  • Best one EVER, you two. I think I watched the last thirty secs probably ten times straight! :D

  • Why don't yall workout your brachialis

  • hey hey! Have you considered the Fat Blast Furnace (do a google search)? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my friend shed tons of weight.

  • ive been lifting for about 6 month now and ive seen alot of strength gain, im 182 lbs 16, but i dont wanna put on any more weight im tryin to loose a bit of it ?

  • Obviously you need to eat excess!, you can still do it with getting fat, i do, its not too hard. Your body is going to convert the calories to muscle, and i eat a fuckload. Being lean and building muscles isnt too hard as long as you eat as much as you can of GOOD carbs and fats. Definitely don't agree with eating fried chicken and all they other shit you guys do.

  • check scooby guys.

he will explain you. and he is twice your size.

  • @alpen13 Scooby is a freak (genetically), so he can get away with it just fine. For mere mortals cutting and bulking is the most efficient way to get bigger.

  • @myne4

no bro, look at his photos 20 years ago, he was just a normal guy, average physicque. the thing is he has been lifting longer than I live, so he knows what he is talking about. i love twins, but 3 years experience is no comparison to 25 years experience of Scooby. so in some key aspects i tend to agree with him.

  • THESE TWO DUDES ARE THE SHIT!

  • You can at least maintain muscle while burning fat

  • I think you guys are right. I've lost over 50 pounds since starting lifting in October 2011. I've gained some strength and mass, but at the start of february I've started eating a bit more carbs and it's going better, it sucks because I want to lose fat but there's no other way to do it. I believe I put on more muscle this month than I did from October to January.... Insane.

  • Scooby1961. That's all I have to say

  • @Giggity08 hodgetwins ruule, scooby just sounds gay

  • I knew all this stuff before I even watched this video, I just kept watching cause I loved watching you guys talk lol

  • Fuck yeah man, my friends are like man I don't wanna eat Wendy's I don't wanna get a gut and I'm eating triples whenever I get the chance and they wonder why their bench hasn't gone up in 3 months and mine just went up from 240 to 250 in about a month, I'm gonna show them this video they act like they wanna build muscle and stay lean and that's why they aren't making gains

  • This is why i like them they make a lot of fucking since.

  • you guys are the best lol "i bet you my dick" lmao

  • I WANNA BUILD MUSCLE!!

  • This is a 100 % true, although I disagree about he pizza and stuff, at least for me. I have no problem still eating clean when I bulk up, I gain a lot of weight but not to much fat, so I don't have to burn all that fat of again, but you gotta do what works for you! Do what ever the fuck you wanna do!

  • how long do you guys cut for ?

  • Losing 50 pounds of fat is also super hard. Oh and You CAN build muscle and lose fat at the same time! Look at Scooby's videos......

  • Now, compare how long Scooby and those guys have been lifting to get this results. IMO they look now like Scooby after more than 10 years of working out.

  • i started last year in feb just lifting no cardio.i was 298 at the time, now i at 265 i have lost weight and build muscle but now i feel i can build no more. i do believe i have gain may be 20 or more pounds of muscle. when i fisrt started i had no diet and now i do. but its true i have not seeing any more muscle growth with this diet.

  • first your videos pissed me off but i have to admit, the end was funny as hell

  • I completely agree with you guys right now im doing this on my offseason for football gonna start my cutting phase in april been bulking for 3 months so far seeing great results!

  • It might be a good idea to bulk slowly so you dont have to diet so hard to get back down.

  • Don't need to eat shit to be in a surplus. I'm eating in a surplus of over 700 calories and I eat very healthily. Annoyingly bad advice. Grr,

  • If you need 3000 calories to be in a good muscle building surplus and you get all of your protein, carbohydrates and fats every day. You WILL build the same amount of muscle as eating fried chicken, pizzas and mashed potato.

Look at it this way. Lean chicken breast will have less calories, but look where the extra calories come from in fried chicken. Bad fats from deep frying and skin. The ONLY THING this will do is put fat on you.

