  • Sorry but are y'all gay?

  • This is so true for my experience. I live in the US and when I go to Germany I am always so impressed by the great efforts everyone makes to recycle.

  • enjoy != entertain, false friend :)

  • Hmm, I though in California you also get money back for plastikbottles and cans...at least we was collecting them and got money for it. In California..CANS AND Plasticbottles...you pay a fee when you buy and you get the money back, when you bring it back to the special places usually infront of a grocerystore..

  • I'm livin in a very multi cultural aparment building and somehow I just don't get why so many of the families put their paper waste into a plastic bag and throw this into the bin. completely senseless. so simply living in germany doens't make you a recycling champion :D

  • germany is cleaner than america... we recycle everything even food any food we dont eat we put in a type of big box and let the worms insects eat it so suck on that america fact america is the stupidest and fattest country in the world haha

  • da fehlt der BIOMÜLL :D

  • You filled up your garage with cans and only got $13? I didn't have that much cans but I got like $40-$50 <_<

  • Yeah I've never seen recycling enforced. It's strongly encouraged but that's about it.

  • Recycling in the US is getting bigger every time.I don't think we're going to end up sorting our trash like you do in Germany but we have recycling bins for paper and batteries in public places and recycling gets promoted in schools a lot.

  • We recycle a SHIT load in America.

  • We have bottle/cans deposit in Norway too, it's called "Pant", pronouced almost like Pfand

  • i always recycle, and im an american.

  • Recycling is encouraged where I live (Washington state USA) but it's not enforced. I personally recycle.

  • America is one of the countries that recycle the most. Check it up on this site. We are number 7 thought Germans are number 3. We still made it to this list out of hundreds of other countries. go to aneki.com then click on natural world then click on countries with the highest recycling rates. And American is number 7.

  • Yeah, I don't recycle. It's not really enforced in Illinois.

  • Of course we recycle here in the US, a few blocks away from our house there is a huge recycling center where you can bring anything from glass bottles to broken up concrete to recycle.

  • I loved the end too!

  • At around 1:30 it's hilarious!

  • @ skepsisdub need to shut up

  • Germany is not perfect either and i think both countries could learn much from each other... for example could German cooks learn how to make american spareribs, i love them <3 .... but you really won't get good ribs with barbecue sauce here in Germany!!!!!!!

  • Recycling shouldn't be something you get paid for really, i wish aliens would like come here and be like keep your planet alive and clean or we will wipe out your whole species...BITCHES! I have a good idea, Just before you buy something try to find something that doesn't use plastic. The plastic age has made us all into pigs. USA USA USA USA!!!

  • hey u guys r sum fags u to get each other in the butt usa #1 u fags

  • is alex actually color blind?

  • america needs to be more like germany

  • I'm American And USA is Not better then Germany that fool who says USA is better he/ she must dreaming we have problems that need to be fix

  • In this was i am very pride to be a Swiss, because we are champion in recycling. we recycle ca 55% of the waste, Germans only ca 24% of the waste and the whole USA only 10%. My mother is Italian so we went to her friends in south Italy to do holidays. I was shocked when I saw that they put the glass, plastic, pet and everything in the garbage can! That looked out so weird!

  • Im from Canada living in Texas currently, and there is a deposit on all Cans, bottles and plastics

  • @ow8453df nö

  • i think it depends on each state. i live in california and we enforce recycling very well. but i have been to Germany and, although i think california does a really good job, i think Germans have it down to a science :)

  • I think recycling differs in each state of the US.

  • Germany is so efficient - I love them!

  • We recycle like that too. What is he talking about, California anyways

  • @maryuriwood07 true that :)

  • I gave up recycling. My city management let the "garbage" men have pick-up day off, so it wasn't collected for a week. Then they left me a note saying my recycling boxes were too full. That's when I decided recycling wasn't worth the hassle (not for me personally at least) even though it's "mandatory". And besides, you waste a lot of water rinsing everything anyway.

  • there is separation by colour - you separate glass, and there is not something like "packaging", there is plastic, paper and metal

  • Great video, I'm with Jim all the way on this one

  • Biomüll kommt in die Grüne, Papier in die Blaue Tonne, Plastik kommt in den gelben Sack und der Rest... ich glaube, es sind meistens graue/schwarze Tonnen^^

  • We have sorting facilities in my area of PA. One brown bin for non-recyclable, blue for everything recyclable which is sorted at a facility so we don't have to and green for compost waste like plants and grass. It really depends on your townships policy here.

  • ahh ihr habt den kompost vergessen! :D

  • lol @ 3:26 germans are very econo...econo...ehhh...environmentally friendly

  • Jim: When I stayed with Alex's family, like, we wouldn't eat dinner until we went and frolicked around the city and helped recycle.

Hahahaha! The image of these guys "frolicking" around town recycling is hilarious.

  • The deposit for cans and bottles vary by state. I live in Oregon and the deposit for soda cans/bottles is 5 cents.

  • Wo ist Papier?! xDDD

  • Recycling here is mandatory as far as garbage men coming to take it, we don't have a can deposit, in Washington state, but there is one in Oregon, and you have to pay it when you buy soda, and get it back when you turn in your cans.

  • smug people ;) viva la south park

  • I think recycling is so annoying! you can take anything apart...i mean sometimes i dont know if i should put something in the paper or plastic can.... so I really enjoyed just throwing everything together when i was in the US . Another thing is the deposit I hate that you have to always take the cans and bottles back especially cans I love squeezing them xD

  • damm true. my mom is always pissed when i destroy them xD

  • omg i lov tht "yr a bad german" XD

  • every state I've lived in recycles and we have color coded containers - for glass, plastic, paper- that are distributed and picked up by the city. It sounds like the Germans get into it a little more though.

  • @4lfclover66 Biased sample. Recycling varies from state to state and is usually voluntary.

  • The information in this episode is false. In most states in the US, recycling is enforced and there's deposit for cans as well

  • @leonardnyc12 Listen what Jim says at 3:36.

  • Watch the flag, look at the flag, touch the flag, but...don't worry about throwing crap out the window.

  • In Michigan cans and bottle's are worth 10 cents each.

  • think how much better the world would be if all of america recycled like germany! our environment would not be shot like it is

  • who gave this comment a thumbs down??

  • It´s closed on sunday, dude...

  • i live in america and my school, my home, our mall, everywhere recycles.

at my house we recycle paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, and aluminum

  • @xPeegexaahh

    In austria this is standard

  • Comment removed

  • @xPeegexaahh @xPeegexaahh Well Jim is from Mississippi, and in the Deep South it is extremely rare to see anything to do with recycling. I live in southern Louisiana, and actually in my city you can't recycle. Like, there are no recycling programs. I have never met a person or seen a business recycle in Louisiana.

  • @marcosity911 i live in Minnesota and up in the midwest recycling is enforced and we recycle everywhere. Up here it is almost frowned upon to throw away a plastic bottle or aluminum can.

  • Its like that in canada to with germany

we have gigantic bins at school for like everything one for paper, glass, and just garbage

yeah everything has a deposit here too cans are like 5 cents and glass is 15 plasic 15 or 10 i mean it says litterally on the bottle or can never new the states didnt have that and i go there so much too haha
