  • I played football in high school and now rugby in college. They are apples and oranges, I hate when people try to compare the two.

  • song name: Tomas Phusion- Keep Going

  • These players are tiny, American Football players are tremendously larger. We may use pads, but we tackle completely different. We lead with the head hard and fast enough that it would kill us with no helmet.

  • @thedylan1820 This is a different form of rugby called 7's. Its basically a game for rugby's version of wide receivers and corner backs.

  • What is this lovely song

  • the guy said "touchdown" hahaha

  • 2:58 was that a rocket? I think it was. Made in China of course.

  • I'm American, and I say that rugby is a more manlier game and it truly is a gentleman's sport. American football is just for fat idiots who tackle other fat idiots.

  • @kingwilliam14 True...in rugby you dont see people wwearing such protective gear like in american football...Right?

  • @MyChris202 Yep.

  • I love watching England vs France XV in the rain and mud, its like going back in time to the Battle of Agincourt where there's nobody to run and cry to.

  • Lol I play football when you actually use your foot.

  • @agentlopez1 The various codes of football are not so called because you use your foot to kick the ball, but because they are all played on foot.

  • USA is better than most at rugby they are not the top but i would put them in the top 10 nations

  • @barfbagbar USA is currently ranked 17th.

  • @UHtiger and Australia is like 1? ya

  • @ginseng1550 yeah, aus are currently ranked number 2 in the world.

Theres prob 7 tier 1 nations, new zealand, australia, south africa, england, france, ireland and wales.

  • @UHtiger Sir you do Scotland an injustice! We are better than Ireland at the moment...or should I say Ireland are currently worse than us. That seems more apt. I think all being averaged out we are the plucky underdogs chasing the top tiers though.

  • @ElDavido0490 so how many times has scotland won the 6 nations, or even come close.

  • @UHtiger 14 Five/Six Nations wins....More than Ireland eh? So this is a good indicator of how good a team is currently. Not entirely sure what your point was but well done for trying. Also I like how you took a light hearted comment and turned it into every other internet argument.

  • @ElDavido0490 The point is, ireland continuously compete with the top teams and quite often get the win. Scotland are usually lucky to win more than one game in the six nations and when they beat the top teams its a huge achievement. Therefore 2nd tier.

  • @UHtiger Yeah if the Jocks beat the English on the 1st you'll probs see the roof come down lol. Scotland were a force 10/15 years ago but I wouldn't class them as a tier 1 nation in the 21st century. They are competitive though and are not to be underestimated

  • @barfbagbar i aint american, but america is improving very fast, faster than any other country, if rugby was a national sport in america i beleive the rest of the world would have a hard time trying to beat america. GO THE ALLBLACKS FOR EVER

  • @ilovemmamuaythaibox the US would definitely be competitive and they are improving fast but NZ have still dominated throughout history despite a very small number of registered players in comparison to other nations. If it became popular in the US, they would certainly benefit from a larger selection of players but at the end of the day they're all human and only 15 of them are allowed on the field.

  • a proud fijan

  • The england vs all blacks try was AWESOME

  • Rugby is my favorite part of being in high school

  • @AlexDebets

you have rugby in your high school? lucky bastard!

  • Wow

  • USA Ranked 17 out of 94 countries in the rugby world

  • @Moko8298 Not bad actualy

  • fuck US rugby -american kid

  • is the usa good at rugby?

  • @Maplebangeek In answer to your question is USA good at rugby? Well, they are known as minnows if that helps.

  • @ritchloui lol i have no idea what that is. is the usa rugby team like the us soccer team. 2nd tier?

  • @Maplebangeek Not quite. It's well below 2nd tier. You see, in that fraudulent garbage known as soccer, anyone can win. Amateur teams have beaten top flight teams. I suppose that might have some appeal but I prefer to see excellence and be astounded by talent and genius. It's summed up by the saying 'soccer is a game for gentlemen played by thugs, rugby is a game for thugs played by gentlement'. I much prefer gentlemen playing thuggish games, it's hugely entertaining.

  • @Maplebangeek prob more like third tier

  • @Maplebangeek it depends...They could come out with a win sometimes...but USA reach there full potential in sevens rugby more than in a full length match

  • You'll see a guy pulling another guy's shirt in 2:27.

  • name of the song and artist?

  • 2:55 :D

  • If you like rugby you'll probably like American football. Look up this video: 2010 NFL season in 6 minutes. NFL fans thumbs up this.

