  • This is a classic Cinderella story told again and again in movies. Ever After is very similar thematically. Still a good film.

  • I don't know if this movie is here on YouTube, but I know it is going to air on this Thursday, December 22, 2011, at 4:05 AM on Encore. Check your cable or satellite guide. Enjoy! IMO, Another great pick me up movie is "Conviction. " I have many pick me up and inspirational move titles, but I am not going to list them because I feel this is not the correct place.

  • @AlexisAlways1 - Your taste seems to correspond to mine (someone who likes Working Gril must have good - no, impeccable - taste). Could you PM me your list, please? (If you show me yours, I will show you mine ;-) ).

  • I love this movie it's so inspirational. Whenever, I feel down this movie helps me feel better. This movie is great when you are fighting to obtain your dreams/goals. I agree, this movie is underrated and overlooked. "I have a head for business and a bod for sin. " Actress Joan Cussack was overlooked. IMO, Alec Baldwin played himself. Take care. Peace. Happy Holidays!

  • can i get you anything, coffee? tea? Me?

  • lol look at that 80s hair! OMG joan!

  • the studios have this one off of here again... sob's

  • Very underated movie of the late 80's

  • In Italy this film is translated with "Una donna in carriera" (A career woman)... crazy!!

    :-P

  • @PinkFluo That´s actually quite similar. In Spain it was called "Armas de mujer": "Women´s weapons"

  • @LaChatteGrise

Really? :-) But I think in this way, a different translation from the original, doesn't help you so much... In Italy some films change a lot with the original title... They're out of mind!!! :-P

  • @PinkFluo Same thing in Spain, and there are much worse cases XD

  • @LaChatteGrise No Brasil: "Uma Secretária de Futuro" (A Secretary of the Future)

  • @LaChatteGrise Same in Germany. "Die Waffen der Frauen"

  • I love this film... I know it's just a film, but I really appreciate Tess McGill's (Melanie Griffith) ambition... ;-)

  • I GOT A HEAD FOR BUSINESS AND BOD FOR SIN

  • david <3

  • Hehe, i finally found it!! :D

  • One of the best theme songs ever! Great film too.

Funny how many of those clips in the trailer never made it into the final cut.

  • lol wow that hair is 5 ft tall? love it!!

  • Just love the theme song!

  • Haha I love the hairdo!

  • OMG melanie griffith's hair.lol. God, the 80's:)

  • This film is one of the models in terms of our tone for Dumbass Filmmakers! Seriously, Working Girl stands up twenty years later - it's really pretty much perfect. A great American classic! Terrific job Mike Nichols, Melanie Griffiths, Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver and everyone down the line...

  • My all time favorite movie. Damn, why was I born in the wrong decade.

  • "Maybe I just don't like you."

    "Me? Naaaaaah!"

I'd love to see this film some time!

  • Thats an odd looking kitchen.

  • "Sometimes I sing and dance around the house in my underwear. Doesn't make me Madonna. Never will."

  • I love the movie.

Do you know who's singing the song on the beginning and on the closing credits? It's not listed there. I would appreciate for the answer x

  • @wwioleta Carly Simon.

  • @youngmindedman But do you know who is singing this version from the movie?

  • @wwioleta Carly Simon wrote the song...and the movie contained a version by the St Thomas Choir of Men and Boys

  • @carroll1956 Thanks

  • @wwioleta The movie contained a version of the song sung by the St Thomas Choir of Men and Boys

  • im 14 i watched it on demand was seeing if anyone also liked it wow i was deeply suprised by the wonderful comments it is a wonderful movie i loved it so much

  • Nice hair

  • maybe i just don't like you

    me? NAaaaaaaa

    thats hilarious :)

  • Una de mis películas favoritas, la he visto 100 veces y cada vez me gusta mas

  • I really fell in love to this movie in the early 90s

  • WOW i wish I was alive on the 80s

  • Just watching this now for the first time in years.... missing New York this Christmas! Now, get your BONY ASS out of my sight! LOL! xxx

  • she certainly hasn't aged well which is unfortunate

  • I was disappointed in this movie. When I saw the title "Working Girl", I thought it was about prostitutes, but it ended up being a clean PG movie.

  • Melanie Griffith is a wonderful true star

    A real deal A-list actress

    And a beautiful woman

I loved her in Shining Through with Michael Douglas 1992

Best performance ever of the 90's......that and Madonna in Abel Ferrara's

Snake Eyes aka Dangerous Game produced by Miramax

Pity that she married an asshole like Antonio Banderas

  • @IDIOTES1982 whats wrong with Antonio Banderas

  • @melaina16 Everything

  • Melanie griffith is in this movie? Where.