I like all of your videos but this is terrible advice.

  • @DaPs166 That's not how it works. Calories in = calories out. A calorie is a calorie to your body. How "clean" that calorie is doesn't change what your body does with it (burn it or store it) instead the extra junk that comes along with it can effect long term health. If you're eating too many calories, it doesn't matter where they come from, you'll put on fat.

  • You dont have to put on lots of fat to build muscle.

If you eat in your calorie surplus and eat foods that are good for you, you'll still put on the same amount of muscle.

If you eat in a calorie surplus and have lots of bad foods, you'll put on muscle and lots of fat.

Depends how much you can control yourself.....

  • LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • WHERE IS THE DANCE IN THE INTRO

  • What a load of BS just do a search for Hannibal For King /watch?v=Wy7-SO7TsoE this guy stays in this shape all year round and guess what he doesn't even lift weights. Bulking and cutting is a big myth, a lie if you like ask any gymnast. There are other sports where guys have to carry a fair bit of muscle and these sports involve a lot of cardio and the sports men stay lean and don't bulk just think of sports like rugby, nfl, gymnastics. Think outside the box

  • @Dai7261 Gymnasts aren't body builders; they're not trying to put on more and more muscle. Bulking and cutting is an effective way of putting on a larger net amount of lean mass over a period of time than most any other method.

  • @MegaLadysman1234 You are absolutely correct gymnasts are not bodybuilders but, non the less they build as much muscle in certain places (depending on specialisation in gymnastics as bodybuilders) back, shoulders, arms not so much chest, as any natural bodybuilder but gymnast don't do bulking and cutting phase as this would be counter productive to there sport (unnecessary weight makes doing it harder). so ask yourself id they can do it why can't bodybuilders.

  • @Dai7261 Sorry, I should have been more clear. What I was trying to get at was that bodybuilders are consistently trying to put more and more mass on their bodies, while gymnasts are trying to get to the perfect point where muscular strength and endurance are balanced. This means that they're much better off staying within that narrow caloric range where you can maintain or put on a little lean muscle while keeping off, and burning fat. This strategy is not effective for bodybuilders.

  • I think it all comes down to your own personal body. Listen to your fuckin body and experiment with it. Do you have enough energy going into the gym? No? Well eat some more. Oh, you have enough? Well try and cut down ur meals until you find the sweet spot where you have enough energy but its not overdone where you gain excess fat.

  • @DEIMOSLOL I agree. I think bulking/cutting works, but not for everybody. Same with staying lean all year round. Different ends of the spectrum have acquired phenomenal results, and the biggest common factor, whether steroids are involved or not, is those guys found what stimulus/regimens work best for them.

  • Kevin is hella awesome, His laugh is seriously contagious!

Whenever he laughs I betcha everyone here is crackin up!

  • what about on off days?!?!?!?!!

  • I laugh every damn video I watch hahaha

  • What about someone who's not a beginner but has excess of 20% BF, would they build muscle without a surplus?

I ask because I have a friend who lifts but is morbidly obese, do you think he could lose fat and build muscle?

  • @KaeruthePaladin is that friend you?

  • @KaeruthePaladin yes he would if he did high intersity workouts

  • @KaeruthePaladin Losing fat is a result of two things. 1. Consuming less calories, especially fat and carbs. 2. Doing more cardio.

Define beginner. Let you in on a secret. NOBODY with the exception of pro bodybuilders ever come close to doing any weight training exercise long enough in a typical session to ever seriously burn fat. A pro will work out 2 hours or more, but also uses steroids, growth hormones and maybe injects insulin that lets him work out hard enough.

  • @KaeruthePaladin

    Cont 1

If you've ever watched "Biggest Loser" on tv you see the trainers mainly have the tubs of lard doing cardio until they're ready to drop over. Assuming no health issues, that's the way to drop fat fast. You can drop some body fat with weight training, but only if you get your heart rate up and go for at least 35 minutes. Few people can do that and you still need to do HARD, HEAVY exercises like bench press, squats, deadlifts.