  • @therealhawksfan dont mind watching the highlights, tried sitting down and watching a whole game but couldn't do it. The amount of stoppages are ridiculous. I remember reading something where they calculated the actual play time (time that the balls is in play). it came out to 11 minutes in games that regularly last 3 hours.

  • Rugby needs to be more nationalised here in the states. This sport is too damn good not to be mainstreamed like other sports, like Pro Basketball, or Pro Baseball. We would enjoy watching this.

  • samoa all day every say

  • 3 things. One I love the American football hating comments even tho im from america :D

Two, If you like this and you are around the Philly area come to PPL park for the COLLEGIATE SEVENS CHAMPIONSHIP THIS FRIDAY

Three, shout out to my boys at Saint Joes Prep for winning the PA rugby state championship!

  • superb rugby by the flying fijians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just played my final year of highschool football and was looking for another outlet to channel my aggresions. Rugby was a perfect choice and i love both games =)

  • @ ihavemyownissues just want to correct you in rugby the only protection is a mouth guard and sometimes a scrum cap if you tear your ears and the doctor orders it ( actually pretty common) we font wear jocks for the same reason football players don't a shattered pelvis is much worse than being hit in the balls a few times

  • wow this is the only sport where black people havent took over

  • @tomboysexy2 lol the pacific islanders pretty much own the sport

  • @tomboysexy2 they probably wont, this sport is only for the strong. black people are too small for this sport, this sport is mainly dominated by pacific islanders and white people all over the globe, you have to be pretty fit for this game.

  • LOL at 2:59

  • Great vid, thanks for posting

  • To be honest I think rugby is the most dangerous and/or roughest sport, because if you really think about it I don't think they, rugby players, have any protection just a cup I think. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also being a big football fan it's dangerous also but they have padding. In rugby they look like a fly when running and imagine get hit full speed with no protection on. Now think is football compared to this more dangerous?

  • @ihavemyownissues nope they dont wear a cup..look up rugby league..just as tough.

  • i have never seen rugby before, but this seems very intense and really really fun

  • @BlaZiiNxIIxGuNn3R it so is. it so is. :)

  • americas seem to foucus on scoring rather then maiming... Novel stratagy

  • brazil is so going to kick asses at the 2016 olympics... can't wait!

hahah just kidding.. i know we won't get far, but i'm really glad to see this sport gaining in importance and popularity here... even thou i love soccer football, it's a lil bit annoying being a one-sport nation...

  • I like the dive into the endzone

  • anyone else notice that at like 1:03 the commentator says "touchdown" hahaha

  • @Fishyguitar22 Yeah he does say touchdown. I'm not trying to take the joke out of that comment but when he meant that he meant like "touched down" as in scored a try. Sorry to spoil the joke or be captain obvious :P

  • to ~ruebbers123~, I think the opposite, rugby is for the weak so there should be not much injures, but football may cause serious damages to death so it needs more protection equipment.

  • @TheHiroyukiutatane

Well rubgy players aren't made of paper like football players who need all that heavy gear just to give themselves brain damage. Honestly the game is more entertaining, and the uniforms at the very least not as repulsive. However, you are entitled to your opinion.

  • @Capdavil :3

  • good tries!!! :D

  • Okay football vs. rugby people. Let me tell you that they are very different sports. Rugby player would not be a good football player (at least on a professional level) and vice versa. Football lends itself to bigger and more serious injuries (i.e. neck injuries and concussions) more than rugby does. However, in rugby you are more much likely to get a bloody nose, or a black eye or something. They are both great, manly sports.

  • @LynchMobster47

Manly? Well rugby is a great game for girls too. I like the aggression and physicality of it and how men's and women's rugby are very similar. But yeah, it looks pretty manly. But I still think soccer players are manliest of all.

  • @LynchMobster47 except ones for steriod abusing pussys(NFL)..and the others for men..

  • it is time the usa had rugby it is good show other that we can play rugby . i am tom hawks fan .

  • 2:59 what a fatal crash that could have been!!

  • stop inventing flame wars, rugby and football are both awesome

  • song?

  • I play football and rugby, both are very intense. But I think we can all agree that soccer is the gayest sport ever invented

  • @WarriorAvis it was very kind of you to call soccer a sport

  • @WarriorAvis haha

  • @WarriorAvis you are an idiot so the most played and popular sport in the world is gay. To quote Ian holloway

'Your wrong! This is so wrong it's frightening' hmmph

  • @WarriorAvis

Soccer takes more skill than either one

  • @WarriorAvis i think mens figure skating still holds that title mate

  • @WarriorAvis too bad rugby came from soccer and football came from rugby

  • @Spuddluff

Sevens is with out a boubt way more tiring than normal rugby. The intensity is always 100% and their are far less stopages then in 15 aside rugby.

