note this glider does not have useable landing gear and it has no fold away prop he broke the prop in this video at 5:40 look closely hope this help's if your gonna buy this then i strongly recommend fitting tape on the under and a collapsable prop happy flying ;)

You need to configure the ESC for electronic braking so that the folding prop will retract properly and not create unnecessary drag. Other than that, very nice!

this plane sucks Pete! you all should buy the Phoenix 2 from merit rc. it`s much better! there its no problems with anything, and its so easy to fly. Wingspann 2000mm :D its perfekt!

Yes, that is how I ordered mine I use my DX7 on everything I buy now.

There is a selection box to get radio with or save something like $25 and use your own.

It is 4 channel so as long as you are using your own gear that has the settings for spoilerons or flapperons with extra channel on rx you can do that with any plane that uses 2 aileron servos.

The charger included is a small cheap looking box with a separate power chord with alligator clips to one end.

I bought this plane's little brother. the 6.5' one and I was a bit surprised of the battery included.

The battery box was ripped open and seems another battery was dropped in the box.

The battery is nothing to what the manual shows.

I believe that is a bit dangerous.

How does the pilot know when the glider battery has low energy except by timing the flight?

You really need to time a flight when using Lipo batteries. It is for the best of the lipos.

With Lipo batteries buy a low voltage alarm that monitors each individual cell and a half descent balance charger. With this you could get away with what is supplied but yes you need to time flights and see what is left in each cell after each flight so your not killing batteries. Alarms only cost $10-$20 and most will show voltage of each cell

Pete, One thing I have notes is why don't you use the supply radio Tx, that come with the planes? If the plane and all the gear that come with it are that good, Then why do you need to use your own Tx? I just got this gut feeling that you will NEVER answer this question. You force people to buy the radio gear that comes with the plane, But yet I see you using your own gear, Why is that?

Actually I have answered this very question many times. I get the models as samples and often they do not include the transmitter or receiver. I do test many of the models stock with the stock radio equipment.

When you own a good JR or like mine Spektrum DX7 you tend to fly everything on it. I have the E-fly radio that comes with Pete's CAP-232 he sells and it works great, have never had issues.

But I am not buying too many RTF planes anymore so just add my own Spektrum receiver.

Supplied ones will do you no wrong and work great for flight sim. too

I think this would be an awsome first 4 channel plane,,Major adventure comming from 3 channel,..,.thing is huge,,would be awsome to get it up to thermal altitude before ever crashing it.

Even though I'm a newbee I think not just me but everyone ( I think) looks for a coolish crusing plane that will last the most in the air. For Me, it's about the same thrill as flyin them.

Thanks for the comment! If you have basic 3 channel experience, you can go into a nice 4 channel for sure. You should take a look at the Easy Fly. It is just like this but smaller. Easier to handle. You will be surprised. 4 channel will be an easy transition when you get the right airplane. Check out the Easy Fly.

Practice every day on simulator and keep control rates low until you learn learn to get better. My 1st plane I crashed about 25 times and kept fixing and rebuilding. My 2nd and current plane the Eratix 3D I have had about 30 flights on it in the last 2 weeks and have never crashed. I learned the hard way but never gave up. Also when maidening a new plane get someone with real experience to help you get it set up.

I have flown this in up to about 20mph winds with no problems. It is just tough to land with it is turbulent.