  • @willieofroanoke

    Cont 2

I define "hard" as being out of breath by your second set of squats or deadlifts, your heat really pumping and you can do 4-5 sets like that without passing out. If you can, then yeah that will burn body fat and build muscle. Few people can do that, nor should they unless they're already in good shape.

  • Cont 2

Jack invented train to failure. He also said warm up before exercise is bullshit. Never bothered. Favorite line" I would hate to die; it would ruin my image" He lived to 96.

What's the point of me writing all this? Simple why fall for bullshit? This guy was in super shape from 15 till he died 81 years later. Did 2 hours of exercise every day, no rest between exercies. You don't need to cycle, overeat, not ever over lift. Surprise, it's all bulshit. Well Jack thought so and proved it.

  • @willieofroanoke how about you? are you in shape?

  • @lalem91 Yeah, I'm in good shape.

The moral of this little spat is just because somebody IS in shape doesn't mean they automatically give good, accurate advice, no more than somebody in bad shape giving always bad advice. That seems to have be a common theme in this comment section and others based on ignorance.

  • @willieofroanoke if his philosophy works for you or if u even tried it then good for you. Why should we listen to what was true back then when new information and more scientific research has proven other things that seem to work for 99% of people now

  • @PwntsRocksU You like many confuse "broscience" with real science. Broscience is just bullshit one gym rat passes on to the next or slop posted on sites that sell supplements like bodybuilding com. Hey, I'm not a fan of Ian either. He does run his mouth way too much and half of what he says he out of context and yeah I saw a couple of his vids "working out" at some gym and couldn't stop laughing. There is absolutely no scientific proof I've seen that in any way supports "bulking".

  • @PwntsRocksU

    Cont 1

Nor "cutting", again an example of bodybuilder broscience. Common sense alone should tell you it doesn't work. If you want a more detailed answer I'll explain why. In short if you consume more carbs and even protein your body does one thing with the excess, converts it to fat BECAUSE that is the only way it can store calories not burned. Bodybuilders think by bulking their add muscle. No, they're mostly adding fat which they burn off in the cutting phase.

  • @PwntsRocksU

    Cont 2

So-called "bulking" is delusional thinking. I've looked for and failed to find a single bodybuilder saying when he bulks he actually makes a proportional increase in how hard he's working out. If he don't, then like I said all that intake of extra carbs and proteins is for nothing. If you don't burn it up for fuel using your muscles working out harder you shouldn't need to be an Einstein to figure out what I just said has to be true.

  • @willieofroanoke Reply to me in 1 message i dont want to read 3. Ok when they bulk they maximize their muscle gains and to do so sometimes they add on some fat. thats fine because it will be taken off when they are CUTTING. if u train hard for 4 years with bulking up and then cutting down to remove excess fat you will see how it does make a differnece in stages

  • @PwntsRocksU You don't deserve any help, you're too stupid to learn. Typical of twin fans.

  • @willieofroanoke I dont need help ive been bulking and cutting for years you are just some ignorant skinny fuck whos mirin

  • @PwntsRocksU So you've been a damn fool that long, wow, impressive.

  • Cont 1

This guy invented the Smith machine, leg extension attachment, the first pulley based exercise machines. Jack once did 1,000 jumping jacks and 1,000 chin up, non stop, in an hour 22 minutes. Swam from Alcatraz Island to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco while handcuffed. He did push-ups on his finger tips, one handed. Starting to get the picture?

His diet, advocated a near meatless diet, just a little fish. No supplements, just vitamins and none of the 6-8 meals a day shit, 2 meals.

  • I'm sick of these two assholes spamming Youtube with their bullshit. If you're under 30, what follows is for you. Ever here the name Jack LaLanne? Maybe you've seen him late at night doing a infocommerical as the "juiceman" pushing his juicer machine in his 90's. Well kids, go to his Wikipedia page and take a look at him way back in 1947. This guy was the real deal. Bulking, cutting, he'd laugh his ass off at such stupid bullshit. This guy build the first fitness center in the U. S.

