Maybe we all need to buy Cruzer type flash drive, cuz I used to have one and it worked but I lost it. Recently I bought a spare one from company called Kingston, when I copy it from my pc, it worked but when I plug into my PS3 it wont show up and it seems that it has lost all the data when I plug it back to my PC, anyone have any idea about this problem? I can solve your issue. What you have to do is format ur usb to FAT32.

I found the answer in the ps3 forums.  "Remove the password protection". Mine works after I did this.
