Actually, that isnt likely to be the case at all. Entertainers and athletes aren't the same. Joe Louis' mental illness was mentioned prominently after his death. Blowing is for noobs. I just grab a bit of toilet paper, douse it in 90% isopropyl alcohol, wring it so that it's damp (but not dripping wet), run it along both sides of the contacts, and then run a dry wad of toilet paper, and then slowly insert the cartridge while simultaneously exerting a downward force (so that it slides in *diagnolly*). This trick almost always gets the game in question to work.

Mine American NES worketh so well that I don't even need to do any of that, and it was made in 1987. It never freezes (unless abused), never glitches-up, and starts working in 1 second. If you are still hitting the system and cleaning cartridges all the time, you are doing it wrong. Replace your 72-pin adaptor with a brand-new one or you can clean the existing one with a toothbrush.

Well, you have to consider the fact that I bought all my NESes second hand from people at garage sales (heck, I found one in the box in the trash... yes, w/e call me a garbage picker, but when I saw a nintendo box in excellent condition sitting on the curb, I grabbed it. And it was even better when I found out there was a freaking nintendo in it, with all the wires and stuff :D).

Mine was also second-hand. Mine was from a trade (I traded a US SNES, since I had 2 of them), and it was in very shitty shape when I recieved it. I cleaned the system and restored it, and it is as good as new. Also, I too trash pick, but I only find working TVs and 8-track players.

I already trash pick weekly. My latest additions are a 1999 iMac G3, a 1997 Compaq (parted-out), and a late '90s portable TV (smashed, as it didn't work). Some other additions (earlier) are a 1970s Zenith TV set (permanent piece of my collection), a 1970s stereo w/ 8-track (parted-out), a '70s and an '80s phonograph (the '70s one sits in my basement, while the '80s one was fried, so it was crushed), and other crap.