  • perfect with the 1911 button

  • Nice short shorts.

"Dude u american pussy step out onto the feeld and lets see what ur unfit pussy football bich ass can do then!! GO EUROPEE!!"

    Sure sound like real men.

  • America fail at any form of rugby!!!! lol

  • this is why im in my rugbyteam +D

  • broke my wrist last week during practice grrr.... out for 1 month lol

  • Those were the smallest rugby players i think i've ever seen

  • @MrBobbySasquatch

they are all about 50 lbs too small for backs :p

  • @Spuddfluff This is also sevens where you run so so so much more than the typical fifteen per side rugby match

  • @specopmonkey2639

the matches last 20 minutes, not 80, I dont really think it's possible for them to run more than union players

  • press 3 for porn :)

  • press 3 for porn :)

  • @megareaper15

Tackle low. Drive your shoulder in to there waist and wrap arms around legs. What ever you do dont let go. Even if you dont get them down you will slow them down.

  • Just joined my high schools rugby team any advice or good videos to watch would be appreciated :)

  • LOL keep pressing 8.

  • its so wierd watching americans play union

  • watch?v=aJMCENgJync watch?v=7ltYPvozO8k ,,,watch?v=5BonCmPnd9s ,,, watch?v=Q1Qt94vNqrY&feature=related >00.59 ,,,watch?v=jjUFgWWs21g&feature=related ,,, watch?v=UUoKeMIoJv4 ,,, ,watch?v=kaZwfuRvEdY&feature=related#,,, watch?v=fdphS3MZG1s ,,,watch?v=xfoFSotb9Jg&feature=related ,,,watch?v=HDqkzobfKLE ,,,,, me is my sport and gay? my sport kills more than 10,000 people a year players and fans, so fuck you american hooligans brazil! fuck if rugbygay

  • @kilericoimbraw futbol=pussy, dumbass mexican

  • lmao kenya got fucked up

  • @1987iniesta Why you gotta be like that man?

  • @1987iniesta 2: Baseball and Basketball. Baseball is commonly contributed to being created during the American Civil War. Basketball was originally created at a Canadian YMCA in the late 1800's, but it was made popular in America. While neither may be as popular as soccer (or futbal), there are professional basketball leagues in every continent. And baseball is huge in several countries including Japan, the Dominican Republic and numerous countries in South/Central Americas and Asia.

  • search: ultimate rugby compilation

  • FUCK FOOTBALL I'M GOING TO RUGBY!!!

  • Americans, Who added synchronized swimming and beach volley ball to the Olympic games. What a fucking joke

  • I've been reading a lot of comments on American football being the 2nd most watched sport in the world. There are over 250 million americans if 50% of them watched a football game I'd be surprised. Now multiply that by the country's that actually like Americans without being coerced by money, weapons or embargo, sanctions or any other from of pressure and who don't actually despise them. Then divide that into 5 billion people. I don' t think it would make it into the 20th spot

  • @petnzme01 i live in texas and i guaruntee its less than 1 in 2, probably more like 1 in 4 or 5. I hate that sport :/

also holy shit the guy at 0:22 took off like a rocket

  • why isnt rugby more popular in america? this is much more exciting than football(american).. i want to join a league locally, is 18 too late of an age to start? im in LA county and have found a few fields to watch it.. damn, they need to make it a high school sport in the US

  • @jackturner1138 Your never too late to play dude. Just remember to train and train hard. Just a couple of things to remember. If you think you're fast, you're a back player. If you're heavy and powerful, you're a forward. Also take the time to strengthen your back, neck and shoulders, the last thing you wanna do is break your neck when you tackle someone for the first time. Oh and have fun.

  • @petnzme01 sweet, thanks man.. im not too big but im fit so maybe the back? im about 5' 9 or 10 and about 160. im a fast runner... long arms n legs. i have no gym access but theres a field near my house with a sled, track, tires, and pullup/dip bars. what should i be eating?

