I'm posting this comment from a Summer 2009 MacBook Pro, and while it's a fine laptop, I'm jonesing to try the Adamo myself. I'm just one of those people who has used Windows in all its flavors for years and never had problems that weren't my own damn fault. Ever.

The Adamo Looks 50Xs better than Any Macbook ever made. The Macbook is just a grey slab with black buttons, but I will say that I would probably buy the Air because you get more for your money. The Adamo looks awesome, but is WAYY overpriced.

This is just marketing. When Apple started their, at the time, revolutionary marketing campaign, PC fanboys bashed them. Now when a straight PC manufacturer starts a new marketing campaign the Mac fanboys bash them. And this is more of a mix between highline-Asus products and Mac.

I agree, i love Apple and i will never buy anything else other than a Mac BUT i actually work in Dell and i think the Adamo when compared to any other PC laptop is in a class of its own. I still wouldnt buy it because i despise windows but if i had to buy and PC laptop, this would be it (on a style basis only). I think its unfair to compare this like for like with Macbook. Apple are industry leaders when it comes to design and nobody would deny that and try to claim their laptops look better.

I actually do not understand why such computers are even available, why not buy a computer that has more power or battery life such as the macbook air or possibly a pro, or a PC. Having 1kg extra in weight isnt going to kill you, it isnt like most people arent able to pick up a 2-3kg laptop.

Umm just a clarification, despite the Dell Adamo being a useless toy for the rich and stupid, it isnt actually thicker than the Macbook Air as you state. The Macbook Air is thinner at the front and thicker at the back, whereas the Adamo maintains its height. Another thing is that, since when is height the winning factor in a laptop? Oh god, this laptop is 3 mm thinner than that one, this is the best laptop in the world!! I hate how everyone is competing for the thinnest laptop.

The majority of the air is thinner than the adamo (about 3/4), so that is why I said that. And yes, I think that ~1" is good however, I would buy an Air as my secondary computer. The thinness competition is stupid...

Hell, I used to think macbook air was shit until this thing came out. For 200 dollars less, you get a lighter, thinner (more or less), faster computer (1.6 ghz with 9400M chip!!!), and bunch of other Apple-only goodies. (Magsafe, OSX etc.)

The texture on the back "BUSY" it's simple. You don't understand what your saying. Busy means doing many things at once. It's very simple.

Also most of the incompatibilities with 64-bit have been fixed with various patches and SP1.

I do agree with you on the WTF were they thinking 1.2/1.4Ghz processors.

Overall your a raging Mac Fanboy seeing a PC that has a design like an Apple.

Hello @Jimminy, it is me, @JHeaney. LOL. Anyhow I guess that "busy" design is in the eye of the beholder. I find the design cluttered with frivolous decals that are not needed. Remember, I said I'd reserve judgement. And 64-bit in Windows has vastly improved (by God, remember XP?) however, it is STILL not as compatible with hardware and software as the 32-bit version, no denying it. As far as fanboys go, I use Windows 7 every day, it is a superb OS and well, Apple needs to step up their own OS.

Several issues and errors with what you had to say.

Macbook Air: .76 in.

Adamo : .65 in.

Reason for the bump in the back, Ethernet port(RJ-45), 3xUSB and the Display.

The issue with the Macbook Air's external removable media drive wasn't completely due to the fact it wasn't included. The main reason was that you only had 1 USB port and it would be filled by having the external drive.

Seriously, 16:9 is bad for text documents try programming having room for side by side analysis is priceless.

The Macbook Air is thinner at its thinnest point and for about 2/3rd's of the body. The thinnest title is a matter of perspective. And I said that 16:9 was an OPINION, I like my 16:10 aspect ratio, that's just me. Some like 4:3, I couldn't care. I agree that the Adamo has the upper hand in the IO however, I still think the bump is ugly. They could have shifted the display back I suppose however, I am no engineer. It could have been a small limitation in structure.

Yes, the Air can reach .13 of an inch but the normal measure of thickness is due to storage space thus you use maximum thickness, thus shifting the monitor back wouldn't allow Adamo the claim of thinnest.

The ethernet port alone is .5 of an inch.

16:9 vs 16:10 very small difference. I also use 16:10 love it.

Pricing is pretty bad however for what your getting.

an RJ45 port is the techy way to say Ethernet. Dell is basically re-branding a lower specced more expensive macbook air with vista. The body design is NOT unibody it is like the old Aluminum Macbook Pro. the Butt is the way obtrusive and very stupid to have the ports on the back because of usability issues. Didn't you call the say that the apple logo went Emo in Pt.1 iMac review? Cant wait for pt2 of the adamo
