  • @arunbgg : I agree....

  • Hey I want to learn the chords. What are they?

  • 2 words. Just amazing.

  • Two days back I had an opportunity to watch Karnatriix performing live at Kerala Fine Arts Hall,Cochin. I am really spellbound by their performance. Still now that great music is lingering in my ears. Hats Off to all in the band especially the Lady German Drummer..Looking forward for more from Kanatriix.

  • you guys are livin my dream..i mean every ROCK fan from the south india's dream..how many times didnt we think about an AMAZING sound when the CARNATIC music is played on western hard rock instruments..kudos..thanks for makin MY dream come true..

  • Music is from the heart mon. Enjoy, relax, and last but not least mon.. Get a LIFE. Enjoy..PopaTab

  • Not discounting the guitarist's skill, I must say that it mocks the original intent / bhAva in the composition. While rAga based confusion / fusion / improvisation is all fine, picking on a bhakti-heavy composition like this and riddling it with incompatible nuances makes it a vain display of skill and nothing else.

  • @pavan1988,

Its the soul that is important. Not bickering over minute aspects of pronunciation and bhava etc etc.

The fact that many classical musicians with your mentality have no real connection with divinity and are just musical politicians, is proof in the pudding.

  • its not Entharo ... its Endaro

  • @podadi,

Its not easy using the English to translate such words. If you want to be nitpicky i can correct you further and say its not Endaro BUT Endharo

  • @sonofthedestroyer :: hi i am not nitpicky it depends who is translating it Tamil language speaking people say it as entharo but kriti writen in telugu .. it is endaro ..

  • Music is music stop giving it boundaries! this is beautiful!

  • Hey Guys. No comparison.....this rendition spells out the gift in the guitarist and the group. I agree with most, this rendition can be repeatedly be played again and again and still want more...and is sooooo soothing!!! Most Support you for what you are....Karnatriix.Keep up the good work and lets see more from you....CHEERS

  • i have been listening to this song everyday at least twice for the past 20 days, that is from the day i came across this song

  • What is the name of the band? Is it Karnatixx?

  • excellent

  • the time is 4:20. who bets this was on purpose? *raises hand*

  • Love the guitarist! wish i could take few lessons from him!

  • There is no mutilation of either the song or ragam here. What are bgsindhura and bhadriprasad talking about?

  • If I had seen this when I was in Class 8 a lot of people would have been happy including *amma*. I would not have become some fanatic of some marijuana smoking cat killing, some satan worshiping lunatic.

    \m/

    This roccks!!!

  • This song is so beautifully composed that even after this mutilation it still sounds good :)

  • its forbidden to change this raagam...but ya nice piece :)

  • Oh yes, this is a great find!!! many thanks to you, I was playing some of my faves Brand X, Bruford and Mahavishnu Orchestra, then stumbled upon this - Wow, real fun stuff, love it! What else would you recommend???

  • Absolutely fabulous! A display of talent, control and feel...Johnny, you have done great! Warmest regards, Madhu

  • I grew up hearing my father sing this and now how resplendent and delightful to hear your beautiful version!

  • excellent

  • extremely high display of skill.....india gives its own kind of music....this note makes my mind relaxed.....what a combination......good composed sir

  • @manas919 sorry, i cannot agree with you, this is not indian music. they raped indian music here. real indian music is hindustani and karnataka sangeetham (south indian) . you should hear this ragam and keerthanam in its proper karnatic version to understnad how horrible this version is. pls listen to rendition of balamuralikrishna of the same song.

i request you not to send hatemail or use indecent language in reply to my comment

  • @knpradeep77,

Music is constantly changing. How do you think Hindustani music came about? when the muslims 'raped' carnatic style sangeetam and formed an Islamicized style. This is the reality. I personally appreciate this song. Many people hated Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan for similar reasons

  • @manas919 Well, it does make your mind relaxed. Of course its in "Shree" raga. One of the most beautiful ragas. If you think it is his composition, you are wrong. This composition is called "endaro mahano bhavulu". It was composed by the great saint "Thyagaraja", 244 years ago. This composition is one among the "pancharatna kruthi" (meaning, 5 gems among compositions). The song means "There are so many great people around me. I bow to every one of them in humility".

  • I first heard your music when you guys performed at Guitar Gurus in Bangalore. I complimented your performance after the show and I wasn't drunk when I said it! I genuinely loved it :-) Wondering if I should buy your CD or download it from CDbaby.

  • this is blast...i wanna hear these gods in real...man this is blast..total blast...it takes me to heaven...this is coke..

  • wow fantastic great music... no word seriously.... superb.

  • Amazing Amazing Amazing :) Loved the rendition. Would love to hear a faster piece from these guys.

  • Simply brilliant!

  • Hi Johnny,

Old Hijacker friend ...who staged your rock show in Chennai.Sunnu

    Wonderful da!!!

I'm circulating to our family in the US, India and other countries.

Keep up the tradition which you enjoy. Gr8 music with sincerity. Bless U!

  • This piece is great,, especially the last two minutes. I wonder if it is the raag that lends itself to a different form easily? Maybe some improvisations would liven up the second minute and the end.

  • You hit the nail on the head! That's the wonder of Indian melody system - you have only a few notes in the Raga whose domain is fixed. The range however is infinite! And St. Tyagaraja shows that range in this composition of his, which is one of his Pancha Ratna (5 gems). And when Karnatriix plays it, it sounds out of this world!!

  • Yes of course! what I meant was that perhaps Raag Shree lends itself to adaptation in a new form. All other raags may not do so. Good playing and very nice on the ear.

  • Nice integrating composition, without loosing the originality of the divine music.

  • 5 stars uncle johnny!

     - gopi's son, sasank ;-)

  • these guys are talented but such profound compositions are at their best when they remain in their original classical style. This just sounds like a simplified version of the original piece.

  • Hello, it is anything but simplified. Why is it because they are a fusion band? I believe St. Tyagaraja would be the happiest to see his composition celebrated through such experiments. Listen again the parts around 3:45 - the harmonies and tonics, maintaining the raga grammar - it is anything but simple.

  • simply awesome!u guys rock!handled the delicate line of being full blown rock and classical very well.

  • Awsome!!! Simply Divine!!

  • i will pay to watch this

  • Breathtaking .... simpliy out of this world!!!!

  • dayum so much talent!!!

  • John sent me a mail announcing the release of their CD. Congratulations John, Faiyaaz and Shiva! Keep it up.

In this video, I wonder who is playing the bass? I hear a distinct bass line throughout the piece...hmm...

  • Excellent ! I love Entharo !

Plesae, check my page on Youtube "froggygoestobollywoo" - another great musician from Tamil Nadu : Rajhesh Vaidhya

And a very explosive fusion !
