  • You do a wonderful job it seems.

I know each office and doctor varies as far as prices but what is your median price for this procedure?

    Thank you

  • @cheekz8706 Thanks. Our fee for a full tummy tuck is $6500. All of our fees can be found on my website yorkyates(.)com

  • Very interesting and informative video. Thanks for your professionalism and for posting. I'm sure she was satisfied with the procedure.

  • Thumbs up if there wup, I didn't but just wondering...

  • You Mr. Surgeon, you are one sick bastard. I bet you probably thought of taking those fat flaps home as a trophee didn't you?

  • 17 people took an arrow to the knee>>>

  • God , Why every time I eat Fast food i have to see this

  • god I want to be a plastic surgeon

  • Does it hurt!?

  • I love the thing from 3: 10 where he was cutting away at the stomach. lol "heres my hand" 4:45

  • I love the thing from 3: 10 where he was cutting away at the stomach

  • how much this procedure cost ??

  • How much Propofol did you have to use for sedation? I know Michael Jackson had huge amounts of it which killed him.

  • @Goldenrod636 We use only board certified plastic surgeons who administer the appropriate amount for each patient. The amount varies depending on effect.

  • outch!!!

  • I will do my tummy tuck on December 26 and really scary about it. I have worse belly to this lady and also they will do it liposuction on the sides. Im so exciting to see my results and after lost pretty much 40 pounds and a lot inches i cant handle this anymore .... Thanks for this video , need get prepare for this

  • Radiohead c:

  • I have my TT on Thursday, so now I'll know what to expect!!

  • Is it possible to get a "six pack abs" after that procedure of diastasis correction?

  • @gianki83 "six pack abs" requre hard work with our without surgery. Certainly a little easier after a tummy tuck with the excess removed.

  • Is it possible to get a "six pack abs" after that procedure of diastasis correction?

  • I don't know what's nastier, the fat belly or the horrible scar after the tummy tuck...might as well keep the fat belly, why go through all of that to look like a weirdo anyways...

  • i have a question if your get lipo is it best to get a tummy tuck and cann you get a tummy tuck other than your stomack

  • once you get liposuction is it best to get a tummt tuck lader and is the stomack the only place you can get a tummy tuck

  • Thank you for allowing us to see this procedure. You are certainly confident and very skilled.

I have my tuck arranged for Nov 23. I have to have lipo to my sides/love-handles. I'm concerned about the pain immediately afterwards and how long before it subsides. Can you advise?

    Thank you.

  • @munkeyspunkmoped The pain is quite variable. It depends on technique used and pain tolerance. For most of my patients, I would expect them to be completely off narcotic pain meds by 2-5 days for something like this.

  • Ouch! i was thinking of getting this done.. but nvm. this changed my mind!

  • @meg0kay Good for you, nothing beats the traditional method of healthy eating and excerise.

  • @meg0kay Good for you. Nothing beats the traditional methods of healthy eating and excercise.

  • thank you for sharing this video.

  • Does the pen the surgeon uses have to be sterilised and how?

  • have a question how would it work with a person that had the lap band done? also how much do you loose just from the fat and skin taken off?

  • @mrschapman69 This is a common procedure after surgical weight loss procedures. The weight of the tissue removed is often less than it appears, usually around 3-10 lbs.

  • @Dryates1 how long does this procedure last? I'm having one done in Feb 2012 and i'm dreading the recovery period, but i'm hoping it'll be worth it in the long run.

  • Fuck me that was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen and I have seen some grim shit.

  • can't believe people would want to undergo such a procedure...

  • Is Michael bubble really singing in the back ground?!?

  • HOW MANY YEARS DID IT TAKE TO BECOME A PLASTIC SURGEON? PLEASE ANSWER ME

  • @BSANTIAGO8533 After a college degree, 10 years. Four years medical school. Six years plastic surgery residency.

  • HOW MANY YEARS DID IT TAKE TO BECOME A PLASTIC SURGEON?