  • Guys cracked me up enjoyed the vid

  • I won't leave a fucked up comment coz I'm a skinny ass dude

  • you guys are fucking awesome

  • Why do people still have this idea that muscle and fat are connected, fat is stored energy for when you cant get energy from food and muscle adapts by getting bigger or smaller depending on how hard they are worked or not worked. completely unrelated.

  • So if you are a begginer you dont have to worry about cardio as much??

  • @bolsenny Basically, when your bulking.. your cardio should be minimal, it is good to do some brisk walking on your off days to get the blood circulating through your muscles to clear out all the lactic acid build up and speed up recovery. When your cutting, you should focus more on your diet and start up your cardio again.

  • If you're eating 4000 calories a day and you only burn 3000 off, the rest is just going to get store as fat, how the hell is that productive? That extra 1000 calories is never going to do anything for you, especially when it's the likes of pizza and shit like you just admitted to having. You're quite up you're own asses by saying 'you're never gonna be as big as me if you don't do exactly what I do'.

  • @mgcraine To get in 500 more kcal than you get out will ensure you that u don't get less kcal than you you can burn. It's not about gaining fat, it's about making sure you are on kcal surplus every single hour of the day!

  • @klasanders I understand, basically you might as well be safe and have more calories if you want to gain muscle, but I think that people put on a far too much fat when it comes to bulking, especially when it comes to what these guys are saying.

  • @mgcraine They're basically saying that you need a calorie surplus to build muscle and it's difficult for them to get a calorie surplus when they're eating foods that are high in fiber and foods that are slow digesting. They do have a point. I don't see how it's possible for a person who isn't on a calorie surplus to build a lot of muscle.

  • Best ending ever :D

  • One of the few videos I have to disagree with. I've done a lot of bulking and cutting and to be honest it is not worth it. As you've said, it is hard as hell to put on muscle. Why the fuck would you want to gain a whole lot of fat too?

As long as you are consuming a few more calories (100 - 500) than you're burning, you will gain muscle. Any extra calories will all be stored as fat. People go on 'bulking' phases to have an excuse to eat like shit.

  • hhahaha. Awesome

  • HodgeTwins r the Best!

    We want TwinMuscleWorkout shirts!!!

  • How healthy is your bulk up method in the long run of eating pizza, steak and burgers like hell? Do you worry about clogging your arteries and developing cardiovascular diseases as you get older?

  • @etamlous you've never had a pizza or a burger? you dont just get that shit from eating like this for awhile, its when you are fat and unfit and then everything is starting to really turn bad, they eat like this for awhile then cut down after they get the results they wanted.

  • Why can't I just eat A LOT OF clean food? Doesn't that help cut and bulk? Isn't there ANY middle ground? There just has to be some stability, or else I'm fucked, I am already a little fat and I'm trying to gain muscle and loss all the excessive fat.

  • This must be the first video he said "fuck you wanna do" at the end. Great advice.

  • @jelopysloppy not the first, but i think it's the first where keith growls when he says it, which is why kevin laughs so hard lol

  • These guys R THE shit.. funny ass dudes

  • SPONT ON GUYS=)...awesome video btw!=)

  • funniest video that I've seen from you guys so far, probably because you were so into what you are talking about. I agree with you totally, and it took me a long time to realize this on my own. I'm the same age as you guys, and have been working out about the same amount of time. I fought with myself for over a year regarding this same subject, and almost gave up working out because of my frustration. Once I realized that I just wasn't eating and overloading enough, everything came together.

  • WHAT! 50 Pounds!? and 10 -15 pounds of muscle, thats 40 - 35 pounds of fat! You have to be over exaggerating! That doesnt sound to healthy.

  • @FutureUnChanged hey its hard as hell to build muscle, so its worth it. building muscle is harder than losing fat

  • @FutureUnChanged hey these are big guys dont forget that, 40pounds is not as bad as you think on a 6.3ft 200lb+ frame. If your like 5.7 and 160 it would look worse

  • @princejlee yeah they may be big, but do you know what 30-40 lbs of fat looks like? Just google what 5 lbs of fat looks like and you'll get the picture. I still think they over exaggerating.