  • @Gunnarsas , don't you recognize her?

  • @jaenerisimo Nope. Where is she in this movie.

  • @Gunnarsas your joking right lol?

  • @melaina16 No - I don´t see it - I see Sigourney Weaver and Harrison Ford and then this blonde gal who looks a bit like Meg Ryan back in the 90´s - is that Melanie Griffith? looks nothing like her - this woman is pretty

  • @Gunnarsas thats her lol ~_~

  • @Gunnarsas well, you should look for pictures of Melanie and Antonio Bandera's daughter, she is amazingly beautiful

  • @Gunnarsas yes that is melanie griffith

  • Oh the nostalgia!!!

  • I love this version of the song too but can't find it anywhere.

  • @30Kristen it's carly simon; she surely should be on itunes.

  • @witherwings14 Not that version :(

  • I want to see this movie so bad! Can someone please post it on youtube?

  • Does anyone have this version of "Let the river run" rather than that Carly Simon version?

  • Beautiful movie..and very nice song too !

Thank you very much for posting

  • The end of this movie is so unrealistic, how did Melanie Griffith's character not know what job she was showing up for at the end? Was she that stupid? Well I just answered my own question lol

  • @tpabaygarstud No, it's not stupidity, it's a different world. She was a secretary up to then, and she thought she is accepted to be the secretary of a great boss or something. It's really hard just jump up the ladder like that, almost impossible, so only natural she didn't believe it. She was aksed to go work there, the explicit job was not mentioned.

  • yup i love this movie....i saw it on hbo the other day and it totaly rocked!

  • Awesome movie.

  • Coffee? Tea? Me?

    Lol

    I loved it!

  • Why did women have such risiculous big hair in the 80's..atleast they wore suspenders and stockings I suppose which makes up for it..

  • did people really have hair that big back then? - and in public?!

  • @catmando1973 you're 7 years older than me and you don't remember. You were a teenager in the '80s. I remember those fashions and crazy big hair even though I was only 9 at the end of the decade.

  • "It needs some bows or sumthin!"

This is my all time favorite movie!!!!

  • "Six THOUSAND dollars - it's not even LEATHAAAAAAAH!!!!!"

  • generally i think melanie griffith is annoying but not in this movie though

  • one of the best 80s movies

  • "a head for business, and a bod for sin... anything wrong with that?"

    love this movie:)

  • Obama!

  • Melanie is amazing in black stockings !

  • Comment removed

  • Mmm... Melanie in black stockings :) I love this movie !

  • question: at the beginning of the movie, who is Oliver Platt's buddy, the guy sitting next to him? Is that James Lally? I can't find any pic for that name to confirm.

  • What the heck, there's like four scenes not found in the finished film? They should have been on the DVD, lol.

  • I like this movie very much, I found it an essence from the 80's...however it is a modern Cinderella tale... despite this, I watch it every time, when it is running in the Tv..:-)

  • pf... I don't see any sense in your comment ,(Positve sexual discrimination vs. recession vs. science.....what????)

.but I can understand if you are a little bit frustrated and you write bullshits like this..

anyway I'm not feminist, not even a girl...

  • sci what?! you say i discriminate women?! women discriminate men! that's a fact and that's all there is to it

  • haha...this is laughable! women are slowing down scientific progress? you don't need to be a women to understand that what your saying is ridiculous. cast your mind back a decade or two and we can talk about fairness in the workplace, and opportunities on the job front! psshhh

  • The song is amazin, The movie is perfect and sorry folks , but i believe dreams Can come true ...it's up to you to choose the perfect dream.... Respect to the music and all working girls around the world!!!

  • coffee, tea, me.. ya, me baby...

  • The statue of liberty is my favourite statue of all times in world and you know why, ;)

  • This movie is a lot like matrix.

  • Coffee ... tea ... mee?!

You know you might not even enjoyed!

You cant expect that the events you want falling from the sky. Youve to cause them.

Wow! This is a fake critical comedy, slicker than clever, a little bit pimp, that owes its success by a cracking pace, well-chosen details & nice direction of actors. Carly Simon Won Oscar for "Let the River Run ".

  • Brilliant movie - much better than overrated Pretty Woman. Classic from the 80s. Melanie Griffith and Sigourney Weaver were brilliant together

  • It was a great movie, however, unrealistic.

  • k....in what sense?

  • Give one example of how this happened in the real world.

  • what? the entire plot? the romance? the career? what aspect? i mean its not supposed to be an account of real life anyway, its a movie, you cant apply it to the "real world".

  • It happen to me;) cheer up. Its a great film

  • love this movie

  • omg there was like 3 parts not even in the movie
