Most of the Bunraku videos on YouTube were filmed at a tourist attraction in Kyoto that provides a sample of traditional dance, tea ceremony, Kyogen comedy, court music, and flower arranging, in addition to traditional puppet theater--all in about an hour. Unlike a performance at a regular theater (like the National Theater) where you are not allowed to use a camera, the Gion Corner in Kyoto permits photography of the show, which includes this 10-minute piece, usually known as "Yaoya Oshichi."
hi!! i loveee bunraku also, i was wondering if you new (or your family) anything specific about bunraku techniques or anything really as im doing this huge paper on it (required for school) and i picked bunraku puppets as i think its amazing... if you new anyone or had any information that would be great thnak u!!=)
I'm actually from a Japanese family in Hawaii--and most of the clan isn't involved in the arts. I'm so sorry I can't help you out! (Myself, I'm an opera singer in training.)
They are good! I want to see a live one! I was never interested in these stuff, when I was little. But now looking back, its quite good!

@Sawrattan Because there aren't many places where Bunraku is still preformed. This place, the Gion Corner, is probably very popular.

The art of bunraku lives on, i think chikamatsu monzaemon was the master of all art!
(chikamatsu monzaemon is the man who created bunraku)
