Incase anyone is wondering, I think they're drill rounds he's loading in (Note the silver, metallic casing of the round). Basically, they're bullets that don't fire, they're there for training purposes.
This gun can easily be used for concealed carry, one of the reason is that you'll get an emotional attachment to it as its so accurate and will just want it with you.
This gun replaced my SW MP40 fullsize as my primary carry. I carried a fullsize MP for 2 years every single day. To the doctors or work it was with me. Once you go Compact you never look back. In some situations though a fullsize is more effective. But for comfort this is awesome, its on the bigger size but for a male with large hands it G2G
I shot a .45 xd compact. Damn thing kept stovepiping... and also with the guy who owned it (a 10 yr police vet). He sent it back to springfield, but nothing they could do would fix that. He no longer carries that for personal protection because he doesn't trust it. Plus... 9mm? Most people with experience will tell ya its not going to have the knockdown of a .45. Hey... to each his own I guess. The old school model 1911 is still my fave.
yeah.. quite an exaggeration ;) I own one too in .40 and love it..it's my daily ccw...but talk like that is why the old guys make fun of all the "tacticool" guys these days...
Best sub compact hands down? I beg to differ good sir, since you seem to have forgotten to mention a little power punching pistol from whic the XD has been copied. The Great Glock 26, or 27.
Glocks suck. I've a 27 and a 19 and sold them both. Any gun with just a trigger safety is not safe. The XD is much better. Striker indicator, loaded round indicator, grip safety and a standard picantinni rail all on thr XD.
Not so sure on CCW since it's basically a full size handgun. As far as CCW goes I carry around a little kel tec p-11. Excellent sidearm; light and hardly noticeable.
anything more than a t shirt will cover mine quite nicely IWB 4 'o clock...and if I carry at my appendix I can get away with just a t...even though it is uncomfortable ..

What makes this guy an authority on tactical weapons?
He reminds me of the poop chute from the movie Ronin, the Irish fellow who posed as a SAS operative, but when called out didn't know squat about field ops.
Hand guns are a very much a personal preference and there are many out there that are great weapons. Glocks are known for their reliability but I find the grips very uncomfortable. Nothing wrong with the pistol, its just not to my liking. I like my Kahr PM9 but field stripping it is sometimes a pain. My Springfield XD40 I really like and prefer it to the Kahr. I still like my 38 special S&W 442 for CC. The little wheel gun can go anywhere.
ohhhh a 1911 huh, well which gun, which grip, dip shit. the 1911 is a great grip, but you dont say shit in your text, and the glock is a lot different.
lol you are a nut sack, I own or have owned a 1911, glocks, and a own 3 Xd's. to make an absurd comment that the xd is by far the best tactical weapon ever made is retarded. Xd's don't have the history of a 1911, at almost 100 years and still going strong is not to shabby. or maybe the 20+ years of the glock. hell the sig 226 is above the xd in my eyes too. the factory trigger in an Xd is not to great either. the grip on any gun is highly subjective so the 1911 is not the be all end all either.
the 1911 is a great gun, but it's become a model for new guns. springfield makes great 1911s, i was just asking for his preferance or carry. no doubt, that what scooby said is correct, the gun this guy is talking about is not the best tac gun ever made, no way, i own it, its great, but has plenty of physical faults, bore access being one.
+1 I agree JNT20. Even calling it the best tactical HANDGUN or FIREARM would be a pretty broad statement; but weapon? Missiles and bombs are tactical weapons too. :)
I don't think I've ever seen anybody carrying a missile around with them so I thin weapon means pistol or rifle when it applies to a human. Firearms are more often referred to as "weapon" anyway even though to a computer, pistol, rifle, or bayonet is more accurate.
lol BananaMan you're right, I was just being facetious . To continue, you can't deny that missiles and bombs are also called weapons (think WMD's). Also, I'm sure you've heard of "tactical airstrikes."

There are many many great firearms made by a wide variety of companies. People are not all the same and therefore there will never be one gun that is perfect for all of them. I think we can all agree on this point and stop the "best gun ever" debate in it's tracks. By the way, sig makes the best gun ever.
i think he just slipped up. it was just a short intro about the gun, he could have gone over a lot more. ( for all you out there, this gun is striker fired there isnt any hammer (lol), i think thats what glock40calgt was talking about.)
Put well ove 1000 rounds through mine without so much as a hiccup. Eats every kind of ammo I can feed it and comes back for more. Needless to say, a excellent and very safe gun indeed.
LOL, I don't think I've ever heard an opinion stated so clearly as a fact in my life "BY FAR" LOL. I've seen pieces fly of an XD under normal usage, but if you like it that's great.
The Springfield XD series has been put through the most extremes of torture testing, they rank up with the glock and the HK with no dispute, there's a lot that goes into an opinion about a gun, but what it can do is just fact. If anyone out there is looking for a great gun, than Springfields will do the trick. Glock will do the trick, HK will do the trick, Ruger will do the trick. etc. I don't know about it being the best ever made, but ive never seen what blow apart with normal usage.
They had some big finish problems when they came out (but I think that is fixed) and the piece I've seen come out was a roll pin. It didn't "blow apart." I didn't mean to dis the XDs so strongly I just thought the "best BY FAR" was goofy. By all means get a pistol from a reputable manufacturer and learn to use it.

Great vid
Look at my page, I mostly agree.
This is a great weapon for a friend to use to help assist and cover my ass.
Its super safe, and user friendly for a unexperienced shooter.
I would trust my Sig P229 sct .40 when war broke out, but it would be hard for me to not toss the Xd in the bag to go with me.

Looks kinda small for a full size handgun. The XD Sub Compacts only have a 3" barrel as opposed to the 4" Service and the 5" Tactical models.