  • @petnzme01 when i say i weigh 160 i mean pounds, in kilos it would be slightly higher than 70.. for an american the downside of talking to a foreigner are the measurement conversions lol, oh and my height would be 1.7m i think

  • @jackturner1138 being that size and new to the game i'd suggest starting out on the wing. easiest position to pick up and as long as you've got some speed the size doesn't matter too much. If you really pick up the skills of the game your size would be good for half back (number 9). If you know of teams that play rugby 7's (shown in this vid) then have a go at that. A lot easier to pick up than 15's and you'll learn all the necessary skills and rules of the game.

  • Rugby is a man's sport. Im not trying to degrade any other sports, im just trying to say that its not safe to play rugby until you are a fully developed man.

  • @luchador1764 so ur saying that kids shouldn't play rugby? idiot

  • @luchador1764 thats why theres u8 teams at my local rugby club

  • @luchador1764 In New Zealand you start playing as a kid as we all did. Playing as a developed man would make you the most useless player of all. Every boy who plays aspires to an All Black if not he's one of the spectators. He want's to be the boy who can sidestep the best kid in the other team. All these skills are learned through repetition over the years the most powerful being instinct. Not one of these players started as an adult,

  • @billabobzozy no.. it is a whole lot more complicated, this is only showing one part of rugby, watch a whole game and see what im talking about :D

  • I just love how ignorant people are about their sports lol. I love american football and its my favorite sport but during the offseason I also love to watch rugby considering how similar the two games are. I think people put the other game down just because they dont tike the time to watch/learn about it. If you watch an american football game for the first time you will have no idea what is going on with all the rules but it is a great game if you know what is going on and is very strategical

  • Nice to see USA play the MAN sport

  • The USA National Rugby Team will have to make the 2011 Rugby World Cup finals in order to catch media attention in the US. IMAGINE... USA vs ALL BLACKS FINAL!.. I bet ya it would be 100x better than the Superbowl!

  • @SpiritMan00

USA will not make it. because they are shit.

And only teams with British blood in them Wins the RWC. Fact.

only commonwealth countries have won the RWC. and England vs all blacks would be better ;)

  • this game is dumb!

  • @AutobotzGSR

lmao. it's a shit load better than nfl. and because your team is fail at the sport.

    /watch?v=BZHDFliS6vo

watch this. Rugby is a mans sport. not some fag sport with pads and helmets.

  • Football is for the weak!

    RUGBY!!!!!

  • @ruebbers123 Ha! Which football though?

  • @ruebbers123 hell yea!!!

  • @ruebbers123 SHUT UP football is the illest sport tough sport ever. RUGBY is for wimps who are afraid of getting tackled by big fast furious football men.

  • @stfuih8ulol look up "huge rugby hits!!!!" and also football derived from rugby you copycat bastard

  • @stfuih8ulol HAHHAA, as your players wear sissy pads, AND only play 20 min in a 2 hour game. Lol My rugby team with your football team (Assuming your not a fat ass like most football players) in a Rugby game and then a football game. Rugby - 2. Football - 0. Plus, watch Dhani tackles the globe. He plays football and admits rugby is tougher.

I have played both anyways and I'm hooked to Rugby.

  • @FMXPRO199 i watched that whole series it was sick

  • @tmolo7 I know, it made me wanna try every sport there was lol

  • @FMXPRO199 LOL Rugby team beating a football teamAT football? LMFAO! theres a reason why the average NFL player is a millionaire and Rugby players arent. Football > Rugby...if its so popular why is it so broke?

  • @kemoblue4u 50% of the rules in rugby are the same in football. But football is 0% like rugby making it easier for a rugby player to learn about football. Plus they are just as tough without pads, but with pads? that would be scary. And being paid doesnt make it better, it just shows you are selfish and greedy, and not playing for the sport.

  • @ruebbers123 I play Football and Rugby <_< Football is not for the weak, k. Football has more possible serious injuries than Rugby has. I enjoy Rugby more than Football though XD It the better sport though

  • football is better

  • @DrKiller141 NFL is so fucking boring.

  • @DerrenBrown100 rugby is for retards

  • @DrKiller141 no its for tough boys and girls

  • @rotstopper its for retarded boys and girls

  • @DrKiller141 how so? rugby is a lot more controlled than football, you've got to think about switches, dummies, roucks, support ect, and you can't just throw your body at another body, because it's also a very cardio-based sport, always running, tackling, passing. so it's not just for retards, but also for more intelligent people, after all, it's a gentleman's sport.

  • @DaProOneTwoThrizzle do you even know anything about football? I mean I like rugby but it seems more involved on constant reflexes, speed, and cardio. When you are running a football play you literally have hundreds of plays going off in your head you have to execute. Don't be naive and say that football doesn't take smarts.

