I opened ONE text box in wlm 2011 and thought out of curiosity how many google chrome I could open before it was loaded and ready, so I
1: set the hotkey for google chrome, win + W
2: had 3 add-ons to chrome:
- Smooth scroll
- Flashblocker
- Add-blocker
Result: After over 100 google chrome windows I stopped, because the wlm 2011 box STILL had not loaded and more chrome windows would have been such a pain! (and i barely used 40% of my ram memory and processor.)

@Jchmmzz The new version uses the video conferencing engine from the previous version rather than the web cam engine (don't ask me why they had two different features that did the same thing that used different methods). This sadly requires both parties to need a webcam, which isn't always the case (or you don't always want to use it). People used to use it as a kind of CCTV too by pointing a cam at something and being on MSN lol.
@mrsoniclover333 well 1 thing I have to tell you. You want find it in the menu. you have to activate something. But I dont know the english word for it because I am german -.-* I guess the word is "menulist"? It have to be activated so you can see the plus options.

WLM 2011 is pathetic. i swear every time they bring out a new one they make ridiculous changes to it just for the sake of changing something. screwed up the block list, screwed up name change, bigger advertisemets, giant info screen on the left i have no interest in, and still no option for just sending cam to someone. it HAS to be video-call.. and when i unselected silverlight to be installed, it installed it anyway! the list goes on.. i uninstalled it and using previous version now.
As usual we have a bunch of idiots who complain whenever MS changes messenger.I seem to remember people saying that messenger 09 was crap and that they would downgrade to the older version blah blah blah...I for one welcome the new changes! Cut the advertisements out or at least have the option to remove panels such as advertisements, and I may consider using it. For now I will use Facebook or IM.

Why the hell do you screw with such a simple, basic product in such a way as to make it universally hated by the community?
I accidentally installed the new MSN Messenger as part of some "updates" for my computer and when the new MSN appeared I was beyond disgusted. Giant advertisements for trite entertainment stories, a terrible UI, and a totally overdone concept.
Fix it. Please.

This is possibly the worst version of msn yet. I refused to get a new version since 2009 as i believe it is getting proessivley worse and worse, it's obvious they are trying to cut into the facebook market.
Main problems with this poorley designed bloatware messenger.
- No nick change, what were they thinking?
- More pointless features, every version there's something even more useless like winks
- General layout, it's TERRIBLE.
MSN 2011 is the only program which is actually going backwards.

How to fix Windows Live.
1. Uninstall all Windows Live products.
2. Go to oldversion . com and download MSN Messenger 7.5.
3. Install the program.
4. Once it is installed right click on MSN Messenger, go to Properties, click on the Compatibility tabs and check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows 2000

Ok, I just did a comparison:
I opened ONE text box in wlm 2011 and thought out of curiosity how many google chrome I could open before it was loaded and ready, so I
1: set the hotkey for google chrome, win + W
2: had 3 add-ons to chrome:
- Smooth scroll
- Flashblocker
- Add-blocker
Result: After over 100 google chrome windows I stopped, because the wlm 2011 box STILL had not loaded and more chrome windows would have been such a pain! (and i barely used 40% of my ram memory and processor.)

Dear windows live team - Look up some statistics about the wlm 2011, nobody likes it!
It is slow, no matter how good your machine is. I just bought a great new PC and everything works like greased lightning...then i open wlm 2011 and it all fucks up. I need to ctrl+alt+del regularly because the program is not responding!!!

Fix the MASSIVE memory leak please. I don't care about poorly implemented half assed features nearly as much as I care about the thing being stable and not filling up my 8GB of RAM over the course of a couple of hours and bringing the entire system to its knees almost.

to be honest the best version was WLM 8.5 because there was no copyright bullcrap for using the StereoMix feature but seriously i gotta say to you fools,every year you fuck up msn more and more.
WLM 2011 is soo rubbish that im actually using the standard messenger you get with Windows XP
if people havent already upgraded and want to know how to stick to their old messenger in a few simple steps just PM me .. ( i dont want these cockroaches patching it )

@Jchmmzz The new version uses the video conferencing engine from the previous version rather than the web cam engine (don't ask me why they had two different features that did the same thing that used different methods). This sadly requires both parties to need a webcam, which isn't always the case (or you don't always want to use it). People used to use it as a kind of CCTV too by pointing a cam at something and being on MSN lol.

@mrsoniclover333 well 1 thing I have to tell you. You want find it in the menu. you have to activate something. But I dont know the english word for it because I am german -.-* I guess the word is "menulist"? It have to be activated so you can see the plus options.

Idk what your problems is? I using the messenger now for 2 months and yes I had problems in the beginning by I learned how to use it and now I think its better than the old. I guess you guys used it like 10 minutes and then wanted the old one back

WLM 2011 is pathetic. i swear every time they bring out a new one they make ridiculous changes to it just for the sake of changing something. screwed up the block list, screwed up name change, bigger advertisemets, giant info screen on the left i have no interest in, and still no option for just sending cam to someone. it HAS to be video-call.. and when i unselected silverlight to be installed, it installed it anyway! the list goes on.. i uninstalled it and using previous version now.

As usual we have a bunch of idiots who complain whenever MS changes messenger.I seem to remember people saying that messenger 09 was crap and that they would downgrade to the older version blah blah blah...I for one welcome the new changes!
