@WARNER595 R u serious. First off I wasnt getting smart with you, I was just letting you know about what I meant about the term "natural" . Second, DONT ever come at me like that.
@WARNER595 When I said natural I do not mean Im "100 Natural". I mean my natural hair, "My REAL Hair. FYI I was natural before I applied the softener.
@KaYTaRtSz2 Actually yes it is. My curl pattern was the same before I put in the texture softener. A texture softener does not magically give you a curl pattern. It is a product that softens your existing curl pattern to help you manage your hair better.
@mistikalnawe Sorry I didnt make one. But u can check out the video How To Define Your Curls. Its similar to this video and I showed the final look. :)
Honestly, ladies-we have to do our own RESEARCH. Don't listen to other women on Youtube, because they might have different PERSPECTIVES on their hair than you. Listen, but formulate your own opinion. EDUCATE yourself about your OWN hair and the effects of products on them. At the end of the day, this product is a mild RELAXER. This lady's hair is beautiful, but she defines "natural" hair differently from others. So don't create drama, its not your hair.
great video. Im not sure if anyone pointed this out but that section that you said curls more is the last section you put the relaxer in. So it had the least amout of processing time thus not straightening as much as the rest. Anyway :) ur curls are really pretty. and like others did say, ignore the neg people. You do what makes u happy. it looks good on ya :)
Smh these mfs kill me.. I'm natural but I'm not extreme like these damn cunts... They kill me thinking you're the devil because you used something to HELP YOU with YOUR hair. If ya'll don't like it, shit, don't do it. =\ Wtf is really the issue? Is she really effecting you? STFU.
@icyunvme0912 Girl, fuck them. Clearly what you are doing is working for you. The whole point of the situation is HEALTHY HAIR. I know plenty of people who maintain healthy hair via relaxers and texturizers. Just because YOUR hair fell out when you added this and that product doesn't mean everybody else's will. Also.. Most of the "naturals" have PERMANENT hair color... which if you want to get technical means they arent natural anymore either.. I'm one of the colored "naturals" and i'm lovin it!
I think your hair is really nice! The natural hair police need to man down! I've seen some real jacked up natural hair gurus on the YT which made me realize that it's about hair care and not hair texture!
hey please answer this question im really curious, i want to ge this but does it do like a perm and u have to keep getting in? and does it make your ends straight? i want it to make my natural curls softer and prettier but i dont it it straight or to look like i have a perm when half of its nappy and half of its straight once a perm grows out.
@kaniqua15 I believe it will curl your ends depending on how much relaxer you have left in your hair. It made my hair curly from the root to the ends because I really dont have anymore relaxer in my hair. :)
Lord these women make it so complicated when it comes to defining everything! Anyway I just want to know how long does it last? It eventally washes out? or does it stay that way and have to keep reapplying it ever so often?
Hi , Im 13 and mixed race - my dad's grenadian and my mums english , I have EXTREMELY thick afro hair ! Basically i would like my hair to be easier to maintain and for my hair to 'hang down' and to be more loose ( like the girls on the texture softener boxes) I have never straightened( iron) my hair or put any chemicals or realxers in it ! My hair is Natural ! I dont like straight hair and i am not to fond on relaxers but is this just for me hair softerner LOOSEN hair and is it mild/safe!
@Karategirlpro333 The softener may loosen your the texture of your hair to the way you want it. FYI, it does contain a chemical that is found in regular relaxers (calcium hydroxide). If you are looking to be completely natural, this product may not be for you. The softener is very mild though. :)
@strawberry6549 Any product can be damaging but if you take care of your hair it won't. I never experienced damage while using this product. Use a good moisturizing shampoo & conditioner to tackle your dryness. Always moisturize your hair from the root to the tips with oils and good moisturizing lotion. I dont know if you know this but the softener contains a chemical that you can find in a relaxer. If you are looking to be completely natural (no chemicals), I wouldn't suggest this product :)
I think your hair looks good on YOU. I seriously don't get what the big deal is with everyone complaining about it not being 100% natural. Everyone wears their hair differently so who is anyone to judge the next person? Different strokes for different folks. It's yours so you can do what you please. Barely ANYONE is so called "100% natural." Look how many people color their hair. That's a chemical too; are they any LESS natural? Look, if it's growing out your scalp it's your natural hair.
U guys calm down! She still has a curl pattern, so technically she is natural. Also a lot of "naturals" color their hair. So technically, the naturals that put color in their hair, are still putting a chemical in it, but you guys are still saying they're natural.
Who gives a dam if she call it natural or not?its her hair her opinion if you don't like don't watch its not that serious!Great video Girl Im natural but not for long according to the kinky nazis cause im def going to try the softener!Stay beautiful!
@chevelle0508 Thanks for your comment Doll!!! I appreciate it!!! A lot of people have so much to say bout whose natural!! Its ridiculous. I will continue to rock my softener despite what others have to say!!! U stay beautiful as well!!! ;)
@layougirl Well I have not had a relaxer in my hair for a while and this is the way my hair gets. I am not all the way natural because I have a softener in. Also, I come from a family that is mixed so this might be the reason as well.

From my understanding a softener is not the same thing as a texturizer but I could be wrong.
I'm not trying to criticize you, you can do what you want to your hair, but you are incorrect in your understanding of what these chemicals do. The 'softener' is a little milder than a texturizer.. but if it has sodium hydroxide (lye) in it.. it's going to change your curl pattern to make it looser- hence it's 'relaxing' the curls from being as tight. Don't get caught up in terms. Relaxers, Texturizers, Softeners do basically the same thing- just to different degrees.
@unicqueky i honestly think she titled correctly...when people put color or anything else in they hair thats adding chemicals to their hair and the still consider it "Natural hair" so i think that people should stop being the natural hair police telling them what they should or should not say when it comes to their hair ..no offense and not trying to be rude im just sayin
@unicqueky That is true - her hair while lovely is chemically altered and should not be referred to as natural (i.e. no chemicals relaxer or texturizer). Her hair is healthy though.
@natrlchallenge It depends. I sometimes go 6- 8 months or 1 year. Its really if I want to wear my hair out and I cant manage it well. I don't do it a lot because Im always wearing a wig or sew-in.
