Perhaps he didn't see the reflection on his team mate. It seems as if he was ready to save the origional shot; however, the second accidental touch which was problably to small to notice through him off. Take a look at 0:48

Looks like it would be easy to save, but it all happens so fast. Slow-mo, you're thinking why doesn't the keeper just cover up his right post, but with the change in direction, the speed, and the bounce, i'd say it would be very difficult to save. Very good, but very lucky goal.

I'm a goalie, and sometimes those long shots were tough because they would skip off bumps in the ice at the last minute, also if the puck went above the boards it would have a black background and be hard to spot when it was traveling fast.