  • uh eww

  • Damn wax much....,

  • why.. i mean i would much rather do exercise than this

    1. its not near as painfull

    2. i would feel better about myself

    3. all the money just to lose a bit of fat that you can lose in a month

  • @soxamillion This isn't painful. You are under heavy sedation during the whole thing. Unless you were under a strict diet and exercise routine, it would take more than a month to lose that weight.

I do agree that it is a waste of money though.

  • looks like a good job, starting med school next october, cant wait!!!

  • @darrylportelli good luck

  • @Dryates1 thanks!!!

  • why do you use sedation all the time? cheaper?... also with the muscle tightening, what if she got hit in the stomach? would the stitches inside break? wut happens if they do? whats the point of muscle tightening anyway?

  • @marineboy090 I prefer sedation for a number of reasons. Primarily safety and patient experience. An added benefit is cost. Not every patient is a candidate for a full tummy tuck without general anesthetic

  • @Dryates1 So you guys don't cut the sagging muscle?

My friend lost around 155 pounds and he did this tummy tuck operation, his doctor told him you don't need to tighten up your abdominal muscle because it's already tight. However, after couple of days from the operation there is like a bulge in the lower abdominal and little bit there is a loose skin, what do you think the reason is. He lost his weight in 3 years by vigorous exercising and I can see how's doing abdominal exercises easily

  • @Red2001Rum The muscle is tightened but not cut. After weight loss, the muscle can often benefit from tightening to create a flatter abdomen.

I couldn't beging to guess at the cause of his bulge in the lower abdomen without seeing it in person.

  • @Dryates1 seeing him in person is almost impossible, because we're from saudi arabia :).

Anyway, I know it's hard to tell without seeing the problem and feel it but it's worth to ask.

Just one last question, since he didn't tight up his muscle, when he can start exercising normally?

  • @marineboy090 The muscle repair brings the separated muscles after pregnancy back together. This flattens the belly. After about 6 weeks the scar tissue is strong enough that the sutures aren't doing much.

  • this was so hard to watch !

  • this is the coolest thing on youtube.

  • this is what working out doesn't fix. god bless these doctors.

  • I just had mine done 3 days ago.... Today is the first day that I feel soooo much better..

And I didn't even need pain meds... Had 10 IBS of fat removed... Ugh!! Lol.. The key to healing quick is drinking lots of water and walking every few hours....

  • i'm having one in a few months. I'm thinking of changing my mind after seeing this. The recovery is what i'm dreading the most, but maybe in the long run it'll be well worth it

  • im 15 and im not that disgusted :D

  • OMG that is crazy....I hear some Michael Buble in the background =D

  • My suregery is on August 2nd. I am concerned about the pain medication prescibed due to all the negative publicity. It is Oxycontin q12 hrs. What do u usually use. Any recommendation in regards to OTC for helping with scaring?

  • @amazinggracecarehome I standardly use Percocet. Too much abuse with Oxycontin. I standardly use Mederma on the scar. I would recommend that you discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

  • it looks so fake but i know its real im soooooo fucking gross out i dont want to do it now..... holy fucking shit.....i want to touch it....

  • OMG Abdominoplasty under sedation.....NO THANK YOU

  • Well I cannot believe I am saying this, but lipid removal appears to be more dramatic than organ removal. Since we use breathing tubes we don't need the big needles and since we do it through trocars, we seem to have less gore. Allrighty then!!!

  • oh my good god dyrates how bad did the recovery hurt like seriously because im gonna get one iv lost 80 lbs this makes me feel so scared and not wanna do it HOLY SHIT looks painful, was it at least managable after or is really horrifying and unimaginable pain? please :(

  • @SELVESTER420 The pain during recovery is quite variable. In my experience with my patients, pain pills are necessary for 2-6 days. It is much less painful than it looks.

  • AW HELL NAW

  • And I love how she's just snoring through all of this.. xD

  • Her tummy looks so bouncy o.o

  • HOLY $H1T! I feel sick! But I know I need one! I shouldn't of watched!

  • I'm confused... After the fascia was sewn together up the middle, does it heal together that way (up/down the middle) or is that just for formation until healing is complete? In other words, does the fascia heal back to the fatty tissue of the skin only...while the sewn-together-portion of the fascia is not actually healing together?

