  • I just got a 3d smart vizion 47" tv and i have a ps3 do i really need 1.4 hdmi please help

  • Can HDMI 1.4 and 1.3 work on the new Xbox 360 Slim or is it just the 1.3??

  • @iTouchiPadz009 Yes HDMI 1.4 will work with the new XBOX Slim gaming console. Older versions of HDMI will work with new versions of HDMI, they just will not have access to some of the newer features that are added to the newer devices.

  • @DerekP2050 - The lip sync happens 100% percent of the time when I watch a 3d tv signal from my satellite box and for some reason every now and then it's pretty noticeable on CBS for whatever reason. I am also using an optical cable. Should I still be using that?

  • is 1.4 cable bigger or smaller than the 1.3? or is it the same size?

  • @anthon971 Hello. They are physically the same size.

  • Do you expect replacements for HDMI cables v1.4a?? I'm have 1.3c cables and now it seems they're old fashinoned... and should be replaced since my tv set is 3d capable... Matters of technology :(

  • @Nando85ec HDMI versions are critical amongst components however, cables are rated differently. As long as the cables are high speed, or high speed with ethernet certified you should be ok in the years to come.

  • I just bought myself a samsung smart led hdtv (to be more specific the un55d6000). Now I need to buy a cable. I was thinking the 1.4 w/ ethernet. I have an xbox 360S connected via wifi. And the cable really is for that purpose. I was wondering since my tv DOES NOT have wifi built in will i be able to connect my tv to the internet thru my xbox 360S? And if so does my xbox have to be on? would you recommend i buy the 1.4 HDMI cable or a 1.3 CL2 certified cable?

  • If i dont have a 3D tv, and i buy a 1.4 hdmi cable and connect it to my 320gb PS3 and new HDTV 42" LG, will it still work? and nothing will be wrong with it?

  • @derekowns25 The HDMI 1.4 cable will work fine with that equipment.

  • @ONECALL but would it be better than a 1.3 cable? Like will it look better?

  • will you have better graphics on ps3 with the 1.4 then with the 1.3?

  • @UTube4588 Graphics processing is not going to be affected by the addition of HDMI 1.4. 1.4 will allow the PS3 to process a 3D image (with a 3D TV). The graphics that the PS3 can produce are fantastic to begin with. Being able to fully enjoy 3D as well -- makes it truly a powerful machine.

  • @ONECALL current consoles such as xbox 360 and ps3 are very outdated pieces of hardware...not even as powerful as mid range pc's......

  • @DerekP2050 I recently bought a Samsung Smart LED 3D TV and I still have the same HDMI cables (I'm assuming 1.3) that I have been using for years. I have a bad problem with the lips syncing every since I got the new tv...particularly on the 3D channels. Will the HDMI 1.4 cable fix this problem for me?

  • @RyGuy179 hi, I would recommend upgrading to a 1.4 cable, it allows for more data throughput, I purchased one couple months ago from amazon, Mediabridge Ultra Series...only about $10...and to be frank it works equally well as a monster cable that I paid about $90 for...the lip sync issue, does it only happen when you watch a 3d tv signal from your cable/satellite box?

  • @ONECALL Doesnt the PS3 need a HDMI 1.4 connector to benifit from the cable? i dont think ps3 has hdmi1.4 does it?

  • @ONECALL i have a ps3 and i use an hdmi 1.4 anbd still get 3d

  • @KillerMadDog2010 That’s a good question. Since the video updates in the HDMi 1.4 specifications are for 4K video support and Content Type any video quality difference will be subtle at best. Unless you’re using an HDMI 1.4 connection for displaying digital photos and computer graphics, where the improved color space capabilities will allow a wider range color spectrum for more detail and color tones.

  • @KillerMadDog2010 The only reason I can think of that you would need to buy a 1.4 cable is if you are playing 3D movies on your laptop and want them to be displayed on your TV set. Hope this helps with your question. Give us a call at 800-663-5255 if you need further clarification.

