mine was plus 17 sec /day out of the box.regulated it 3 times and finally got it to -3.5 sec/day.thats about as good as i could do.thats well within spec for this 2824 movement.it took several tweeks with a scope.i'd hoped for near perfection but couldnt quite get there.obviously i did improve on it.anybody else got got a regulation story?oh and date change is great.really lovely piece imo, mines leather clasp, black face.elegant ,low key watch, not gawdy attention getter, more subtle.
Here's something I found about the use of 'IIII' instead of 'IV', There's an old clock tower in the town of Le Locle, I read somewhere that this watch got its design from the clock of the tower. Sure enougth, use of four on the clock tower is 'IIII'. You'll see the video of Le Locle tower in other youtube video... It's a awesome looking watch.
This may seem like a useless video BUT it is not!! I recently purchased a 150th anniversary Tissot chrono @ an estate auction. I was worried it could possibly be a fake but based on the unusal second hand sweep of this Tissot, I feel confident mine too is the real deal THANKS!
The Eta 2824 was created in the early to mid 60's and is still widely used today in many high end and mid range watches. Now a days big watch companies make their own in house movments which cost more for consumers. Most mid range watch companies use the 2824-2 or the Selita Sw-200/ Eta copy.
I believe its because this watch was hand made in Le Locle Switzerland, unlike the PR50 which was made in a Swiss watch manufacturing plant where many watch companies have their watches made in larger quantities. Just like the words Geneve makes watches more expensive or COSC certified also makes watches super high end. Tissot makes great watches at affordable prices we all can acquire, I have two and my Le Locle keeps better time than my SeaStar.

I own the Tissot Le Locle too. This watch has a very precise date changing mechanism!

the le locle just looks stunning... whereas the pr50 looks a bit... well... it looks fine, just not as good as the le locle
