I'm trying to get into otr trucking. Any advice on what companys to drive for. All I hear is people talk about this company is bad this one sucks and so on. So then what is a good company???

Werner HAHAH.... up here in oregon those are some of the worst drivers i have ever seen.. I worked across from a bunch of em and id say once a month i would see one come back destroyed.. seen them back into other trucks the building hit a co workers truck... man those guys are a joke.

I didn't see the driveshaft which is a good thing, it's been disconnected from the diff due to towing, the tranny is ok.

I used to work for a small company that had an old Werner cabover. sometimes I had to drive it & the super ten is about the most convoluted, pointless transmission setup I've ever seen. you'd be better off with the 1950's twin stick setup.

There was a truck that went into a barn around here a few years back. Someone stopped suddenly on a 2 lane road, and he had to run off the side to keep from hitting it. Apparently the shoulder was soft and he kept going into the old hay barn right near the road. The loft gave way with him still inside the barn. I don't know all the details, but the driver died before they could get to him.

I drive for Werner, and actually put new guys in older trucks. started in september, Currently driving a 500,000+ mile Freightliner Century. Horribly ghetto, but it runs.

LOL, I use to see this all the time when I worked for FFE. I started with FFE and got the hell out of there as fast as I could. I did my year and left. Everyone has to start somwhere, but there are many who should never drive a car, yet alone a truck.

LMFAO jazzz i used to drive for Werner i was an O/O been there for 4 years, over the last 2 years werner has reduced its fleet from nearly 10,000 trucks to about 5,700 today.

you wanna know why im not there anymore?

they fired me for one ONE speeding ticket, first in my career

RUefingkidding, well I agree the driver in this case wasn't ready obviously. Techniclly, I'm a student driver. BUT, I am not a new driver. I have 12 years local under my belt. Not all student drivers are bad. By the way, I have a flawless commercial driving record. Not even a blip. But that's me and then there are those like the driver at fault for this abortion. Plus if our record isn't newer than 3 years, guess what? Back to school we must go, usually.

That is messed up but since he didn't roll the truck, Werner probably retained him and gave him a new truck. Judging by the fact its a new truck to their fleet, he was either a Team driver or Trainer...Hopefully neither but I'll bet dimes to dollars he still drives to this day.
