Thank you so much for sharing the tips on how I can adjust the wolf forte secondo shoulder rest. I have a long neck. The violin has never been SO COMFORTABLE since I got started 3 months ago. No more neck-ache and I can vibrato at ease :)
Wolf forte secondo is what i use. And then I bought bonmusica bcoz i thought i'd feel more comfortable with it, but the reality is, my violin is stabile, but i dont feel comfortable playing it so i went back to wolf. Didnt know i could bend it thx!
At the end of this video, you mention a second in which you will show exactly how the shoulder rest is adjusted to fit. Please could you tell me the title of this one as I can't find it. Thanks

actually, this way of bending the wolf works pretty nicely !!!! no teacher wants to believe you when you say you don't feel very comfortable with your violin .... they would just say work more or search by yourself because of course they probably didn't have to face that kind of difficulty.
Bending a shoulder rest that way wouldn't come into the mind of a normal violonist. but for people like me with sloppy shoulders very long neck and slim body this is the messi ! thx again !
It's like having an uncomfortable chair and then proposing to sit on the floor instead, rather than to make the chair comfortable. It's fine to sit on the ground if that suits you. My only concern is comfort for violinists. Some feel it's comfortable to sit directly on the ground! Let's be honest: Are we practicing puritanism or do we allow us to enjoy the pleasures of life? My God doesn't deny shoulder rests, and I am not going to join your group! :)
@animatoviolins it's a matter of preference really, Ive played the violin for about 10 years and for the first 7 years of playing the violin, Ive played without a shoulder rest... means you have to have utmost control of movement and posture...but I find that playing in tune is better without a shoulder rest, however the twiddly fast bits within music means that my violin is all over the place....so i need a shoulder rest for those moments xx
You can play comfortably NOT using a crutch!
