Foam rolling is a great tool for preventative maintenance, and can relieve your legs from small knots, and myofascial adhesions. It takes daily consistency to get the best results. Warming up for 10 minutes prior will make a big difference to allow the tissues to be more pliable. If you have a real painful spot, ice it for 15 minutes immediately after to decrease inflammation to create the best environment for the tissue to heal.
If after consistent work on the foam roller, your muscles still aren't feeling better, I suggest going to see a soft-tissue specialist you can assess, and treat you properly.
how much does it hurt when you havent done it for a while? love it, its like a good pain though, a release of tension.
