Canceling any of PSU's games would be like punishing the players for something they had no control over. Something terrible happened but the players, who've worked hard to get where they are, shouldn't have their games taken from them for others wrongdoings.
If he feels so strongly about his opinion he should have skipped the game himself and donated his time to help young kids. Lead by example coach. Put some action behind that big talk.
@Ttruckk It wasn't his choice. Plus, even as I might agree with him I see some benefits of this game being played as a Nebraskan. Just because a game was played didn't mean He didn't care. Plus, I saw so many people who were from Ohio and Michigan saying that PSU-NU game should have been PSU-OU or PSU-MU/MSU before any of those three teams wanted NU or Iowa to have to deal with that mess, but thankfulness for the great attitude of my home state. Makes me proud to associate with it!!!!
Please tell me howwww does NOT playing football solve any problems? Honestly yes people were hurt and everyone is trying to move on now so not letting the players play would've just been a punishment to them for no reason at all. The blame here is being put in all of the wrong places.
Thanks Bo, for saying what Penn State should of said. Penn state needs a god damn leader that is actually a real man to step up behind a microphone. cant believe our coach had to. hope all those delusional Penn State kids watch this....if not ill start teaching an ethics class there. Really in my mind they should just shut down that school if its gonna be producing this kind of leadership.
@foxyfonzie Great English. It's should have, not should of. What good would shutting down Penn State do? There are over 90,000 students enrolled throughout the campuses. That's a large number of people to displace, given your idea. THON raised over $9.5 million for Pediatric Cancer last year alone. Hershey Medical Center does excellent work with medicine, most recently researching a virus to kill cancer cells. While I understand why you are saying this, Penn State does more than you give credit.
Because Penn State "produced this kind of leadership"? You must be very high and mighty of yourself to condemn an entire organization of people for the doings of one person. You could draw this to such lengths that just make you sound retarded, IE - Since Sandusky was human, all human organizations should be shut down and every human should be punished. Right? Fucking idiot.
@foxyfonzie One of the stupidest and most uniformed comments I've read during the scandal. Fortunately, the rest of Nebraska has more class and intelligence than you obviously do. Take that corn-cob outta your ear and learn some critical thinking skills. Ethics class? You can barely make it through freshman logic classes, based on your delusions about the facts in this scandal and your "rush to judgment."
That could not have been easy, saying that on Penn's hometurf, considering the popular opinion was to play.
Thankfully, some people are still willing to speak truth to power; to know there are things that trump even football.
Symbolically, Penn State not cancelling the game proved football rules over everything for them. Something is very cultish at that school (and in a very bad way.) Creepy Valley indeed.
@merked77 a person's past behavior has no affect on the merits of his argument. His sentiments are true regardless of who is expressing them.
You're trying to insinuate he is making a disingenuous attempt at taking the high road, or that he is a hypocrite because he has been caught berating his players. Him being a hot head doesn't at all preclude him from taking a stance on whether this game should be played or invalidate at all what he is saying.
yes. they prayed. agree with it or not, it eased a lot of minds and was better effective at crowd control than a snarky mindset and a shoulder shrug. I'm not a huge fan of any church, but when there are few things in this world that can console and heal like that, use that as a tool-- and it was correct. What would you have done?Handed out tranquilizers and hit the pipe?

@foxyfonzie I would really enjoy being in your ethics class, too. My overwhelming delusion could use your expertise on this matter.
