I believe it was part of the "Thrill The World" project, in which Thriller dances across the globe were orchestrated to happen at the same time. The actual dance happened at Westlake Mall in Seattle, but after that some of the dancers decided to mob Pike Place and do it again. It was seriously the most entertaining thing I had seen in quite a while! :)
