How to play like Zakk Wylde:

1. tune down to Eb or D Standard (not necessary but helps)

2. Get yourself a Marshall with Overdrive, Chorus, Dunlop Rotovibe and Dunlop Wah pedals

3. Learn tremolo picking, then learn most of your pentatonic shapes and positions and build speed with them

4. Use excessive bends and vibrato and learn pinch harmonics, remember to incorporate them heavily

@seankenny08 actually, single coils can totally be a part of metal, yngwie totally uses them despite what anyone thinks, just listen to his tone and you can hear it,. even kirk hammett has used them, its all in how you use them, if you know how to use a compressor and an EQ properly you can effectively fool people ears into thinking your using humbuckers.