  • Although, no full well that I would experience ALL the pain the recovery could possibly produce, I would still like to have the tummy tuck. I had a tubaligation and that damn near killed me.... The post op pain that is... I just want to get rid of my tummy. Mine is about as big as the one in this video give or take an inch or two. I just really wanna get rid of it. It depresses the crap outta me. Anyone in Chicago??

  • omg i feel sick :O

  • this is a good chirurg

  • Is it just me or someone texting on an iPhone in the background of this video???

  • I wonder if she came back and watched this video >.>

  • This is like so awkward to watch lol!!

  • amazing video. Im going in for major tummy tuck in 10 days time. It has not put me off. I have lost 13 stone in weight and have a lot of excess skin. The pain will be worth it, however bad. I am hoping to regain my body confidence after all my hard work.

  • wow this is so weird to watch

  • All that yellow fat, can feed a small town for a week.

But good for her, that she got that done :)

  • Im so sorry you had so much pain I also had a tummy tuck and yes it hurts like hell but Im very glad I did it i also had a breast lift and lipo at the same time it took me about 3 weeks before it could even sleep laying down !!

  • Im supposed to get this done im not so sure i want to now think id rtaher keep my scar

  • =( I desperately want a tummy tuck. I've had 2 children and I want another one in a few years, but I dont want to get a tummy tuck if the skins just going to stretched out and give me stretch marks again =/

  • i cant take itttttttttt!!!!!!!!!! omg

  • far out...all that flab looks gross.

  • so thats what flab looks like...yellow...

  • Have you ever done a panneculectomy on a 400 lb man that has some of his intestines spilling into his class 3 pannis. The docs say I need it done but because there's no hernia pain they are taking their time...maybe they feel it's too dangerous?

  • I have had 2 c-sections and a hysterectomy the pain is bearable but it's very painful, the first couple of weeks you walk hunched over. It does get better, I'm having my Tummy Tuck in 5 days and can hardly wait, I have not forgotten how painful those surgeries are but for me it will be worth it to get rid of the loose skin.

  • @FreakMagnet66 Please let me know how you're doing after your surgery. I hope everything goes well. No offense girl...you are NUTS!

  • i had an abdominoplasty 2 days ago.

  • so...do you get used to seeing all the insides? >_> Because I don't know if I can handle being a surgeon, but it's still something I want to do.

  • @SelenaGuillen You definitely get used to it. I still get that chill up the back of my neck when I see someone fall and hurt themselves but surgery if definitely different. Don't let that fear be a reason not to pursue your dreams. Best of luck!

  • i loove the music in the back ground GREAT JOB!

  • IMAGINE IF SHE WERE AWAKE :O

  • I had a tummy tuck in March last year. Trust me. The pain is like surviving a murder. It's not a walk in the park. I spent $12,050 total on surgery and Jesus, in the end, the money isn't the problem, it's the pain attacks. not panic attack, PAIN attacks. I've had a child via c-section, it felt like a walk in the park compared to this. You have NO IDEA how painful the recovery is. It's.... indescribably horrendous. If I had known how painful it would be I never EVER would have done it.

  • @batmanbeer Every surgeon, surgery and patient are different. I am sorry to hear that you had such a tough time with yours. What it just a tummy tuck or was there more? It is important to realize that there is certainly pain and recovery necessary. It sounds like your experience was quite unusual for what I see in my practice.

  • @Dryates1 I had a breast lift and lipo suction as well as a tummy tuck , and they stitched my abdominal muscles together (split during the c section) in one procedure. However, the breast lift I did not find painful and the liposuction wasn't much of a bother either. This being said I will never forget the horror of a tummy tuck. I paid 4 thousand dollars extra for 2 nights in a private hospital room and the nurse attendance was appalling. Nearly traumatizing.

  • @batmanbeer That sounds miserable. Much worse than the worst experience I have personally ever seen.