  • @FutureUnChanged hey man hes meaning they will put on 40-50 pounds bulking up then they will cut down all the weight and keep 10 pounds of muscle

  • @FutureUnChanged oh really he's over exaggerating? nice observation professor

  • This is brilliant. Love these things. Logic's sound as well. I'ma go eat a cow.

  • I find simply bulking up, gettin somewhat fat, motivates me to actually cut. Cos i wasn't that fat when i started, so getting fat gives me something to loose....if you get me

  • these niggas are funny af foo

  • It has actually been proven in scientific studies that you can eat under your maintenance calories and lose fat while muscle hypterphrohy can occur. However when you do this you build less muscle and it takes a whole hell of a lot longer...so if you all you care about is gaining muscle then bulk but if you want to lose mostly fat and gain a small amount of muscle you can

  • so....what happens if i'm at like 17% body fat, and not a ton of muscle, but my first concern is getting that 17% down to like 10 or so, while all the while working out, lifting, taking a lot of protein, creatine, ect. what would you guys suggest. is it smart to get to my 10% body fat goal and then try to build more muscle? because i'm really not trying to go above the body fat % i'm at now.

  • How it is possible to build muscle while being in a defecit. So your body needs these extra calories right? Well where do these extra calories come from? YOUR FAT STORES. your fat is pretty much stored carbohydrates. It is possible, but if your really low bf like 6%, shit gets complicated then.

  • lol i agree but but if you follow these guys watch it because arteries don't understand bulking and cutting

  • im devolping a massive twinmuscleworkout addiction, you guys have come at just the right time. you bring a very refreshing edge to bodybuilding that has been long needed bodybuilding is going down the pan but you guys could well be the ones that save it, just keep on posting your genius mix of entertainment and education .

  • hell yea dont like skinny and cut faggots you need to actually have muscle i have fat but alot of muscle so its worth it

  • can u bulk and cut on a weekly basis?

  • Don't really know what to say guys. I mean, I've been eating 500 cals under BMR. Been making consistent strength gains. I've lost 42 lbs. Another 8 and I'll be sub 10% bf. My strength has gone up significantly. I've added over 110 lbs to my deadlift. I now have good sized lats, where as before I had none. I can clearly see the lean mass in the mirror. Muscles where there were none. Been doing this since august. I eat alot of carbs before I go to the gym. After I eat a large protein rich meal.

  • @afafasdfsdfsdg Your full of shit.

  • @Stevofxx Words cannot describe the mental anguish I'm feeling right now. When an imbecile who does not know how to abbreviate "you are" insults me, it's as if the sky is falling. How am I ever going to be the same? How can I change your opinion of me? What will I do if a moron I'll never meet from the Internet doesn't believe me?

My deadlift has now increased an additional 10 lbs since my last post. Tell me I've had no significant muscle growth with a 120 lb strength increase.

  • @afafasdfsdfsdg Adding 110 lbs on deadlift while being 500 cals under BMR is more bizzare and out of the ordinary than me failing to abbreviate "you are". Congrats on being a grammatical try hard on a place where it matters most. Lol your deadlift increased by 10 lbs since your last post? God damn, start your own youtube channel then.

  • @afafasdfsdfsdg that's cool, that exactly what they said. That you'll be able to do that for the first 4-6 months of training but after that it gets very hard to do.

  • So is it possible to build muscle whilst maintaining your amount of body fat?

  • @thetubesta Yes, yes it is. That's called a "clean bulk"!

  • you guys are so fucking funny man. but what you say is true no doubt.

  • please help SOMEBODY ! If im going to cut down my body fat so my muscles shows out , should i doing my 3 times a week workouts or should i only walk and eat healty ?

  • @vivabelend weights 3x a week and cardio 2-3x then sort your DIET. you must run a deficit. just watch a few more of these videos lol

  • xD This video had me laughing my ass off. You guys are funny.

