I think the problem you have with batman is the description you just used: "stoic". I've never seen him as stoic. I see him as "damaged". Many characters in DC comics have said about the same. There is a very fine line between bruce wayne and ed gein, between superhero and sociopath, and everyone knows it's always the quiet ones.
As much as I like Batman, his pure stoicism is not believable. He's not much different than the Vulcans from Trek. And how many straight guys turn down beautiful women, time after time? Even Wonder Woman? That's why flash is better. He's human.

@gourdguru 1. In the vacuum of space, it's all fun. But on Earth, he has to calculate subtle pressure dynamics, air flow, inertia... He almost always slows when flying over populated areas. 2. He can store energy in his cells to stay at full strength even after days with no sunlight. Also, blue stars give him even more power than a yellow sun, so you could argue that he is at his best in deep space where he doesn't have to keep himself in check like he does on Earth. I can't remember where they brought it up, but dc mentioned once that on foot flash is faster, but superman can still smoke him if he flies. I think they attributed this to fitness. IE, both of their powersets still rely on their physical prowess. Hmm. I don't like this song. Part of the point of the Flash is that he's not as tortured as the other heroes. His super speed is freeing to him, giving him the capability to do what he feels when he wants to do it. He doesn't sweat the small stuff because he can always move past it....literally. Yes, he does have depth, but he's not depressed. He's happy to be the Flash.

In my opinion i always thought The Flash was the best. He was power was so simple yet he mastered it so he could do all sorts of things with it. He got me started in super heroes.
Not exactly..jay Garrick is known as the slowest cause his powers never came from the speed force but from inhaling hard water (retarded, I know)
And Wally would have never accessed the speed force if it wasn't for his uncle Barry
Barry in fact IS the speed force without him they're all screwed even the reverse flash admitted that he can't kill Barry without killing himself in the process
And when Barry sacrificed himself during the first crisis Wally inherited the speed force
This is why Flash needs a big budget movie. There are just so many fun little tricks and stunts that can be done with super speed that beg to be seen on a big screen. :)
@ghostrider3009 That's true by Micheal Rosenbuam voiced him for years on "Justice League" and in some movies (Wally West version, although he had some Barry in him such as being stated as being a police scientist) and he's set to play the Barry version in the animated version of "Doom" as well (at least that's what I've heard). It's really a hard call since I'm not up on actors in the right age range at the moment.
Disagree. The Flash is a character I really like. But being able to vibrate through objects and stuff will lead to him doing ridiculous stuff like the old Superman movies where he fixes a broken wall with his eyes, or turns back time by flying around the world.
Flash has the worst villains of all time and powers that are too versatile. I want a movie about a hero that has a set understandable physical limit.
@Gamez1985 Well like it or not that stuff is part of the Flash character. He's always been able to vibrate his molecules to pass through solid objects and run on the surface of the water and all that. It's just a matter of how far to take it. Wally West (at least at the start of his time as the Flash) had a set limit and couldn't do a lot of the stunts that Barry or Jay could do. Work it like that and let him learn tricks as he goes and see what happens. :)

@PwnzooooR When they first launched him (right after the Crisis) as the new Flash the going rule was to keep his speed down to a more reasonable level (back when they where trying to be more 'realisitc' which is silly as comics by definition are unrealistic otherwise everyone would be normal people with normal jobs and all that). Then as time passed he got faster. Still, if they're doing a movie I would like to see Barry with some mention of Jay having been around before him.

@PwnzooooR Well, when I was reading comics Wally was the Flash and Barry was dead and, in fact, I've ready very little (if anything) with Barry in it but he's still the classic Flash the one a lot of people know even if they don't know they know him :). I read somewhere that an early draft of "Green Lantern" had a thing about Allen Scott the golden age Green Lantern which would have been cool. I guess I just like starting at the begining. :) Maybe Wally will show up as KF. :)

I think the best bet for a movie would be to start him just running and have him figure out more as the movie progressess. The old stories might not have realistic but they did have a certain charm and fun to them and I think it's possible to balance the two. :)

Disagree. The Flash is a character I really like. But being able to vibrate through objects and stuff will lead to him doing ridiculous stuff like the old Superman movies where he fixes a broken wall with his eyes, or turns back time by flying around the world.
Flash has the worst villains of all time and powers that are too versatile. I want a movie about a hero that has a set understandable physical limit.

@Gamez1985 Well like it or not that stuff is part of the Flash character. He's always been able to vibrate his molecules to pass through solid objects and run on the surface of the water and all that. It's just a matter of how far to take it. Wally West (at least at the start of his time as the Flash) had a set limit and couldn't do a lot of the stunts that Barry or Jay could do. Work it like that and let him learn tricks as he goes and see what happens. :)

@LibraGamesUnlimited Yeah.. When ever wally tried to vibrate his molecules, it made stuff explode, but that was only in the beggining, when he was still learning. Later on he was able to do it with. And he 'did' surpass Barry since Wally is the fastest of all the Flash's..
And he can do alot more then just super speed, he can take out Superman or even a white martian.. So Flash / Wally West is a beast.

@PwnzooooR When they first launched him (right after the Crisis) as the new Flash the going rule was to keep his speed down to a more reasonable level (back when they where trying to be more 'realisitc' which is silly as comics by definition are unrealistic otherwise everyone would be normal people with normal jobs and all that). Then as time passed he got faster. Still, if they're doing a movie I would like to see Barry with some mention of Jay having been around before him.

But did you know that they are considering a Flash movie? 2013/2014 where Barry is the main character :o ... I do hope they make a movie about The Flash, whetever its Barry/Wally/Bart
And in the new DC 52... Wally is not even there, The only reason i can think of why he is not there is because they want Barry to be better

@PwnzooooR Well, when I was reading comics Wally was the Flash and Barry was dead and, in fact, I've ready very little (if anything) with Barry in it but he's still the classic Flash the one a lot of people know even if they don't know they know him :). I read somewhere that an early draft of "Green Lantern" had a thing about Allen Scott the golden age Green Lantern which would have been cool. I guess I just like starting at the begining. :) Maybe Wally will show up as KF. :)

@PwnzooooR Yeah in the small town I live in all the places that used to sell comics have dried up otherwise I would have jumped on the "52" bandwagon. I've heard a lot of people say that about John Stewart but he and Guy Gardner are later on so the only hope of that would be sequals. :) Althought I had heard that cameos were planned but not done for time or something.

@Gamez1985 Well it's a fine line isn't it. You don't be silly but you gotta have some cool stunts like running on the surface of water and stuff. I think the best bet for a movie would be to start him just running and have him figure out more as the movie progressess. The old stories might not have realistic but they did have a certain charm and fun to them and I think it's possible to balance the two. :)

@jake626a i think it depends on preference. since I'm more familiar with wally west, and he's the incarnation that animated series tend to use, I'd say wally west, but I would think that all incarnations of the flash are unique and amazing in their own right.
