  • Farrokh Bulsara... perfect voice, classically trained on the piano, songwriter, designed Queens logo....collector of Japanese art..Beautiful,shy sweet and yes ...sexy... part of something so perfect. Brian May Guitar Master Brilliant song writter, Roger Taylor great on drums and that falsetto John Deacon wrote some of Queen's most memorible songs and amazing bass player.. I miss your presence Freddie Mercury..I admire how you lived...and died on your terms Glad I got to see Queen LIVE

  • word MASTERPIECE means: 'The Prophet's song'

The greatest band ever means: Queen :)

  • im 17

and i remember before i immigrated to canada when i was 12

i grew up, literally, listening to queen. my parents had 11 cassettes (yes, cassettes, haha) of queen.

and today, i decided to just listen to all of the songs from queen, and

i just miss my childhood, and i miss good music.

    this is real music.

  • @michelleleawaldrop The latter :D

  • the greatest!!!!!!! Queen amazing!!!! great video!!! ciao from italy

  • Really he was a diva! Beautiful and unforgetable man, a legend, a revolution. Think he didn ´t die because of aids, in my opinion, he was low defenses and physically exhausted, that ´s all, but they killed with all kind of chemical medicines. So sad and reprehensible, still he had a lot to give to their fans. NOW IN NOV.2011 TWENTY YEARS ARE MET HIS DEATH. Don´t forget it!

  • i've been listening to Queen since i was 7 now im 17 i think this man and band are able to cure disease and this i discovered this song 1 year ago and then it became my fav song ever together with bohemian rhapsody , march of the black queen , all my love , Stairway to heaven , kashmir, and Under Pressure =D

  • @peruvian4041 Those are all really great songs you listed. Cheers mate!

  • I love this amazing song.I love this Slide Show.Thank you!

  • simply an eargasm ;)

  • "I like". No, I don't like this. I LOVE it!!!

  • I Listenedt o this lp forever as a teenager in the 70s makes todays music even worse than I think it is lol

  • The fact is horrible and simple :

today's artists are following the "easy money" fashion .

Bands like Queen made money by creating their own style ,fashion ... that's why this band is still one of the most beloved one (and I will not write about Freddie's charisma and voice ,nor Sir May's guitar abilities ...)

  • I are 9 year old girl frum Germany and i dont like today music. It are Just auto Tune and no real music like this Queen. Queen are real talent just listen to it! Thumps up if u argree

    <3 Queen

  • @TheRealJackfrog Your English is cute! But you can improve it. :)))

  • @bohemianrhapsody694 I completely agree! I'm the same age as you and Queen are the best! THIS is REAL music!

  • Wow.... I forgot this one for years. I used to listen to this on vinyl. His Royal Freddieness is still Prince of the Universe.

  • Wow....

  • Does Brian do any lead singing on this song?

Like at the beginning "Ohhhhh, people of the earth"?

  • @jwmellott No, all lead is by Freddie on this one....

  • these guys are the most original band on the planet and way ahead of their time. God knows what amazing music they would have made if not for freddies untimely demise. rip freddie.

  • Finished building my Ark 10 yrs ago.

Animals wandering all around waiting to board.

Im just waiting for the rain, the flood.

  • queen is the very best of the world!!!!

  • i really love brian may's song writing and his delay effects

  • I'm a 17 girl and I got my first Queen album when I was 12 and ever since I've loved them! My favorite band then, now, and always. Honestly, I don't think there is any other group out there who better than Queen (the incredible vocals, guitar, lyrics, and the fact that every song brings something new)-if there is, please let me know!

  • @RZFlute I've been looking, haven't found anyone yet!

  • @RZFlute No such band excists...

  • did anyone else used to turn the balance to one side and sing the other side of the harmony? or was it just me? Epic song!

  • Sublime....... grande video!

  • This has to be the most epic song EVER!! I'm 22, and discovered the music of Queen when I was 15, and have been obsessed ever since. No greater band, no greater frontman...King Freddie...we love you...

  • I don't remember when this came out but I 1st heard it in the early 1980's. Simply brilliant (with the exception of the middle stanza), powerful and pure genius. Muscians today can learn from the 70's and 80's. THANKYOU for posting this!

  • God knows I love Queen and freddie...but I cant understand his stile in his young days...It`s just fucked up and then he finaly grew up...yeah man that`s the stile...love ya freddie..R.I.P.