  • @chris71388 i'm not saying it doesn't! i'm saying rugby isn't for retards :P you should've read more carefully, my friend. mind you, i LOVE football, more so than rugby, but what i'm saying is that rugby does require a fair bit of finesse and quick thinking at the same time, it is difficult, trust me on that (i've played both sports, so i know the ins-and outs)

  • @DaProOneTwoThrizzle Actually Rugby is a thugs sport played by gentlemen and vice versa for football. Rugby is the much better sport, hands down!

  • @DaProOneTwoThrizzle Your correct except for the last part.

Rugby is a beastly game PLAYED by gentlemen.

While I enjoy rugby more, have you seen how big some of those play books are, that involves a lot of strategy.

  • @Badlogic2 A Hooligans game played by gentleman.

  • touch down bloody yank!

  • science and religion? I thought this was rugby not a fucking lecture...

  • WAYYYYYY More Interesting than Football !!! & im an american

  • @shawtygotteeth So true..this game is much older.it dates back to the roman times..but sports are pointless its still grown men playin kids games..they dont care about us..they dont pay my bills..they dont care if u cant pay your mortgage..

  • @5tonyvvvv I know someone who sucks at sports

  • @5tonyvvvv sounds like someone didnt have a father growing up

  • @BabyJezuzRape LOL..nice name loser..na, i dont waste my time rolling on the ground with other men..thats for you. i hunt and hike and fish...nice name atheist piece of shit..go rot in the ground..your life is pointless..

  • @5tonyvvvv i hate getting dragged into these arguments, and i agree that that user name is highly offensive and uncalled for, but i am strongly athiest and i find the concept of an atheiest's life is pointless insulting. we just choose to believe in the things which can actuallly be proved, not in a concept which can only be "proved" by what is written in a 2000 year old book about a man who may or may not have existed and his teachings, ignored by you calling the guy's life pointless.

  • @bowyer56 he attacked me for no reason,,yes I have faith so what I believe in God..I dont think think life was just an accident ..I guess when you die you will just rot in the ground..you have a faith as well you believe in nothing..no real meaning or hope..thats great I really dont care..good for you..your nothing more than a random accident that evolved out of a sea vent or mud..which is impossible..

  • @5tonyvvvv Is that why you are cutting and pasting the same 5 paragraphs over and over all over youtube?

  • @bowyer56 You have a energy information problem..lets say you have all necessary proteins DNA RNA.enzymes to make a cell..the paradox is..In order for digital code to be precise, and information to be processed correctly..you need the molecular machines, the factories inside the cell.assembling information..these systems are the very things..that live inside the cell.they harness the energy..its an uphill? struggle.I dont think you understand..no natural process can achieve this.

  • @bowyer56 Even with all the Proteins and DNA and RNA ...What would you do with it??..from there you have zero molecular machines, zero assembly instructions...all this stuff would just float away in some primordial soup and break down..and it would be the same thing in a test tube.

  • I am fully prepared to believe in science over religion because there many things which can be fully explained and proved by science which religion either has a deeply flawed explaination for or no explaination at all. Science does not have an explaination for everything, but it can at least forward a reasonable hypothesis for why something happens or why something came to be, and can then either prove or disprove this. Religion blindly believes ancient texts with no attempt to prove anything.

  • @bowyer56 yes and you clearly dont know science or religion..

  • @bowyer56 I am a Christian and I actually cannot see how a dense dot exploded and just made the universe. Also (I forget what movie it is lol XP) an athiest couldn't argue reasonable answers with a Christian. Plus, most of the hypothesis' to my understanding are just saying everything is made from tiny dust particles pulled together by gravity. How does gravity "accidently" form a human being out of nowhere.

Correct me if you think I got something wrong.

  • @FMXPRO199 you don't understand because you are trying not to understand. your beliefs don't give any answers they just create more questions. and what has this got to do with rugby 7s?

  • @michaelshippo Idk, just saw it and commented. Plus, if you read the bible, it has questions and answers. besides, most other beliefs came from Christianity (yes, I also know Christianity came from another religion too)

  • Impossible still ...like Fred Hoyle says I feel like some one has monkeyed with physics and chemistry..he was a militant atheist..,you are going against a well established law of biogenesis..louis pasteur..proved it wrong in the time of Darwin..stanley miller proved it impossible because of Homochirality.and with Toxic tar and unusable amino acids .and all we are doing today is copying information like what Venter did..abiogenesis is FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE..you have Faith it happened!!
