I'm a 17 girl and I got my first Queen album when I was 12 and ever since I've loved them! My favorite band then, now, and always. Honestly, I don't think there is any other group out there who better than Queen (the incredible vocals, guitar, lyrics, and the fact that every song brings something new)-if there is, please let me know!
This has to be the most epic song EVER!! I'm 22, and discovered the music of Queen when I was 15, and have been obsessed ever since. No greater band, no greater frontman...King Freddie...we love you...
I don't remember when this came out but I 1st heard it in the early 1980's. Simply brilliant (with the exception of the middle stanza), powerful and pure genius. Muscians today can learn from the 70's and 80's. THANKYOU for posting this!
God knows I love Queen and freddie...but I cant understand his stile in his young days...It`s just fucked up and then he finaly grew up...yeah man that`s the stile...love ya freddie..R.I.P.

since freddie mercury passed away the rock passed too . i hate to say it but its true.too many rock bands but no one has the same spirit than queen and other bands got in the 60´s and 70´s.
One evening, years ago, my (ex) wife and I sat and listened to this. When it was finished, we sat in silence for a moment. Then she turned to me and said "I wonder if they knew what an astonishing piece of music they created?"
It's been years since I heard this. Now, I'm sitting here, and I'm almost speechless. This song is an absolute masterpiece. One of those works that stands apart from other mere pop songs s as being truly great music.
Took me a few listens before I was able to appreciate this song. But now I love it---even though the vocal solo could get a little awkward at live performances.
'78 in Phoenix. Roger using his 72" inch gong at the end of 'Bohemian Rhaposdy brouht the house down! It was just one of those moments! Endless chills! Glad for you!!
I still love Queen, the last album I bought was The Game, but I tossed them aside for a while when i was 16 and became a punk listening to the Sex Pistols in 1977
I was 7 years old when "A Night at the Opera" came out. My mother had an old console stereo and she'd take the back off it and stick her head inside and play the entire album. I knew the lyrics to "Bohemian Rhapsody" within the week the album was released. I can remember the matte finish of the cardboard and the embossed logo, running my fingers over it while I pondered what they meant when they said "no synthesisers!" on the inside cover of the bi-fold album cover. This album IS my childhood.
I wasn't even born... I dont think... but can you believe that there were 36+ individual reel tracks running simultaneously to create that sone!!! That's brilliantly genius for its time!!!
im 9 yrs old and i hate the new crap music i like rock and roll well i really love it of course Queen i love you Freddie rock our world again please :D
You don't need to label rock, is not important if it is Buddy Holly or Pink Floyd, I think rock'n'roll is more an atitude them a sound. Of course, my opinion...
Btw, it's internet, punctuation is important, but the message is much more, you don't need to be such a jerk about it.
@bohemianrhapsody694 I hear you! I'm a 17 year old girl, and Queen has been my absolute favourite band ever since I can remember! My first Queen song was Bohemian Rhapsody when I was an infant, and ever since I've collected any and everything to do with Queen that I could get my hands on! This IS my favourite song!!!
I'm just glad to know I'm not the only teenage girl who's obsessed with Queen :P
conjures up memories of listening to this on my headphones full volume, laid on my bed around `76 reading the lyrics and scanning the album sleeve for any info I may have missed.
you rock! peace and love brother. dont ever change and listen to hannah montanna or whatever, lol. rock on. when all queen fans are gone, we will look down from heaven, and laugh at those who betrayed real music, and we will reach down our hands, and offer them our kingdom, only if they accept real music. (remember, long after your great, great grandchildren are gone, this music will be all thats left. we leave this magic to generations to come. peace.
How can some people had forgot masterpieces like this I dunno... They are just wonderful!!! But most of time you ask someone "Hey, have you ever listened to something about Queen?" they reply you "ah! Yeah! Queen: We are the champions, Bhoemian Rhapsody, We will rock you..." "Yeah, right, and what else?" "Sorry? Have they written something else?"
It´s a pity that only commercial hits like the one you named are known by "non rocker public" but the fact is that Queen is a great band that played Heavy metal, Trash metal, power metal, rockabilly, jazz, blues, country, and wathever they wanted to play. If I should take a band to a "desert island" obviously I´ll take Queen, listening to them is listening to all music genres!
Amazing song. Definitely one of Queen's best, it's up there with "March of the Black Queen", "Father to Son", "Death on two Legs" and countless others. I prefer the heavier, more dramatic sound of Queen. Real pity they lost that around 1977...
Every band changes after a while ,and are bound to change, especially Freddie who hated to do the same music over and over. Im just glad the music they made later was still very good.
In the end, sadly that's exactly what he did. I wish they had ended up with something like this instead of "This could be Heaven for Everyone" a mediocre song at best if you compare it to this masterpiece. Now that would had been "The Miracle". As it's almost impossible that any musician can turn around things like that.
I consider songs like innuendo, love of my life, these are the days of our lives, liar and was it all worth it to be better but thats just my opinion,
This has to one of my favorite songs. These guys were brilliant they were one of the reasons why music was so good in the 70's 80's and 90's. I'm not gonna include many bands from the 2000's because theres not many.
And many of the great ones that are still in existence are dying out. Pink Floyd is technically still around, but with two of its original members (Syd Barrett and Rick Wright) dead and a resistance from David Gilmour to start again with Roger Waters and Nick Mason, the future looks bleak.
Is it just me or does this song remind you of the story of Oedipus? Maybe that's where they got their idea. This song does have a slight demonic glow to it. Regardless it is a wonderful creation from the gods of oprea rock.
Amazing song. This track and "Bohemian Rhapsody" are my favorites from "A Night at the Opera" and are in my list of the top Queen songs. They should have played this live. It would have been an awesome sight to see and hear.
I think that if "The Prophets Song" was realesed as a single instead of Bohemian Rhapsody Queen would have still gotten the same achievment, cause i think This is just as amazing. Thank you Brian,Roger,John, and Freddie.
please watch my videos at Sokwest and leave a comment, if you do, i will personally go to your channel and thank you! Only if you leave a comment! QUEEN RULES!

This has to one of my favorite songs. These guys were brilliant they were one of the reasons why music was so good in the 70's 80's and 90's. I'm not gonna include many bands from the 2000's because theres not many.

Your too right there. Good bands are really thining out.

Its sad how music is now a days.

Brian wrote this one, and he got the general plot outline from a dream about Noah's Ark and the Great Flood

Amazing song. This track and "Bohemian Rhapsody" are my favorites from "A Night at the Opera" and are in my list of the top Queen songs. They should have played this live. It would have been an awesome sight to see and hear.
PinkFloydManiac1973 2 years ago 2
Just found out that they did play it live. I wish I could have seen it, though.
PinkFloydManiac1973 2 years ago 2
they have actually. Search around ytube and you'll find it:) not 100% full song but much of it, even Freddie's solo part. ! :)

I think that if "The Prophets Song" was realesed as a single instead of Bohemian Rhapsody Queen would have still gotten the same achievment, cause i think This is just as amazing. Thank you Brian,Roger,John, and Freddie.

Rolling Stone magazine called the Prophet's Song the best song on the Night the Opera album. Even though Bohemian Rhapshody is also on it.