  • i handed this song in as poem in english for an assignment at school...and got an "A" for it...lol

  • This is one of my faves too,but still I couldn't choose just ONE fave!

  • The hairs on my neck stand on end everytime I hear the final words: "But still I fear, and still I dare, not laugh at the madman!"

Beautiful song; it's essentially May's Bohemian Rhapsody.

  • :P.

  • I BELIEVE IN THIS SONG!

  • Freddie Mercury had the GREATEST singing voice. he was like a one man orchestra

  • i remember my sister and her friends jammin queen in the early seventies. I also knew every word of the album within a week or so. There will never be another to front a band like Freddie did. This is part of the sound track of my child hood .

  • Me and my sister were singing this song ALL night last night :D

    Best song!

  • I was in my teens and this video and album grings back great memories. Thanks for all rock and roll.

  • I was in my teens and this video and album grings back great memories. Thanks for all rock and roll.

  • a true rockster,u live freddie in our hearts!!!

  • I love this song.

I remember recording off a certain pirate radio station , when I was a kid , Oh , many years ago !

    Great memories !

Thanks for posting it with such a great slide show too.

  • I seen VH1s "Classic Albums" on "A Night @ The Opera", i was pissed when they mentioned and disscussed every song on that album except...guess which one...THIS ONE!

  • i was thinkin if u would put the days of our lives photo at or near the end and u did. I guess it completes it ( at the end),, anyway sweet pictures queen the best !!

  • since freddie mercury passed away the rock passed too . i hate to say it but its true.too many rock bands but no one has the same spirit than queen and other bands got in the 60´s and 70´s.

  • One evening, years ago, my (ex) wife and I sat and listened to this. When it was finished, we sat in silence for a moment. Then she turned to me and said "I wonder if they knew what an astonishing piece of music they created?"

It's been years since I heard this. Now, I'm sitting here, and I'm almost speechless. This song is an absolute masterpiece. One of those works that stands apart from other mere pop songs s as being truly great music.

  • @mysticjaz You are right, it is Mays BoRhap

  • thats great song

    and funny slideshow

    queen forever

  • how is this slide funny its sad since he DIED FROM AIDS

  • choirs of angels...led by freddie!!!

  • Took me a few listens before I was able to appreciate this song. But now I love it---even though the vocal solo could get a little awkward at live performances.

    Definitely Brian May's magnus opum

  • if that's latin then its 'magnus opus'

  • @teo2712

    actually magnum opus

  • lol youtube quality rly ruins this song.

  • queen was my 1st rock concert in dec '77 at madison square garden...AWESOME

  • Cool

  • you lucky bastard... most of us weren't born then.

  • '78 in Phoenix. Roger using his 72" inch gong at the end of 'Bohemian Rhaposdy brouht the house down! It was just one of those moments! Endless chills! Glad for you!!

  • '77 at madison square garden....MY FIRST ROCK CONCERT!

I led a sheltered life....God was that an amizing show...culture shock too!

almost missed my bus home...was wondering if i should sleep on a park bench or in a tree! or maybe just not EVER fall asleep!!!!

the encore was "jumping jack flash" by the stones

oh i did find the bus ok, got home fine...with a lot of flyers for adult entertainment.

  • Them good ol' days eh?

  • jajaja blind guardian inspire a night of the opera album from queens album!!

  • this song is trippy but it's awsome

  • provází mě celý život!!super

  • This is one of my favourite songs. (:

  • I think this song is better than Bohemian repsody!

  • I still love Queen, the last album I bought was The Game, but I tossed them aside for a while when i was 16 and became a punk listening to the Sex Pistols in 1977

  • the game was released in 1980....

  • I was 7 years old when "A Night at the Opera" came out. My mother had an old console stereo and she'd take the back off it and stick her head inside and play the entire album. I knew the lyrics to "Bohemian Rhapsody" within the week the album was released. I can remember the matte finish of the cardboard and the embossed logo, running my fingers over it while I pondered what they meant when they said "no synthesisers!" on the inside cover of the bi-fold album cover. This album IS my childhood.

  • @squirrelly6886

I wasn't even born... I dont think... but can you believe that there were 36+ individual reel tracks running simultaneously to create that sone!!! That's brilliantly genius for its time!!!

  • ahh i like the killers and muse, but queen, the rolling stones, are awesome!

  • im 9 yrs old and i hate the new crap music i like rock and roll well i really love it of course Queen i love you Freddie rock our world again please :D

  • I hope you know that Freddie Mercury is dead.

