  • Baba Hugh Masekela is one of the best jazz musicians ever.

Baba Hugh sings so many songs mainly to do with the freedom of Africans in Mama Azania(Mother Southern Africa), he did so many songs with Mama Africa(Mama Miriam Makeba) and he was at his finest and dedicated best.

Baba Hugh Masekela one of Africa's great musicians and sons of our freedom self-empowerment.

  • love this song, it's one of his best songs!

  • this song reminds me of my mom and my aunt at her 50th birthday...

  • Lovely song.........Translation anyone?

  • It talks about a fat girl called Thanayi who eats a lot of food and can hardly walk by herself. Its a humorous song not meant to ridicule or discriminate against heavy people but just making fun of it, which is customary in many southern African nations to make fun of each other in a jocular way not with spitefulness.

  • It also talks about what she eats. fish and chips, bunny chow, tripe etc. It's actually quite a cute song. We black South Africans do make fun of that. It sucks now but back then it was kinda a complement.

  • I really love this song,I have been looking for it on YouTube and FINALLY I FOUND IT.Thanks for this Proudly South African music.Keep up the good work.Peace
