Hey does anyone know what the difference b/t a danmar click pad and ann evans bass patch is??? i guess danmar cuts through much more but i was wondering how much more.
Yeah at that time i was using evans g2 head and i had the top and bottom tuned really tight and the snares were on. I'm using a tama artwood custom maple 5.5x14
Invest in triggers rather than those shitty metal plates. They snap your beaters after a while (if you actually play like a real drummer and hit your bass drum hard).
good technique on your blast beats and gravity blast. I don't know why your click pads sounded so good. When I got mine they sounded like beating two hammers against each other
I boght a danmar double metal click pad not too long ago and it sounds like a dreamif you want a triggered sound make your bass drum as dead as it can get (THICK quilts, Blankets ETC.) and then apply the danmar double click check out my videos to see what im talkin about
hey i hear that he danmar click pads come off easy i use gibralter clicks and they work pretty good not as clicky as danmar but any ways wanted to know if they are worth the extra bucks
never used the gibralter ones. but the danmar are decent. like i said before i just peeled off the adhesive on the back of the metal and just used duct tape. works pretty good, and you can take it on and off. i never use that thing anymore though, it takes away the feel of the drum.
I blast with my left hand on the hi hat but i cross for other beats. It's just how i learned. and also i use my right hand for cymbals on the right too so it's easier when you do that
ok thanks man that helps a lot. the only idea i had was just buy an extra head and alternate them but that would be too much work so thanks man. keep up the good work bra.
well for live shows and band practice they're nice, and sound amazing live. but not for recording or actually trying to practice. because you dont get a real feel for the drum and you get less recoil from the drum. so for live gigs i highly recommend them, otherwise no.
ok thanks man. are they a bitch to take off and stuff cause i could rele use them for band practice cause my guitarist has no ears so he fuckin blasts his half stack
well what you could do, like i did, is that you can peel the adhesive pad off that back of the click pad, and you can just use duct tape to tape it on. im always taking it on and off my bass drum. i also have a remo double kick patch on my drum for extra durability. and that will do the trick.
yes in all of my videos. but i will have a new one up soon with my new pearl eliminators. yes thats right..eliminators. i like them waay better than axis.
It looks as though its easier to get more bounce/strength off the bounce out of a hard hit off acoustic skins that keeps up a steady blast or gravity blast apposed to electric pads, i find when i switch over to my friends acoustic set from my electric set its harder to get a stable/harder hit, is this a common problem? i want to play BM style blasting and give it a steady feeling.
yeah man, i havent played a whole lot on electric sets. but when i have, i get a lot of rebound and what not. its a little different switching from that to acoustic.
thats hella sick man just one thing i dont really like the sound of your snare i dont know if you just cant hear the snare part from the camera but it sounds like a horrible tom hahah but the bass makes up for it
yeah i dont use that snare anymore. i just couldnt get the right sound out of it. i have it sounding really good with certain heads, but in this video i didnt have a good head on it. the snare is a maple, so its gonna sound more warm. but now i use a pearl piccolo. never going back to anything else, for some time at least.
ya we had a pearl piccolo metal one sounded real nice cuz it was nice and tight but some times when its tight you cant get the snare through it all but it sounded nice good choice and can i ask you one other thing what head for bass are you using im going to buy a new one soon but im torn between the impact2 by aquarian or the emad 2 by evans what do you think
well i use emad. so i would go with that. but ive played on a aquarian before and it was pretty nice. i also use the danmar metal click pad to get it sounding clicky like that.
Also to get a clicky ass sound, Use wood/plastic beaters, but duct tape a sheet of metal from a utility socket. its just a square thing thats like 4inchx4inch. yet another Useless way. but worth a try if you bored.
ehh..its kinda hard to explain. i would just watch some videos on here teaching you how to get the basics down. then you can build your speed from there. just type in 'gravity blast'. supp
u really know what to do , dude ! the music kicks ass , absolutely amazing the teabag album !!!!! i love to listen to it when people listen to also hehe
just use Quarters with plastic beaters, simply, duct tape the quarters to the head of your bass drum, and line them up with the beater, and hit, click away, super clicky. but dont hit redicously hard.
which specific click pads at guitar center do I get and can you give me a tip how to get fast consistent double bass. I tried this one teqnique but it didn't work.
they are called danmar double click pads. umm i kind of do the swivel foot technique, i cant do it nearly as fast as kollias from nile, but it still holds up ok.
what do you mean kinda swivel do you do the nervous/ankle motion with a little swivel I can't seem to do that tecnique without putting my beaters really close to the drum head. How do you get power without having to strain?
i dont know haha. i dont really do it very well. i can just feel my feet start to pivot around when i start to go a little faster. i cant explain shit, i suck at it sorry.
Well don't take this the wrong way but do you not think about what your doing you just play and not worry what tecnique your doing right or wrong. Also I'm sure can explain to me what ring on your fingers your sticks are on for blast beats and I mean the rings you see near the tip of your fingers and near the palm.
"self teach". i dont know terms, i dont know whats right and whats wrong, i hold my sticks on the top ring on my pointer fingers and the rest of the stick just rests in my lower fingers near my palm, i have 3 dogs, one brother, i can suck air in through my asshole and fart. haha
I've tried the nervous tapping tecnique for fast double bass but it dosen't really help, which double bass teqnique do you think is the most effective and quickest to get the hang of?
its called a danmar double metal click pad. i use it instead of using triggers. i dont want to deal with triggers so i use the pad. i think im a lot faster without using that, but i use it for a more punchy sound at shows and shit. i like it. supp

yeah the gibraltar ones are fine for a higher attack level but with less clickyness and yeah your right about it taking away the feel of the drum
mapexplayer25 3 years ago
i use the gibraltar click pad and it works very well. it's not too "clicky" sounding but it still raises the attack level

do you have a mic on that bass? or is that just raw? just like nothing but the kick pads?