  • i do

  • Good thing Queen isn't Rock and Roll now isn't it? There is a HUGE difference between Rock and Roll and Rock.

And just because you're 9 years old doesn't mean you have to ignore punctuation.

  • Roll and Rock rocks

  • You don't need to label rock, is not important if it is Buddy Holly or Pink Floyd, I think rock'n'roll is more an atitude them a sound. Of course, my opinion...

Btw, it's internet, punctuation is important, but the message is much more, you don't need to be such a jerk about it.

  • Anyone Ouija board? XD

  • uhhhhhh

  • A masterpiece.

  • im a 15 year old girl and all i can say is that music today is crap... i love classic rock, especially Queen. Queen is the greatest band ever! <3

  • @bohemianrhapsody694 you are the coolest 15 year old girl ever haha

  • @bohemianrhapsody694 I hear you! I'm a 17 year old girl, and Queen has been my absolute favourite band ever since I can remember! My first Queen song was Bohemian Rhapsody when I was an infant, and ever since I've collected any and everything to do with Queen that I could get my hands on! This IS my favourite song!!!

I'm just glad to know I'm not the only teenage girl who's obsessed with Queen :P

  • @bohemianrhapsody694 16 read old boy hear! :D And I totaly agree with you...

  • @bohemianrhapsody694

Finally someone who has the same viewpoint as me, I’m 14 and everyone thinks I’m crazy

  • @timburtonmad Good to hear that teens like you and @bohemianrhapsody694 know how to appreciate good music, Queen music :)

  • @bohemianrhapsody694 Sure it is great, but why mention your age and gender? Is it relevant?

  • @bohemianrhapsody694 so do i! but i'm 18

  • @bohemianrhapsody694 Whoa, sounds like the girl of my dreams, wanna start dating?

  • 14 yr old girl... queen is my fav band and will always remain that way :D

  • W00T this is my favorite queen song too!

  • Nice to hear this again

and great to see the old photos !

conjures up memories of listening to this on my headphones full volume, laid on my bed around `76 reading the lyrics and scanning the album sleeve for any info I may have missed.

no synths you say ey ?

    LoL

  • isn't this a bit slow compared to the original recordings ?

  • Comment removed

  • im 11 years old. and man the new rock n role is shit compared to Queen, pink floide, and that beatles

  • Yes, because Beatles is obviously new compared to Queen

  • awesome bro, im 17 but i was into the same music as u at ur age, beatles and queen rule all

  • you rock! peace and love brother. dont ever change and listen to hannah montanna or whatever, lol. rock on. when all queen fans are gone, we will look down from heaven, and laugh at those who betrayed real music, and we will reach down our hands, and offer them our kingdom, only if they accept real music. (remember, long after your great, great grandchildren are gone, this music will be all thats left. we leave this magic to generations to come. peace.

  • your comment is sooo hilarious yet dramatic. but i do agree that a lot of mainstream music isn't good anymore. it's too edited!

  • You are 11 years old? That is great!

Dude. You have insight.. and feeling! You are well on your waay! Awesome!

  • I'm 35 and my wife is 34 -> The album was recorded in my year or birth and released in hers. ;o)#

  • You know it's one of queens greatests, when at first it sounds weird and later you can't stop listening to it.

  • The fact that this song (and most of the other songs from this album) are not well-known is something I, as a Queen fan, consider sacrilegious.

  • Lyrically, this my favourite piece by Queen. Brian May did a splendid job.

  • night at the opera on vynil is the best ever

  • How can some people had forgot masterpieces like this I dunno... They are just wonderful!!! But most of time you ask someone "Hey, have you ever listened to something about Queen?" they reply you "ah! Yeah! Queen: We are the champions, Bhoemian Rhapsody, We will rock you..." "Yeah, right, and what else?" "Sorry? Have they written something else?"

    I dunno, I don't really dunno how...

  • It´s a pity that only commercial hits like the one you named are known by "non rocker public" but the fact is that Queen is a great band that played Heavy metal, Trash metal, power metal, rockabilly, jazz, blues, country, and wathever they wanted to play. If I should take a band to a "desert island" obviously I´ll take Queen, listening to them is listening to all music genres!

  • Born in 1974, like me. I really love this song and the entire Night at the Opera album!

  • 3:40 they are soooo young, wow

  • Amazing song. Definitely one of Queen's best, it's up there with "March of the Black Queen", "Father to Son", "Death on two Legs" and countless others. I prefer the heavier, more dramatic sound of Queen. Real pity they lost that around 1977...