  • @batmanbeer I've had the surgery done last week. They haven't tightened my muscles because i've been body building for 3 years.7 day passed, solid sneezes cause a little pain and stitches' overheating problem when i don't keep them cold enough.

Doc said muscle tightening is the real pain not stitches

I'm sorry to hear that it was so painful for you :(

  • After this tummy tuck procedure I want to know if the scar from it goes away or fades almost to where you really don't see it and how long does it take? If I was to do this procedure I wouldn't want the scar to linger the way that it shows on most of these women. If not, is there a surgery that can cover or take away the scarring?

  • @THenry1977 Scarring is the big trade-off with this surgery. No surgeon can guarantee perfect scars, there are just too many variables, most of which are not under your surgeons control. Some people heal with great scars and some do not. Look at any other surgical scars that you may have to get an idea of what your own scarring type is.

  • 10 ppl need a tummy tuck...

  • i wonder if it hurts after the procedure. how long is the recovery? i guess this lady feel better with her new tummy.

  • i wonder if it hurts after the procedure. how long is the recovery?

  • after watching this i would rather workout and exercise.

  • @leelulove24 I'm certain your judgemental and arrogant attitude is getting you nowhere in your life, I'm sorry you're insecure. Especially considering you don't know what you're talking about but you're spewing rude comments. Muscle separation and skin stretching from pregnancy CANNOT BE FIXED without surgery. Before you pretend to have a brain in front of others and to put others down so you can feel better about yourself, just keep your mouth closed instead.

  • @leelulove24 lol

  • @leelulove24 But some os us really need to it. If u need to exercise then urs can't be that bad as myself and some other people. I had it done 6 weeks again and i am very happy with everything and would not of change it. I am so happy now. I used to execise for 3 hours a day and i could not get rid of it at all.

  • @leelulove24 haha bad spelling. I'm very sleeping lol!

  • Wow its like u were about to cut her body in half...

  • Excellent surgery. It was like 50lbs of flat. I'm sure this lady feels so much better now,but of course after healing process. I meant fat.

  • Excellent surgery. It was like 50lbs of flat. I'm sure this lady feels so much better now,but of course after healing process.

  • sumbdy needs to shave tha cat lol

  • Damn he works so fast.. still makes my stomach sick.. not sure if I can go through with this.

  • Im a 45 M from CT. Lose 80lbs. I need a Abdominoplasty. Where in CT can i go. Do you Know a DR in CT

  • ewwwwwwwwww

  • Excellent! And your voice is so soothing. Love the way you and your nurse worked together.

  • Watching it: Alright.

Doing it: With the education and experience, sure, I'd love to.

Having it done to myself: I'll pass, thanks.

    Is that weird?

  • i get one in 5 days time. now im scared. i did have breast surgery a couple of months ago and i love that!

  • how much do you charge for that?O.o

  • @EdwardsLamb94 Our current fee for this is $6200

  • barf!! barf!!! barf!!!!!!!!! barf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This guy is good! Where can I find him?

  • Her tummy is a dream to me. I have four butts after five births. I'm thinkin about having it but this video freaks me out.

  • why do you have music in the back ground? its very disturbing

  • @christinasketo Well, it's prolly a long operation. Music prolly keeps it from getting boring. Like painting with mood music or something. (I'm totally guessing, I'm not even a med student. Just giving my two cents.)

  • Wow, what an excellent job! Wish you were in my state as I would choose your for my doctor. Nice video. Would love to see her a few months post op.

  • is she awake??

P.S. this is soooo amazing, its like art!!:)

  • my mum got that done thursday :O

  • I am a highscool student interested in the your area of expertise. I am still in 9th grade and would like to hear the classes you would recommend i take.

  • @ayo2396 Good for you. You have a tough road ahead, 14 years minimum after high school. I would recommend you don't focus on plastic surgery too quickly. Leave the door open by excelling in every class you take. It is easier to get into medical school as a English major than a Chemistry or Biology major. They are looking for well rounded, interesting, smart individuals. Best of luck to you.

  • O.O

  • Great video! thanks for sharing now i know exactly what to expect!

  • Wooops, cut the wrong bit off...