  • copy past url and sent to freind whos doing both

  • you burn fat while lifting weights :S??

you can do it but your nutrition has to be spot on perfect

  • good info brothers,love it.......

  • Adding just one pound of lean muscle mass can garner you roughly 100 extra calories burned per day even at rest. With that in mind, it is important to gain muscle but shift your focus from losing weight to losing body fat. Don't let the scale be your only barometer for success. It is just as (if not more) important to get your body fat checked by a fitness professional or gym staff member every 6-12 weeks.

  • This is because if you are just using the scale and lose weight you may think you are doing great when in reality you may be losing lean muscle mass instead of body fat. When you lose lean muscle mass, your body fat increases.

  • To gain muscle and lose fat, you must first increase the intensity/duration of your cardio workouts and your weight training by increasing the amount of weight to add more muscle mass. Keep things fresh by doing one intense, high-repetition, whole-body workout with no rest between sets per week to increase the fat utilizing capability of your body. Intense training increases the amount of mitochondria in fast-twitch muscle fibers.

  • If I need to consume 2000 calories a day to maintain my current bodyweight, does that mean if I consume 2000 calories, continue to work out whilst doing 30 mins cardio, that I will lose fat but not muscle?

  • @Putdatcookiedown no, you will lose fat and muscle

  • eating fried chicken and pizza for building muscle? sounds horrible to me

  • Hey guys..I have a question,,Im in the gym and have knowledge what to do as far as my workouts and diet but as far as my son..hes 16 ,about 5'10. 125-130.and hyper as shit.lol.i mean he has a high metabolism and wants to of course build muscle ...should he be taking anything, I mean a supplement? And should he stay away from cardio? .any advice would help thanks!Keep up the good wrk..looking good...n the videos r great!lol,,informative and funny as heck..:)

  • this is so silly. it is just their opinion. provide scientific data that says you can only build muscle by eating more calories...

  • @mjb9982 to build muscle u need to... and plus watch their other videos... then we will see if u are going to make that assumption..

  • @tjobtjobtjob it sounds like a bunch of bro science to me. i dont bulk and cut, i even do cardio just about every day. i have gotten stronger and bigger over the past couple years.

  • I'm fairly new at this body tranformation business, only 7 months into it. But i can easily take in more calories than i need and eat clean. Once i started adding protien shakes to the mix and drinking a few meals a day, i could eat completely clean and add weight. and strenght.

  • LUI Marco Wouldnt agree with you fellaas LOL!!!

Q: What about when you cutting what do you need to do not to lose that muscle lets say like you said 60lb and out of that 20lb is muscle, you start cutting you lose 30lb but you also lost 15lb of muscle is that posible !!! Thx

  • I've been "working out" for as long as I can remember but all I did was machines at the gym, arm curls, or p90x so I didn't make any amazing changes. Just 2 months ago I started doing some real exercises (barbell squats, shrugs, dips, a lot of stuff with free weights) and ate really clean. My weight is still the same but I am a lot more defined and have bigger arms. I've gained some muscle and burned a bunch of fat so I'm going to milk it for a few more months.. but I'm still only 183 at 6"3..

  • Its possible with Roids tho

  • I respect you guys, and believe almost everything u say, but on this one i gotta disagree!, I mean i belive that if ur say 30% bf, then u shuld cut down to 10% then, start building your muscle from there.

  • @dablackpimp well it depends do u wanna look decent right now or look great later it will be more effective for a fat person to get in the gym and TRY TO GAIN MUSCLE not loose weight there gonna loose fat anyway as they add muscle someone thats say 20 years old 30% bf if they start going to the gym and eat shitloads of protein there gonna build a ton of muscle and alot of strength and they will begin to look leaner and more muscular even tho there not "cutting"

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99 yeh but they will have that layer of fat over their muscles, which wuldnt look very good. and even if you bulk first, after u will have to cut the excess fat which is a BITCH and like the hodgetwins say, u will also loose some of that hard earned muscle aswell. I wuld say get down to atleast 15% bf before u bulk otherwise wen u bulk u will gain muscle + fat (unless ur diet is 100% perfect), which is just extra fat on ur body. but both approaches are great ways to get bigger!

