@Xombiezlive The band's album Fallen took it's name from Lauren Wood's song Fallen. The Open Door album takes it's name from a Helen Keller book of the same title. Keller is from Alabama same as me. The band all claim to be from Arkansas but this was a reference to Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell performing the song "Two Little Girls from Little Rock". Def Leppard and music producer Mutt Lange loved to make references to Monroe (see Photograph vid). As did Madonna who I wrote songs for.

In fact, in 1986 "The Wynfrey Hotel" was built in Birmingham, AL which is where many artists stay when in Bham. Oprah came from the character Harpo's name in The Color Purple and I named her Entertainment company Harpo for him. She was upset about it and why she has now changed it.

This is why the lead singer of Evanescence makes claims her parents started a ministry.

This song means so much to me. It practically describes me. It's about hiding in her room, hiding from her screaming parents (monsters) and creating a better world.
This is my favorite song of theirs. The lyrics are original, her voice more beautiful than a siren, and she translates emotions so efficiently with her voice, I can feel her pulling my heart in the directions she chooses.
I haven't listened to this song since middle school (about 5/6 years) and i can still sing along. My goodness i've missed imaginary fields of paper flowers.

@Nijichan3 Yeah, I can see how it is happy, because dreams/daydreams are often the happiest parts of life. She says 'your reality' which implies that her dreams/daydreams are her own reality. That makes sense, because our thoughts are real which makes dreaming a real part of life as well. To me this song is sort of like choosing the happy dreaming part of life to be real, and letting what most people consider to be 'reality' be just a nightmare that can easily be dreamt away :)
A lot of people would call me wierd because I wear a lot of dark clothes, I love playing a particular game, I listen to alot of rock/alternative music and I read and go on my Laptop a lot. But after hearing this song, I feel like someone understands me. EVENESCENCE RULES!

i can so relate to this...idk if it sounds crazy, but i spend hours making up imaginary worlds. i figure its a creative outlet...and a part of human nature (though i might take it to the extreme). either way, these song lyrics are very poetic. Evanescence is an awesome group.