  • @KillerMadDog2010 Manufacturers can pick which features to implement on their product. They can add all of the above features, or just one based on their customer’s needs.

To make the 1.4 features work, however, the devices on both ends of the cable need to be 1.4 also. For example, if you hook up a camera to a TV using a HDMI mini connector, both the TV and camera need to be 1.4 to work. If the TV is older and has 1.3, the connection will not be successful.

  • @KillerMadDog2010 Here’s the short answer: buying a 1.3 or 1.4 HDMI cable will likely not matter based on how you are using it. They will both work equally as well.

Here’s the long answer: When HDMI 1.4 was introduced, it allowed electronics manufacturers to add extra features to their product. 1.4 allows for seven new features including HDMI Ethernet channel, Audio Return Channel, 3D, 4K Support, Content Type, Additional Color Spacing, HDMI Micro Connector, and Automotive Connection.

  • phisicaly the cable isn't the same? The two have 19 wires... Why buy anothe cable? Shouldn't just change the TV and transmission source with 1.4 support?

  • Thats why my xbox 360 graphic's was bad, i had a 1.3 cable.

  • Hi how is it going I have a 160 Gb ps3 will i be able to connect an HDMi 1.4 or should I just use a HDMI 1.3? I would appreciate it if you can help thanks.

  • @jamesjoeify We’d recommend using an HDMI 1.4 compatible cable to connect your PS3 to ensure that you receive all of the performance offered by HDMI 1.4. Plus, HDMI 1.4 cables are backwards compatible with HDMI 1.3, just one more advantage with using an HDMI 1.4 cable.

  • Get real Monster is a huge ripoff ! Mediabridge all the way !

  • Powerpie, that's not the case. 1.4 is necessary on PS3 when playing 3D sources. 99% require. 1.4a. Downloads from the PSN may work on 1.3.

  • @evilet1111 The PS3 does not have a 1.4 compliant HDMI port... It's 1.3 but can run still run 3D Blu-ray's and 3D games using 1.3 HDMI cables. How can the PS3 benefit from a HDMI 1.4 cable when the PS3 itself does not have the support for it? A 1.4 cable will be basically be running as a 1.4 cable when used with a PS3.

  • @PowerPie5000 sorry, I wasn't necessarily talking about the cable as much as accessory hardware needing to be 1.4a. Such as AVR (audio/video receivers).

You cannot experience 3D via Blu-ray (you can via PSN) without 1.4. Game or movie doesn't matter.

Speaking from experience, you need 1.4 to do 3D via Blu-ray disc. Having 1.3 spec gear will not cut it. Also, 1.4 is for high speed HDMI. Why not spend the extra few bucks and get a 1.4 cable?! 1.3 $5 1.4 $9.

  • @evilet1111 A PS3 with a 1.3 HDMI cable plugged into a 1.4 HDMI 3DTV can play 3D Blu-ray movies just fine :)... The PS3 is not HDMI 1.4 compliant.

  • @PowerPie5000 Yes, I'm aware. I've been gaming in 3D since July on the PS3. What I said is that your accessories , ie AVR MUST be 1.4. They cannot be 1.3. :) When the 3D patch first arrived, some worked fine with 1.3. Now they do NOT.

That's all I'm trying to inform people of. You're fine if you just hook a PS3 up to a TV.. but that doesn't sound like a Home Theater experience to me.. When you introduce an AVR, you now MUST have 1.4 compliance. So, for those hooking up AVR it needs 1.4.