  • @dablackpimp i'm pretty sure that if ur really fat u dont need to eat a bunch of carbs for bulking u can be at a calorie defecit and ur body will start using that excess fat as energy while still being able to build some muscle cus at the end of the day being small and skinny does not look very good either theres actually a fat kid at my gym maybe only 15 years old he has lost alot of that fat but his lifts still seem to be going up and he is stronger then most adults when they get started

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99 btw poor choice of words i dident mean to eat dirty and bulk up like a skinny guy would i meant dont cut try to build muscle ur metabolism will go up the extra muscle will require more calories etc and all this will stack up and cause u to loose a good amount of fat while still getting stronger like the guy i mentioned

  • LOL Great vid, great tips, great humour!

  • tooo funny!

  • AHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHHAAAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHHHAAHHAHAHAAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAHAHHA

  • is it alright to eat at night then??

  • @WillyNelson402 "thou shalt not eat at night" sounds like a myth or broscience IMO.For some reason the powers that be in the nutrition n fitness industry try to make things seem as complicated as possible when its all based on the simple formula calories in calories out n over a LONG TERM.

  • @kriegpaolo

Its actually not a myth at all. If you eat at night then go to sleep then your body wont have the time to use the calorie excess (calorie out as you put it) and it may result you miscalculate your calorie exchange. That said it wont matter alot if you dont eat too much over maintenance and be very precise with your calculation but honestly who does that?

  • @Doxi99 dude, when you sleep your body's metabolic system still works. Heck your body even still burns calories (ofc not as much as if u exercise, duh). You body burns calories 24/7. So yes, the calorie excess is still used by the body. It doesnt just instantly go to waste and turn into nothing.

  • @kriegpaolo

Ofc the calories excess wont turn into nothing but since you dont use the energy as much when you sleep it will store as fat. Thats right your body loves fat. Especially if you eat fast digested food like fast carb. Im not saying it has any greater significance for people who work out and be consistent with their caloric intake just that its not a myth but a simple thermodynamical equation

  • @Doxi99 Yes simple thermodynamical, but it doesnt mean the calories wont ever get used.Even if u eat extra carbs at night it doesnt mean ALL of them are going to be fat.Honestly.Point u made was that the extra calories suddenly just dont get burned at all n instantly turned into fat.U conveniently ignored the fact that calories are burned 24/7 in our system. So what, u sleep 7-8 hours? The body is still actively burning calories in that period.U seem like u've been reading forums too much

  • @Doxi99 Besides calorie excess can happen any time of the day.U eat too much during the day n eat nothing at night, guess what you can still gain fat.Eat too much calories any time of the day n u will get fat.Whether it happens at night or morning is irrelevant.Slight caloric surplus combined with right training will be used to build muscle. The rest always becomes fat.Why dont u try it.Eat burgers n donuts n fries 10 servings during day, eat nothing during night.See if u dont get fat.

  • @kriegpaolo

You're right about that. What I really mean was it's easier to get caloric surplus if you eat fast digested food at night since your body wont use that much energy to other things like moving yourself etc.. Ofcource if you eat more than your body burn you'll get fat no matter what time of the day you do.

  • i burnt fat and built muscle at the same time over a year

  • lol that laugh at the end was hilarious

  • lol majority of the time i agree 100% with what yall say. The only thing I would disagree on from you guys is Cardio nd this one right here. Hey i Respect yall and I'm going to respectfully disagree. the reason why is because My body is showing results of both I've been following your weight routine Monday-Legs, Wednesday Chest, Shoulders, Tris, and Friday Back and Bis, doing 30mins of cardio in the morning, and eating clean then cut my carbs after 6 the results are going great so far :D

  • I bulk during the winter, & start cutting right before summer!! Been working out great for me.
