You know, joey is a great drummer and all, but in the actual real world, he is kinda lame, he is ALWAYS out of tempo with other songs, always going to fast, he have no groove.

Nothing worse than a drummer trying to keep it by the book and exactly at album tempo. Joey just goes off live, and that is why he still has the job in the band. People don't watch a drummer to make sure he hits everything perfectly. They want to see him feel it and give the performance. And Joey always delivers.

Valid point, to be sure. I still can't agree with Queens of the Stone Age being 'better' than Kyuss though. I will always love Kyuss more, and of course you are entitled to your preference.

It also depends on your taste in music, as I lean towards a slightly heavier sound, Queens eliminates a lot of that punch Kyuss had. Kyuss was about the music. About the time. The feeling. The performances shared with those lucky few. To me, it simply had more meaning behind it all.

Queens is somewhat searching for its sound, in that no album sounds the same (Self-titled and Rated R were similar.) Not to say that's a bad thing, because it always seems fresh that way. I love the experimentation in it. QotSA is about methodically creating it's experience with a lot of effects and unique tones, and opting for much mellower vocals, while Kyuss was stripped down, raw, heavy as shit, rock and fuckin' roll. And of course had it's share of psychedelia (ie.Asterioid). Hahah I'm done