  • @PowerPie5000 yes the ps3 is to 1.4 compliant. cause 1.4 cables work on them. the port wires may be different but its not in just the cable its the ps3's firmware. now they will have to make newer ps3's with ports that are1.4 to be fully compliant. but not to just make it work with the hi'er band width. let me make one other thing clear......all HDMI cables are backwards compatible. regardless of the port. and only a Hi speed 1.3 cable will work on 3D, a normal 1 will not. 1.3 @ 6-8 gig 1.4 10+

  • @clamo636 I know newer revision HDMI cables are backwards compatible with older HDMI hardware... But the PS3 is still only 1.3 compliant, even with the firmware update (You can't upgrade a physical port with firmware). The PS3 does not need to be 1.4 compliant to display 3D movies or games as it's already been proven (and does a fine job too), all you need is a 1.3 OR a 1.4 cable (makes no difference with the PS3) and a 3D ready screen (with passive or active glasses).

  • @PowerPie5000 right that is true but it must be a hi speed 1.3 a stander-ed 1.3 will not work.

I have a older 1.3 cable and as soon as i turn on 3d the single drops. not to mention if you have to get new cables might as well get 1.4 there about the same price.

  • @clamo636 Did you also know stereoscopic 3D can also be displayed using "Dual-Link DVI" and "Display Port" connectors"... Lots of people say only HDMI 1.4 supports 3D, which of course is a load of rubbish.

  • @PowerPie5000 yes I knew that, but how many new tv's are there that have dvi ports? on most newer tv's, they replaced the dvi port with 2 more hdmi ports. so they got 4 hdmi instead of to. its a cheaper port to manufacture do to less pins. that's y display port was soposta replace the hdmi port, but some jack off made the cables to hi so they keep using hdmi.

  • @clamo636 My PS3 1.3 cable must the high speed version then as 3D content works perfectly (i only use "Cablesson Ivuna" HDMI cables... Excellent quality at a great price!). DVI may have been dropped for most TV's but many 3D ready PC monitors still use dual-link DVI ports.

  • @evilet1111 well 1.3 is Hi speed its just not as fast as 1.4. 1.3 hit about 5gig a sec were 1.4 hits about 10 gig. and before they changes 3D again the 1.3 did work. at wikipedias website wiki HDMI. before 3D was updated, 1.3 worked on 3D but now you must upgrade to 1.4. they changed it. bet a lot of people were mad that there 3D wouldn't work after they went out and got 1.3 cables. lol figures, glad i waited till something changed, now I have to buy the 1.4 cables 1 of my 1.3 cables went bad.

  • I just installed the 3d firmware update on my ps3 and i am planning on getting a sony 3dhdtv later on and i want to know if i am going to need a hdmi 1.4 cable to see 3d or will a hdmi 1.3 cable work which of all of the cables in your video do you recommend right now i am using a sony 1.3 high speed hdmi cable will it work for 3d?

  • @playstation406 The PS3 is only HDMI 1.3 compliant. Using a HDMI 1.4 cable will make absolutely no difference as the PS3 can't use the extra features HDMI 1.4 has to offer.... HDMI 1.3 is fine for 3D games/Blu-ray on the PS3 :)

  • @PowerPie5000 Software update.

  • @RaijilajneN A software update does not make the PS3 1.4 compliant (it's lacking 1.4 ports for a start). The PS3 hardware is HDMI 1.3 only but can still run 3D content via a software update if you have a 3D ready TV... Even the Xbox 360 is fully 3D capable and it's only HDMI 1.2 compliant!

  • @RaijilajneN You can still use HDMI 1.4 cables with the PS3 and Xbox 360 but they will be used as 1.3 and 1.2 cables.

  • Is there's any HDMI 1.4 to vga? cause i want to connect my xbox 360 to my pc monitor.

  • @sesestro HI. It looks like there are several options for adapters on the market for VGA to HDMI converters. Unfortunately, we don’t carry any of them. If you search on Google Shopping for "HDMI to VGA" you will get a good list. Happy hunting. :)

  • @ONECALL Thanks.

  • @sesestro you can buy the xbox 360 HD AV VGA Cable that goes for about 40USD. just connect one end to your xbox and the vga side to your monitor. it comes with a separate audio cable. go google it :)

  • @Danyanz Thanks i hope the quality is as good as the DVI