  • the fats under the skin isn't cut off?!

  • WOW Dr. Yates, you are a wizard! Thank you so much for the video - I've been contemplating an abdominoplasty for a while now... your video was GREAT! Thank you thank you!

  • I want one soo bad.... i need a mommy makeover....

  • This is one of the better videos on Abdominoplasty I have seen. I am currently a Surgical Tech Student just about to finish school, and to be honest this surgery was clean and beautiful. I'm sure she was very happy with her results.

I wanted to ask? What Suture was used in reconnecting the muscles? And what suture was used in the skin closing? Also did you use a JP Drain?I will use this video in class along with my presentation. Thank you!!!!

  • @BeautieLover Muscle diastasis suture was 0 Etibond Excell. Skin repair 2-0, 3-0, and 4-0 vicryl. 2 JP drains were used.

  • gotta love how the belly button just... ewww

  • wow. this is pretty amazing!

  • ew

  • omg....this is so painful just to watch...i can't stop cringing..

  • OMG wanted to get this done for like 10 years now! BUT ARGH im scared as!!! Dont know if i want to anymore! so even being put under you need more numbing? or you'd still feel it? OMG

  • this was a very clean surgery, cleanest I've ever seen.

  • Im thinking of doing it because my weight was 434.31 lbs and my hight is 179 ..now my weight is 224.87 lbs after alot of cardio excercises and body building..

but the question is: WILL I LOSE THE MUSCLES I BUILT??

  • Omg I can't believe my moms about to get this!!!!! :0

  • i can't take that.it's too much

  • im just surprised at the lack of blood!

  • how bad is the pain after

  • @laurajayne6 The pain is quite variable. For example of the two tummy tucks we did last week one was a 2/10 the next day on ibuprophen. The other was a 7/10 still on narcotics. The same procedure was done for both.

  • scary as hell!

  • I love how you start to hear some Michael Bublé around 6:00. lol. nice.

  • ok im having this done and i seriously cant bear to watch this video! i tried to skip to less cringey stuff, but no. *shudders* i WILL HAVE THIS! :S

  • it looks like jelly on the inside and pastry dough stuff on the outside lol

  • As informative as this was, I could not help to close my eyes when the extra skin was being cut off. But i found it very helpful. Thanks.

  • ficou lindo..parabéns

  • a listra da parte de baixo ficou desarmosiosa...o cirurgião marcou errada.

  • I'm so glad I got it done, did my due diligence at plasticsurgerymadeeasy (.) com

  • I just had this done two weeks ago and to watch just made me cringe...but I still watched it.

  • 5:08 ewwww looks like macaroni and cheese lol

  • I think he is very profesional by the way he does his work, very secure and not all doctor's thing about the very low scars since they are not good at the time you wear jeans after procedure......

  • I watched this video the night before my own tummy tuck (12/9/10)!! it was gross but very informative!!

  • 3:42 sounds like an iphone text sound.. someone left their phone on! :O

  • that's gonna feel sore in the morning

  • I am serioiusly lightheaded. I am passing out.

  • I wanted one but that's put me right off, gross. It looked like she was getting cut in half

  • permanet stitch ew.

  • I dont know who could do this surgery.

  • @goodlookin41

    patients with dramatic weight loss.

  • Holy f**k. . . (throws up, wipes mouth). this is why i took law and not med.

  • i cant believe this surgeon has music playing during this procedure in the operating room

  • @rachelsmith301 actually, a lot of surgeons play all kinds of music during every case. Theyre so casual about it. haha

  • Im speechless!!! they are literally ripping out her skin ....

  • do doctors have to get used to this or do you have to be born made of steel

  • for the people that dont kno you cannot shave before surgery.....duhhhhhh... you will get an infection

  • @jjshere123109 not true. in order to make the incision, there can't be any hair in the wound, it becomes messy and infected. All procedures Ive been in where the patient has hair on the incision, are pre-operatively shaved.

  • basically i estimate.....

  • I can't imagine anyone wanting a tummy tuck after seeing this

  • Dr Yates is the man!
