.. I am and was deeply touched by this beautiful and love inspired movie.. it touched my soul and brought back memories of my childhood, my first love, love for my parents and for the belief of innocence ..by far the only movie that makes me cry and reflect.
I cannot stop crying after watching this emotionally exhaustive motion picture about life. It is a tribute to the breathtaking world of cinema, a place full of magic and power. I saw myself in Toto. A boy obsessed with cinema and a teenager in the conquest of love. I have seen many films. This is the one on top.
lol, I may be ignorent, but at least im not retarded. I have never seen the movie, nor do I plan to, and I am sure it has some sort of sentimental meaning behind it (like his lost youth) but again, I have never seen it. Also I was kidding, guess you didn't catch that.
It is such a beautiful movie..It will blow you away why he is watching the movie, but where it came from and who its from will be the biggest reason to watch it.I am a hard sell too, but this movie is so rich that you'll be pleasently surprised.I'll be waiting for your feedback.Lisa
This is one of my favorite movies!! Everything is such beautiful.. and Morricone is the best soundtrack composer!..and this scene makes me cry every time i watch...so sad!
I watched this film when it first came onto cinema. Many yearls later it was the foreign film in my "Film as Literature" class. When we watched the film I sat in the back of the class and tried as hard as I could to not cry at the end scene... When it was obvious that I could not hold back the tears I was not worried... I was in total company of the class. This is my favorite film of all time... a true work of art that celebrates life, love and cinema.
This is such a beautiful scene. I really love the film.. It over does it slightly on the boys obsession with that girl but still the love for cinema's a nice story and I love how they tied together those shots that were taken out y the priese haha
The DVD release has 2 ending versions. On the original release, Toto lost contact with Helena. On the alternate version, oh well.. I won't give it away. Just watch it. ALFREDO! ... TOTO! It's the best foreign film of all time. It's very nostalgic; if you know the true meaning of life, love & legacy. Belissima!
Did you ever see Fleur Maxwell, the amazing figure skater from Luxembourg, skating to this music at the european championships 2005? THIS mooving music, interpreted by such a charismatic skater ... I think, I´ve seen it 1000 times!
In the movie, the priest who controlled the small theatre in the small town where he grew up had all kissing scenes cut out before showing. Many were not put back in before the films were sent on. This is a montage of the ones left on the cutting room floor. He's recapturing all the kisses he missed as a boy in that theatre.
that music. those censored kisses that alfredo saved for salvatore all those years. p.s. don't see the director's cut; from what i remember of seeing it screened about 12 years ago, it takes all the romance, beauty and mystery away from the lovers' story.
An absolutely amazing film. From little Toto to when he falls in love Helena. Excellent soundtrack as well. What was best I saw in the theater with an Italian friend from Rome and he was able to explain some of the slang and gestures. Like when Alfredo and Toto were taking the test.
Living here day by day, you think it's the center of the world. You believe nothing will ever change. Then you leave: a year, two years. When you come back, everything's changed. The thread's broken. What you came to find isn't there. What was yours is gone. You have to go away for a long time... many years... before you can come back and find your people. The land where you were born. But now, no. It's not possible. Right now you're blinder than I am.
Oh My god what a Beautiful...and Heartbreaking Movie, from the Land of a Thousand Heartbreaks...Sicily.Yes this Scene is so touching, just Incredible!!!!Bella Sicilia!!!
I cannot think of any scene in all the films I have ever watched that had such an emotional impact as this. Every time I watch it...it STILL gets me...

Sure you can watch Cinema Paradiso.
