  • What a great guy First time I have seen this guy in Greek TV I was watching in Turkey ( city of Izmir ) "Happy Days "

    Well RIP Pat

Now these days I have seen hate on the Muslims .

Amazing time changes but people not

  • mr. miyagi lives in our hearts!!!

  • god bless this man. pat morita was one of the greatest.

  • 1:57 no disrespect or anything but he sounds like a pirate there! :?

  • he sounds nothing like Mr. M from karate kid, did he change the tone of his voice for the movie?

  • @Donaldcomic Well he is actually American born, the accent was done just for the movie. Also you gotta realize he is a bit older here, your voice tends to get a bit gruffer over time.

  • i miss him =(

  • Say no for racism.Nobody is only european or american,i mean all your family from europe i´ve sure that a less 1 guy on your family are of another country, and what´s the trouble if somebody are of other country, why he can´t feel himself american? You think the reason why somebody get out of some country?they won´t want get out of their home just for be called american, they go for another country for a better life, better job, better health(hospitals and etc)I mean very people are people like you´re

  • R.I.P Pat Morita, we'll always remember you.

  • I haven't watch the whole interview but does this guy speak Japanese at all?

  • @TheStrawberryLolicon No i don't think so. But as americans, it's our duty to think that he's fluent, and that he sucks at english. We already let black people feel american... we can't let other non-whites think they are "fully" american... we need to make sure they know they are always foreigners first.

  • Like a boss.

  • i will always remember his japanese accent

  • @threadysparrow lol the only time he had one was in karate kid lol who knew he spoke english with a perfect accent

  • Wow. I love biographies and I love interviews. I just discovered these Archive Interviews and they are wonderful. I look forward to watching all of them.

  • He always looks so full of wisdom.

  • You can he was a very sincere and open hearted man. This always came across in his acting or even his comedy. I remmeber him as "Arnold" from Happy Days show. His roll as Mr. Miyagi will always shine and withstand the annels of time. The chemistry between him and Ralph Macchio was great. I'm sure they treasured that . It was too bad that "The Kararte Kid" did not win any Academy Awards! Can you phanthom tthat? PURPLE RAIN!$#** Rest peacefully Pat..

  • The 4 People are from Cobra Kai dojo

  • Epic actor!!!

  • Very fascinating video about Pat's history.

  • wow man that sucks that this guy passed away :(

  • R.I.P

  • he was so funny from sandford and son

  • Rest in Peace. No one can do it like him

  • @SugeeMcLeLe the guy is a straight up legend, especially in karate kid. may he rest in peace

  • what brought me here was that i was watching a history video and it said the narrator was named noriyuke pat morita and i was thinking "no...it couldn't be" because he didn't have that accent (only knew basically from karate kid)

well now i know that he is just really good at accents.

    I MISS HIM SO MUCH!!!!

  • geez i hope i acomplishe alot before i pass away

  • Would have been great to have met him in person - would have loved to sit down for a big ol' yarn...

  • RIP helped make one of my favourite film of all time!

  • He had a long productive life. We should celebrate the life he lived.

  • RIP my friend, sensei miyagi, are the best.

  • wow his accent is perfect

  • @shalommeodedff7 he spoke english perfectly , In fact when he filmed karate kid he had to speak like japanese accent

  • @shalommeodedff7 He spoke like a natural-born American because that's what he was.

  • Dude I'm with everybody that didn't know he had an American accent!! I knew he was born in Cali but I thought he would still have an Asian accent!!! Kinda disappointing. Shows he's an awesome actor though. I never wanna know if he doesn't actually know karate

  • its too bad I Pat Morita is dead thumbs up if you agree me

  • @MultiRJ69 i find it disrespectful you using a deceased person to gratify your jollies of getting youtube thumbs up, like that's such an important thing..

  • @superpumpernickel here here couldn't agree more!

  • I was waiting for some Cobra Kai dude come up from behind and slit his throath...

seriously, seems like he was a decent dude

  • profesor Miyagui!!

  • decent fellow.

  • i had no idea he was born in US and had an american accent a great actor i thought he really was a japense born actor

  • I love Pat Morita!

He is like a wise but loving person you would love to have as a friend!

I'm sorry to learn just recently that he passed in 2005?

I wish him peace & happiness in heaven!

  • i wonder if he and george takei ever hung out lol

  • I still see him as Arnold, from Happy Days. Thats how I first knew him.

  • Holy shit. I never knew he had a good american accent. I always thought he spoke with a japanise accent after waching all the karate kid fims.

  • may you pass on to many more beautiful lives mr morita *bows*

  • You hero of my early years - reason for starting my karate-career.

noriyuki pat morita - may you always rest in peace!!

  • R.I.P mate

  • mr miyagi!!!! RIP

  • Part 1 of 7... and half an hour long? Is this interview really 3 and half hour long? O.O

  • He is so awesome. Rest in Peace Pat.

  • The Big Boss And The Japanese Legend lives on... Bruce and Pat

  • arnold!

  • he was the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HE WAS MR T I THE TV SHOW MR T AND TINA BEFORE THE A TEAM

  • Pat Morita is a legend. Nuff said

  • LOL his irish accent was awesome! I will always love Pat Morita.

  • what year was this from ?

  • @nathansmygift it says october 15 2000 at the beginning of the interview

  • wow,his english is much better than me! i didnt know that! LOL

  • I love that he can switch accents (of any kind) quite easily, thats vocal mimicry at its best. Most actors today, cant even fake an aussy accent let alone an irish one.

