks, that Viper should have been destroyed as it was turning.
bit inaccurate in how they lost that Nebulon B too, the shields alone on that thing are able to withstand gigatons worth of punishment.
all in all the Empire has a huge advantage, in firepower, shielding, numbers, and so forth Colonials fear nukes, The Empire doesn't,
still, inaccuracies aside this vid is spectacular, and it is nice how the Empire wins without even trying, TIEs barely maneuvered and none of the Imperial ships fired much, lost a few as a result but meh, Trillions more where that came from.
course, if just one of those Star Destroyers let lose with all it's guns the battle would be over after the opening salvo.

colonials cos their ships can turn and shoot where as the tie fighters have 2 go straight on. however their isnt that many battlestars in the series