  • Every band changes after a while ,and are bound to change, especially Freddie who hated to do the same music over and over. Im just glad the music they made later was still very good.

  • Oh, of course. I generally enjoy all Queen music, but they were at their creative best between 1973 - 1976.

  • agree

  • In the end, sadly that's exactly what he did. I wish they had ended up with something like this instead of "This could be Heaven for Everyone" a mediocre song at best if you compare it to this masterpiece. Now that would had been "The Miracle". As it's almost impossible that any musician can turn around things like that.

  • 3:07 freddie looks hot!!

  • From where you have taken these photos? :O They are fantastic... We still love you, Freddie

  • To be honest I dont really think this could get better i think everyone is damned :)

  • its amazing how good this song is,

and yet queen have about 5 better songs,

im a metalhead but il always regard queen as the best band of all time,

  • In your opinion which ones? Because Bohemian can't top this.

  • I consider songs like innuendo, love of my life, these are the days of our lives, liar and was it all worth it to be better but thats just my opinion,

  • Very good Video I loved it!

    Where you found the photos?

Specially the Photo of Freddy wher he standing with a leg on the ground and with the other on a box (black and white clothes/ on the beginning)

  • seriously..this is one of the best songs I have heard in my lifetime. You will never hear another song with the melodies & mixes ever.

  • this is from the second album is that right?

  • nope, the fourth: A Night at the Opera

    Queen 1973

    Queen II 1974

    Sheer Heart Attack 1974

A Night at the Opera 1975 (track 8)

  • fuck you're right

  • This has to one of my favorite songs. These guys were brilliant they were one of the reasons why music was so good in the 70's 80's and 90's. I'm not gonna include many bands from the 2000's because theres not many.

  • Your too right there. Good bands are really thining out.

  • Its sad how music is now a days.

  • And many of the great ones that are still in existence are dying out. Pink Floyd is technically still around, but with two of its original members (Syd Barrett and Rick Wright) dead and a resistance from David Gilmour to start again with Roger Waters and Nick Mason, the future looks bleak.

  • Also these Pics Are amazing !

  • 0:34 Freddie And His Thumb Up I think Everybody Has Done it back To Him Loll

  • Is it just me or does this song remind you of the story of Oedipus? Maybe that's where they got their idea. This song does have a slight demonic glow to it. Regardless it is a wonderful creation from the gods of oprea rock.

  • Brian wrote this one, and he got the general plot outline from a dream about Noah's Ark and the Great Flood

  • I'm 17.

    Now, I Know.

    (that you can hear me)

  • shit, could this song be any more perfect???

  • Oh! these pictures are so cool. Some of them I never have seen before. There are a good tool to remember that great man how was ours Farouck Bulsara.

  • Amazing song. This track and "Bohemian Rhapsody" are my favorites from "A Night at the Opera" and are in my list of the top Queen songs. They should have played this live. It would have been an awesome sight to see and hear.

  • Just found out that they did play it live. I wish I could have seen it, though.

  • they have actually. Search around ytube and you'll find it:) not 100% full song but much of it, even Freddie's solo part. ! :)

  • That solo is amazing!! Especially if you know how he did it. (hint: no computers).

  • best. song. ever.

  • this song does sound like a biblical song.

    go Queen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think that if "The Prophets Song" was realesed as a single instead of Bohemian Rhapsody Queen would have still gotten the same achievment, cause i think This is just as amazing. Thank you Brian,Roger,John, and Freddie.

  • best vocal solo in rock

  • Listen to the voice... a Prophet sings !

  • Profondissima! Perentoria! Poderosa! Profetica! Illuminante! Di spessore unico! Voce e musica spaziali! Geniale May! QUEEN!

  • gracias queen por esta cancion, gracias por todo

  • Rolling Stone magazine called the Prophet's Song the best song on the Night the Opera album. Even though Bohemian Rhapshody is also on it.

  • hard call but I'm with them

  • One of the greatest songs ever written...

  • Stairway to Heaven ain't got shit on this.

  • Comment removed

  • I love led zep but I gotta agree with you on that

  • uggggh i hate how many people have never heard this one... uggggh they call themselves queen fans...

  • Only the best band of all times could do a song like this!

  • still i fear ,, no,, still i dare,,not laugh at the madman.

  • one of the best song ever!