  • what the hell mr.miyagi is american ?! thats unbelievable and just weird , he's american his accent is too americanized , where's that cool Japanese accent from karate kid , damn it this is so uncool that he is american

  • @JDMsamuraiwarrior You know, It's called acting!

  • His laugh is awesome

  • R.I.P Pat Mortia! watch a lot of Karate Kid as kid during the 80's. And Number 4 really SUCKS.

  • He was an exceptional actor. I miss him.

  • siempre serás el mejor

  • he said green hornet awesome brue lee show

  • He died when he was 73 I think Hes amazing at acting

  • may he always rest in peace

  • @Jonth93 when did he die? i just watched karate kid 2 and i saw his real name and thought just take a look on utube. Sad to know :(

  • this man is my hero, I followed his movies ever since i was a kid till the very sad day he was gone!! R.I.P

  • wow!so he had a fake accent in his karate kid movies to make him seem like a old wise teacher

  • May you R.I.P Mr Morita.

  • Dude... Pat was born in USA

  • @midgetwars1 finally someone knows this

  • R.I.P pat (but damn you speak some good english)

  • didn,t know that he can speak so good english

  • mr miyagi fluent in english :) r.i.p.

  • R.I.P Wonderfull days in Happy days and then The Karate Kid!

  • R.I.P. Pat.

  • man after hearing him speak,I'm beginning to dislike the Miyagi character abit, his character with his accent show makes asians look like their new to USA, and their still foreigners, when in asian have been in america as since the late1800s.Why should they be seen any different, their just like any other folk who came to America, like Italians, Scotts, and Greeks who came to the country. Their descendants are seen as americans, while asian's treated as foreign. But that aside. Pat is amazing RIP

  • @highwings89

Maybe it wasn't what Pat himself wished to do (fake Japanese accent although he could have spoken better English). Pat is an actor and there is another person as a director who controls these characters. You know.

  • @highwings89 your profile has you at age 22.

why are you writing like a 9 year old?

  • What happend? why R.I.P??

  • @nailbomb76 he is dead for 5 years!!!!

  • Shit..... For the past 20 years, I thought he was a Japanese speaking Jap... I didn't know he was actually born, raised and lived as one.... RIP Pat.... He made millions of kids wanting to learn Karate... and those Karate Dojo's should pay him a royalty for that...

  • wwe all miss you

r.i.p. pat morita rest in peace

  • legend.......

  • Such a trip to hear him talk with an American accent, even though I knew he was American! He was awesome.

  • "Karate here (head). Karate here (heart). Karate never here (belt)."

"Now, show me wax on, wax off."

*smacks Daniel's head*"look eye. Always look eye. Come back tomorrow."

  • RIP Sir.... thanks for the great childhood memories...and i bow my head to you my friend

  • Omg??? Thank you for even posting this. You have ZERO idea how meaningful this is..to even watch this. And as far as I'm concerned..it's a freaking travesty they got to name that new movie "The Karate kid"..horrible..god bless you Noriyuki...

  • is it me or does she sound distant? all she does is act like a machine and ask questions..a good reporter connects with the person their interviewing,it's more then just asking question..

  • He voice sounds different from the karate kid.

  • @PREZILLA2009 in karate kid he was a character who used to live in china, in real life he was born in California USA so he doesnt have an acsent :)

  • @Eirik0405 Actually his character lived in Okinawa an island off the coast of JAPAN.

  • @PREZILLA2009 You know his real accent is American, he put on a fake Japanese accent for the Karate Kid films, true fact! :)

  • Comment removed

  • Lol... "Unbilivibur"

  • Hearing him speak with an American accent and even identify the difference between an Irish accent from his Japanese accent in The Karate Kid is really a trip

  • He was and still is the man! A true legend. RIP...

  • @greencloud100 he is rolling in his grave just ass Ralph is being payed lots of money to promote because he did not like the disrespect. You can see it on his interview with the today show.

  • I'm shocked! he died November 24, 2005

  • His Japanese accent was NOT dubbed, just as his Irish accent was not dubbed during a segment of this interview when he spoke of the priest in the hospital. Its called acting. It merely proves the incredible talent of this great legend of Hollywood. What a wise man! I agree...some people should live for centuries! RIP, Mr. Morita!

  • Inteligent, funny, charming and insightful...no wonder he made such an excellent Mr Miyagi ,Pat Morita had such wealth of personal character to draw from.

Some people should live for centuries.

  • is this mr. miyagi??....is he dead??..plzz some one tell me..:'(

  • Why did Pat Morita die? Its sad.

  • Im sad that he died .

  • As with most, I learned of him through The Karate Kid, though the movie was actually being filmed around the time I was born, so I was far too young to have grown up with it, in that sense- it did become a part of my childhood a bit later on, in the early 90's when I saw it on tape. Really wish every time I watch it that I had gotten a chance to see more of him during my life- what a fantastic man- can't believe he's gone, he'd only be 77, which is my grandma's age...so sad. RIP Mr. Morita:(

  • when you say "in the early 90's when I saw it on tape", it really takes me back.. wow.. back when a vhs was state-of-the-art and a betamax was still usable.. now it's not just about dvds.. it's all online now! divx and flash.. online movies is the way to go these days.. where did the time go....? that said.. Pat Morita = Legend!

  • LOL he played Mr Miyagi so well..i would have never guessed he spoke so fluent

  • yeap.. he is american.. japanese descendant but 100% american, born and raised..
