Great Mosque, but when visiting Istanbul, don't miss the Suleimaniye Mosque. That is the real masterpiece. A stunning example of Ottoman architecture that will leave you speechless!

I was watching a documentary on this and everytime a earthquake hits for past 1500 years, every infrastructure is demobolized except this mosque. The mosque tend to be preserved like the Pharoah's body.

@cortezawwris What are you talking about? Have you even EVER been to Turkey? We preserve Churches who aren't used anymore and our Christian citizens have their Churches just like our Jews who have their synagogues and Alevi's have their Cem houses etc.

Unlike the "Orthodox" Armenians who use an historical Ottoman mosque as a place to put their animals.

Turkey is 99.8 % Christian, there are a few small Christian villages the rest live in big cities.

@cortezawwris that's false information. churches are oppened here everyone can freely pray. as you know the ecumenical orthodox patriarchate is also here. the real heretics are your russian church. they try to compete with the ecumenical church of istanbul, which is the main authority of the world orthodoxy.
