i just read that alan vega (from legendary and highly influential band "suicide") performs vocals on this song. i never knew that. i think he sings some lines 3 minutes into the song.

Fantastic song! It should be the National Anthem of Goth. I'm not sure if I like this version or the Sisters of Mercy version. Both are magnificent!
